Here's my question.....

If I purchase a round trip ticket on SW from Indy to Orlando and I get a cheaper offer afterward thru "ding fares" can I get a refund on my original ticket (the fare I was looking at purchasing today says Internet fare) and purchase the cheaper ding fare? I am new to flying southwest and thought I had heard somewhere that this could be done, but I wanted to double check.

I want to know the answer to this also.

As long as the cheaper fare is available for your exact, already-booked itinerary (same day, same flight, etc), you can get a credit for the difference...with no change fee. You can do this right online through the SWA site...I've done it several times and it's painless! It's one of the best things about SWA.

Do you get the money back or just a credit to be use on SW another time????

some get ticketless travel funds, other have gotten credit back to their cards....others have had to wait until they complete their trips to apply for the credit

it is like a crap shoot and will depend who answers your call at SWA

So,it does'nt matter if you have a "Fun" fare ticket or a "Refundable " ticket?
(I have one ,one way and one coming back)

Sorry...I was generally talking about the non-refundable type fares for the credit. I've been lucky enough to always get the Internet or Sale fares, so have always had to deal with credits vs. $$ back. We travel at least once a year, so credits are OK by us. SWA does a very good job of explaining the refund (or not!) policy for each category of fare. You should be able to get info on your particular fare(s) in the Travel Center of the SWA site.
