The trip I was taking with my girls in December has turned into a family gathering. My brother is looking to get tickets on Southwest. The fares are there for the first part of the trip, but not the return. Any idea when they will be posted???

In the past---

July 29, 2004 Southwest released dates to January 14, 2005
August 19, 2005 Southwest released dates to January 9, 2006

Actually that is a good question. Typically, and I fly SWA at least 4 times a year....they have their fares available 4 months out. This trip we are taking in September I called them and they said due to the gas prices they were not sure when they would be released for the end of September. So, it was not until the end of June before it was available for us!
++ In July they went on sale for $49each way!!!!

Also, SW just opened to December 10 less than two weeks ago, on July 13.

I'm going with August 25th or August 28th. They usually release the new schedule when there is approximately 105 days left in the current schedule. Using this method I've only been off a day for the last three schedule releases, for what that's worth. ;)

Has anyone ever gotten a low ($39, $49, $59) airfare on SWA during December?

I'd need Nashville to Orlando...whenever there're good Dings, that's usually included. I'm just wondering if Florida flights in general are discounted in December as a rule.

we got a ding! deal last year during the first week of sept. for our trip nov. 25-dec. 4, 2005. $32 one way from jackson, ms for 6 of us. much cheaper than driving!

i also booked for my sister's family of 3 for the same dates (they came from louisville,ky.) & got a ding! on their seats the following weeks for $54 one way.

good luck!

We flew out of RDU last year the day after Thanksgiving and returned Dec. 3rd and got a ding of $28 each way!! Hoping for that again this Dec.!! Good luck!

Last December there were $39 DINGS from Pittsburgh to Orlando the first 2 weeks of December. Don't count on any DINGS after Dec 16th. There were $39 DINGS after Jan 4th also from Pitt-MCO.

I've also gotten $39 from RDU in May,Feb and December. The best thing about it is if you buy tickets at let's say $79, because you are worried about them selling out you can still take advantage of the lower fares, if they go on sale. You can make your new reservation and cancel the old, then use the conformation code to apply it to the purchase of the new lower rate. If you travel on SWA within the year whatever is left on the old ticket will be saved and you can apply it to another trip.
This is exactly what we did this trip. Tickets went on sale from $109each way to $79, bought them. Then they went on sale in July for $49 and we 'repurchased'. Works out great for us. 'Saved' $240 towards another trip!

Have a great trip!!!

PS) If you are traveling the week of Dec. 4th-8th be prepared, that is a big week for POPWarner Cheerleading and Football so the AllStar Sports etc.. will be packed with kids, and maybe some of those flights! My Dd's (12) and I will probably be there again....
GO TITANS!!! :cheer2:

I was planning our mini-trip for Nov. 30 - Dec. 3, so we may miss the crowds?

That is what I am bettign on again this year! I'm already booked at $79 each way but I'm sure I'll be able to get something slightly lower and have credit for next year's trip (which DH doesn't know about yet :rolleyes1 )

Last year I was able to fly on US Airways for $120 r/t per person for the first week in December but I had booked in AUgust so i was unable to take advantage of those $39 dings

We're looking too, but probably going to end up driving. Jet Blue has their fares posted now for BNA to MCO, but you have to connect through Kennedy in NY...

We went in mid January from Nashville to Orlando round trip. We got 5 round trip tickets with tax, etc. for a grand total of $377.00 :yay: Is there a chance of getting this good a price same trip from Jan 19-27 this year?
