I purchased EBCI for our flight to MCO. My understanding is that we get "automatically" checked in 36 hrs before our flight. 36 hrs was just over an hour ago. I'm a bit uneasy that this is going on "behind the scenes" so to speak.
Will I get an email saying that check in was successful?
If not, how can I check to be sure check in occurred?

Go to the SWA check-in site and put in your confirmation number and name. You'll need to do that to print your boarding pass anyway. (Or you can print it at the airport.) When you access your reservation, you'll see what boarding number the computer gave you.

Will do! Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

Just checked and rec'd a message stating, "Unable to complete your request...." I think I may not be able to check until the 24 hr window opens (??)

Correct, you will not be able to see it until after the 24 hour mark has come. You can go on then to check the numbers you got, and print your boarding passes if you choose to. There is no way to confirm that EBCI was done, no email or anything like that, and EBCI does not guarantee an A boarding pass, but I've always gotten good results using it.

I guess I just have to trust that it was done. I will check early tomorrow morning (24hrs before). I definitely DO see the little orange "EB" icon next to each of our names on the trip summary page of the Southwest site.
Thanks for your help!

I'm with you Crazymom... My trip is in a couple of weeks and I keep getting e-mails from SW saying I need to check at 24 hours to be assigned my boarding position. Which concerns and confuses me a little since I also purchased EBCI (and have double-checked that the little EB icon is there). Hoping to hear that all went well with you... I'm very nervous about this boarding procedure.

Yes, I got those emails too but disregarded them since we had EBCI. When we signed in to the website this morning, inside of the 24 hr window, we found that we HAD been checked in! Then there are options to print your boarding passes or send them in an email to be shown via your device. I sent them via email and will probably print them also at the airport kiosk just to be safe.

Those are GREAT numbers. The first ones after the reserved positions. You may go even higher as many of the 1-15 don't get used.

Ya! I remembered about the A1-15 being reserved for "Full Fare" customers so knew that getting A16-20 was a huge score!
In doing research here prior to buying our tix, some had theorized that the earlier you purchase you tix, the better your boarding position and of course purchasing EBCI makes a difference too. Well, I bought these tix the very day they went of sale.... at around 8am and purchased EBCI at the same time.

Thank you, this is good to know! I won't worry myself about it anymore now.

Okay, so I bought 3 tickets - 2 down to Mco from Chicago Midway, 1 return ticket. (I only enough pts for 3 tickets, was waiting for points from the month to show on SW cc, to be able to use them). I booked with points as soon as they opened bookings for Nov and Dec, early to mid May, I think. I bought EBCI for those 3. End of May I finally bought the 2nd return ticket we needed with pts, luckily it hadn't changed at all in price, so that was lucky! Bought EBCI then for that as well. Later in June, we rebooked the return flights when there was a price drop, (yay, saved almost 2000 pts!), and it seems the EBCI did move with that as the little orange icon is there. Then a couple of weeks ago, we moved our Black Friday morning flight to 1 pm on Thanksgiving day, same pts cost. EBCI moved as well. So, wondering when will we be in the queue for the early check-in? We signed up at the beginning of booking(except for the 1 ticket is behind a few weeks), so will we be checked in order of having signed up for EBCI so early, or did we lose that place and get moved a few months farther back in the queue when we redid our tickets? Hope that makes sense! This is the first year I signed us up right away, usually do it a few weeks before and get the B mid 30's. TIA!

NOT SURE BUT I THINK If you change flight numbers or days your ebci goes with you but to the back of the line. your second ticket home should not be listed next to the 1st but you could get lucky.

Hmm, okay, well guess I'm still in earlier than in past years, That is unless another big drop in points happens, lol. Guess we'll see for sure when they check us in! Thanks for responding!
