This is NOT a big deal as we are 2 adults..... But. We both checked in this morning right at the 24 hr mark. I got A54 . My sister got b6. we would like to sit together. Should I just wait and board with b6 or should I board at a54 and just hope the no one sits next to me in the middle seat? Just wondering what would be the best option. Yes I know I could have bought early bird... Not that important..... Just curious what the experts think

The middle seats are the last to fill up, and there's only a dozen people boarding between A54 and B6, except for families with young children who board between the A&B. Unless your flight is continuing from another flight and is already 3/4 full, you shouldn't have any problems.

We had B1 & B2 on our flight from MCO-PIT earlier this month and we snagged the 2 seat exit row.

You can wait and board together, and you should not have a problem finding two seats together. My kids and I have often flown with B passes and found three seats together. They are usually toward the back, but we don't have trouble getting seats.

Or, you could board separately, with the first person saving the middle seat for the second person. This works best if you find a row with one passenger already in the aisle or the window seat because most solo passengers don't want the middle seat anyway.

My husband always gets A15-20 because he has automatic A status with Southwest. He gets on first and saves me a middle seat. (And while I am sure that people will say you shouldn't do this, I heard a Southwest employee telling a worried passenger to do this on our last flight.)

With the numbers you have, I think you will be fine either way, so do what makes you most comfortable!

Board first and safe the seat. Southwest has no problem with seat saving.

Southwest's policy is open seating. If you want the seat it is yours. Many will save seats and most will ask if the seat is saved.

On our recent flight to and home from Orlando we flew Southwest. I thought you had to pay extra for an "A" seating. For both flights we had B 20 something.

It was just my husband and myself. We didn't have any trouble finding 2 seats together on either flight.

Don't worry. Get in line with your friend who has the B ticket and I'm sure you'll be fine. Have a nice trip!

You have to pay extra to be checked in at 36 hours vs 24 hours. Depending on how many people pay for the early bird check-in, there is no guarantee earlybird will give you an A. You could also get an A without early bird, again depending on how many people pay for it. I flew PIT-MCO last month, I got A51 at 24 hours for the trip down and B1 for the trip back.

If there are only two people looking to sit together, there is no reason to worry about finding seats together unless you are in the middle of the C boarding group.
