Southwest Booking

Made out reservations this mining at 7am! We are flying out of Columbus, OH. We depart on December 22 or WDW and head home on January 1. Each ticket was $360, nearly $100 more than the cost for the same dates in 2010.

Glad to see everyone getting such good deals. SW wasn't as bad as I had expected but flying out of Houston has become outrageous!! RT was $384.10pp... we booked Jet Blue out of Austin for about $220pp. It is an extra 2hour drive for us but it is saving us over $500!!!

I guess my deal wasn't too bad. $255.60 R/T per person out of Islip/:cool1: 11/9 to 11/13

I can't complain too much about the price on Southwest. We are flying MKE to MCO on Dec. 22 and returning Jan. 1 for $274 each. I don't care about about the times we are flying, they are non-stop and reasonable. Plus, no baggage fees.

We are flying AirTran in June and the baggage fees still bother me.

Booked our flight ..november 24th out of providence ri to orlando roundtrip for $140 each person..:) coming back dec 1st for the same price..so happy thats all set !

Booked this morning at 6:40. 4 Tickets RT non stop from MHT to MCO 11/17-11/24 for $1118. I got the flight times I wanted and a price I am happy with. I figured flying Thanksgiving week would be a heck of a lot more.

Tonight the same flights are now $1406.

My flight already went down in price so, I did the change thing. It gave me the option of a credit to future travel or refund on my credit card. I took the refund. So, I got a credit of (132.00). I guess, I'll check every day.

Hopefully there is no limit on the number of times I can get a credit.

My flight went down. So I canceled because it's within the 24 hour cancel window so I get a full refund back to my card. Now I need to decide if I should rebook at the lower price or wait to see if it goes down more. Does anyone know how many times you can cancel to get the full refund back to your card because it's within 24 hours before they won't let you anymore? So lets say I book it now and then in the morning I see it's lower again. Can I cancel for full refund without question even though I did it once already? I would rather not have credit that will expire in 1 year. I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Oh my goodness, I'm SUCH a rookie!! :confused3 We normally drive 17 hours to WDW, but we're flying out of Dallas in December. I am SO LOST. Please help....if I book NOW, can I get a partial refund if the flights go down? I don't really see the non-refundable option. :rolleyes1 It seems I've read a couple of posts talking about switching out flights if the fares go down. We want them to be DIRT CHEAP. :rotfl:

Also, I'm hoping to use Coke Rewards. Is it too late for that, or can I add this to our checkout? I'm sorry to seem so dense, but we rarely fly. Thanks for any help you guys can offer. :flower3:

Well, I just changed a flight because it went down and it gave me the option of credit voucher or credit back to my credit card. I took the credit on my credit card. I'm thinking because it is the 24 hour window it did offer the credit which totally makes sense based on your post. I haven't use SWA in a long time so, I'd be curious to know how many times you can cancel for a full refund. I'm kinda wondering how often the prices drops every 24 hours. Mine dropped in less than 24 hours. We plan to go to Vegas or LA on the credits so, I'm okay with a voucher going forward.

What did you get for prices on each flight? I didn't see them under $140 out of MHT and I was kind of bummed about that.

I read you post again after I typed mine and figured that's what happened with you. I didn't know you would get that option online or not so I just called and canceled the whole thing. But it's good to know that option is there online.

Based on the way the November flights are going, I don't see them going down too much. Many of the Wanna Get Away flights are already sold out or increasing price due to demand. SW will give you credit toward future airfare if the price goes down. I believe the Coke rewards deal is over and does not carry for December dates.

Only advice I can give is if the price is right then book it.

Glad you're happy and you got a good price on your flights.

Honestly, I think most people should go in with a realistic price range on how much they are willing to pay for their flights and as soon as that range is hit pull the trigger and buy the tickets. I've heard too many horror stories about people waiting to try and get the lowest price and then they miss out on a reasonable price and have to overpay.

For me, if my flight prices go down by $30 I'm not going to sweat it. I'm locked in at a good price already. A price my budget can handle.
