Southwest Credit!

I don't know if there is a lesson to be learned here or not but I booked our N/S Orlando flights for Aug 26th out of Buffalo - returning Sep 3rd about 5 minutes after my dates were released back in April.
I ended up paying $1302 total for 4 of us. I thought I was getting a pretty good deal then given the price for similar flights out of Toronto.

Well - I now have a $620 credit after changing to cheaper fares for the same flights 3X - no Dings!
We ended up paying $682 for the 4 of us.

Now I have to go somewhere before April 19/07 to use up the credit! (Poor me! )

We just love Southwest also!

If you cannot use your credit before the year is out - just call and ask for an extension.

We did this in January 2005. I had booked flights for the 6 of us for a little over $800 (I was thrilled with this price) then the price went down and I ended up with a $360 credit. Since I had booked in October 2004, I only had until Oct. 2005 to fly - well we were going January 2006. I just called and they extended it and just told me to call them when I had completed by January 2006 travel and they could credit me back the $360!

We actually ended up flying with them again in July 2006 and when I returned from that flight, I gave them a call and within 3 days I had my money returned to my credit card!

It can really turn into a vicious cycle though! I have booked 3 times in the past year and have always gotten a better price and had credit available! It sure keeps you coming back to SWA.
