The best advice that I have for anyone looking for a flight on Southwest is to check the site constantly, as many times a day as you can. Their available flights change very often, sometimes during the same day. Also, the availability changes with the number of passengers that you are booking for. Try your flights with 1 passenger, 2 passengers, etc. It also looks as though some of the Sunday flights are more expensive (at least for MCO to PVD) than the rest of the week, so you might want to keep that in mind.
Just to give you an example:
On July 16th, as much as I hated to, we booked a flight coming back from MCO on Sept. 4th for $275.40 for the two of us because we wanted the latest nonstop flight. I've been checking the schedule several times day and night (sometimes at 1 or 2 in the morning) hoping to get something cheaper and I can tell you that the availability changes constantly. One morning (not sure what day, but I know it wasn't a Tuesday or Thursday) when I checked the availability, the $49 fare for Sunday was gone and replaced with a fare of $79-$124.
Well, I just checked this morning and the flight that we have was available at a lower rate!! The fare went from $275.40 to $175.40, so we now have a $100 credit.
Hopes this helps someone.
