We are flying SW to Orlando this summer from California. I did not purchase the EBCI. We are a family of 4 but are happy to sit in twos. It just seemed silly to pay the extra $80 when we fly Southwest to save money.

I think the EBCI is a personal preference. I like the fact that I have a wider variety of seats to choose from and can just get on the plane and be done with it. For me & my family, the idea that we can get on board, ensure that everyone is situated and settled down is worth it. Not everyone is as...er...challenged as we are in getting our proverbial stuff together! :lmao:

You're lucky in that you can sit 2 and 2. Perhaps a family of 3 or 5 might have a more difficult time finding 3 seats together or don't want to be split up.

I travel from Maryland to California several times a year to visit family and even though I'm a solo traveler, I still get EB seating. I like not having to wait in the terminal until my group is called. Again, totally personal preference. I hope you have a fantastic vacation!!

We do not purchase the EBCI when we are traveling to our destination; as I can be a computer at the 24 hour check in mark. We can usually land up getting in the late A group or early B group, and still manage to get seats together.

We do purchase EBCI for our return flight home. Takes the worry of having to check-in (or have someone check you in) at the 24 hour mark. Especially if you plan to be in a park. We just print our boarding passes when we get to the airport. This could be something to consider on your return trip home.

We did EBCI on our last trip and I purchased it for this trip. The only we reason we do buy it is we want to get seats together. I understand that you are okay sitting 2 and 2, but what if everyone else buys EBCI and when you check in that leaves you the last group to board and you end up sitting as ones? If that's cool then great if not it's cheap money to spend.

Got it simply because we are traveling during Christmas season and expect completely full flights. Now I don't have to worry about checking in right at 24 hours and getting a good number.
