Finally!! Rate for my dates in late Jan. aren't very good though! Maybe I'll have to wait a little longer.

Not quite what I had hoped. The agent told me to check back in a day or two and they might have some specials loaded in to the system by then. I think I'll take her advice.

I just went in to check rates for January, and received a message stating that they are discontinuing published scheduled service from Hartford to Orlando in late November! Got the same message when I tried to book out of Providence. Has anyone heard that Southwest is leaving those airports?

Nevermind - it is now showing fares out of Hartford. Phew - had me worried there for a minute!!!!!

That would explain why there are no good fares available for BDL -- I couldn't believe that they would have all sold out in just a few hours!

Now what are we "yankees" going to do?

They must still be in the process of loading the fares to the system. They are now showing fares out of Hartford (and out of Providence) but if you actually try to select a flight and continue, it says the reservation system is unable to price the flight selected.

Guess I'll just keep trying.

I'm gonna cry! First of all, the only flights available for our dates (including one day prior) are $135 ea way or higher. AND....we need to return on March 6th and the schedule only goes to the 3rd! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for their specials.....

I'll keep my fingers crossed that they are still entering info .... that may explain why the day I want to go has nothing available except full fare ($183) !!

It would just drive me crazy to pay so much after watching low fares for so many months!

What is one to do in this case, go ahead and book the flight there, and wait to book the return flight. Or do you have to book both at the same time?

In regards to those flying out of Hartford -
I just called them and told them how it wouldn't let me book it online. They booked over the phone for me using the internet rates. No problem!
I had already had my flight out of BDL on 1/13 and was waiting for my return flight. I think I enjoyed knowing I had a one way ticket to Florida. Sadly, now I have a return flight for teh 18th. :)

Jeanmr1,

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I'm trying to do Pres Week flights (Tues-Tues) and on line shows the $79 fare but when I try to book it says the system can't make the reservation. They told me on the phone they'd homor the internet rates. I'll let you know.

JEANMR1,

Do mind sharing what total fare you got (with taxes & such)? Just trying to figure out if I'm going to bother to call & book yet.

Thanks!
Shannon

Well, I just did something I've never done before. I booked outbound on SWA and return on Spirit Airlines. I've been waiting for SWA to open up because I had a $400 credit to use. I am not really happy with the price I'm paying, but I did it anyway. We are flying out of Detroit and the $99 fare was gone already. I am only interested in the flight with one stop -- no plane change. I took the $162 "fun fare". All of the returns on SW require a plane change, so I then purchased one way non-stop return tickets on Spirit Air for $119 each. All in all I paid way too much for these tickets to Orlando, but at least the whole thing was reduced by the $400 credit. We are taking a Disney Cruise and I want to nail this down.

If my prices go down, I will see about getting some credit for trips in the future. For now, I'm happy because I'm done and my cash outlay at this point is $800 for 4.

For us the only return flights that would work for use has a lay over in MD. I have very bad ears every landing and take off is very painfull

For the price I will have to fly AA from Logan

Just booked my date for going 2/26 but have to wait for coming home 3/5! The fares were worse than last year! I had to book fully refundable! I had ticketless funds to use towards it but the price was very high! ($774.40 for 4 before applying my credit) Last year they never offered discounted fares from Manchester and the flights sold out within a day or two of being released! Southwest is sure taking advantage of their command of the MHT to MCO market!

One way back from MCO to BDL I paid $87.60 each (that is the $79 fare along with taxes). Not the best, but I'm not complaining either.
I had also called SW earlier to split out some reservations and get get separate confirm numbers and they told me the price went down and I had $30 credit each. I used that towards the tickets today. If these tickets go down in the future, I'll use the credit on future flights. I really love their customer service - so hard to find anywhere else.

Heck, I'm complaining! $179 one way out of Albany! All this waiting for nothing.

Has anyone had luck with Southeast Airlines?

Follow up to earlier. Over the phone they honored the $79 (OW) fare and I got a confirmation for 4 tickets for what ended up being $196 each (all were connecting flights) )BDL-MCO) They even told me they'd give me the on line booking credit for Freq flyer! Of course, I really wanted to fly out Monday, so I just went back and priced up Monday - Tuesday and low and behold it's only $20 more. So I went to change my flight and it wouldn't let me do it because the original was booked over the phone. However, I could cancel, which is what I did, and rebook with Monday, the net is Mon 2/21- Tuesday 3/1 $216.80 each. I have a non stop on Monday that gets me in by 2PM and I now have a confirmed internet reservation that if they drop the fares I can change easily. It's been a roller coaster, but overall we're finally in pretty good shape.

pamole - what are your dates of travel. If it's either weekend surrounding pres week, take the flights before they're totall sol out - even at full fare.

I do remember last year, that after booking initially on 9/18 for $220/ticket, we rebooked it on 10/10 when the a special came out which was the $79 that I now currently have. I still keep checking. Love to see a $49 special!!!

Something is wrong - this morning my Dec. flight was down to $49 each way.

Just put in my dates fir the beginning of Feb (from PVD) and the chart read:
Feb 3
Promotional fare: $79
Internet One Way: $129

Feb 8
Promotional fare: $79
Internet One Way: $104

Never seen the Internet rates more than the Promotional rates - I'll wait and make sure thaey got all the bugs out of their system!!!
