I am posting this on the general transportation board because time will be of the essence for some people traveling through DCA(National/DC). I am leaving tomorrow departing from DCA, flying Southwest.
This morning, I received an email and a text from Southwest telling me to get to the airport and hour or more before when I normally would. The bag conveyor belt is down due to construction issues at DCA. i am not sure about the carousels.
The airline went so far as to suggest that a carry-on is the best plan. Of course, carry-on is safest on any day if you can manage that. I will need to check luggage.
I called Southwest and they verified that I should get to DCA "an hour or more BEFORE our usual recommended time."
I will post more on the Southwest sticky thread if the situation warrants.
