Southwest fare changes?

Whew, Southwest can be a fickle beast. I am searching flights constantly for our trip from Philly to Orlando from 12/25-12/31 (Disney soccer tournament). An hour ago the return flight we want dropped from $167 to $136. Thankfully I bought it in time, because it's back up to $167.

We haven't bought our 12/25 flight yet, I'm hoping it will drop back down from $167 to $136 also. My question - if I buy high and it drops, will they refund? Credit for future trip? Or has anyone rebooked at the lower price?

Thanks!

Yes, they will. But you have to ask for the refund - they don't automatically give it to you.
And you should also know that the "refund" is given in the form of points or a credit toward a future flight. You won't get it in cash.
HTH.

Tremendously, thank you! I'll be fine with a future trip credit. We're in Las Vegas in February for another tournament and Disney again in 2012 with my brother and parents. Thanks!

I am traveling on Thanksgiving Day. My fare dropped 50 bucks per ticket. I have 4 booked. The difference has to be used on a ticket who the original ticket was bought for. it also has to be used within 12 months from the original date of purchase, not the date of travel.

Excellent to know, thanks! If we get a drop in fares we'll use it for Vegas. I love these nearly free trips with DH for soccer! He'll be reimbursed for his flights, but a discount for mine in February would be welcome!

Seriously fickle beast. ::yes:: I've had my flight change 4 times in the course of 12 hours. I'm on a mad crazy watch for my flights to change and drop for our upcoming trip in November.
Still...I :lovestruc Southwest.
