Southwest boarding position - I hope we can still together

Thanks for the feedback. A little worried b/c our flights are late in the day. It's our first time flying SW so feel like a total newb. It sound like I can just get the EB for me and my daughter. So that way we will have a better shot but not have to pay for everyone.

That stinks how demanding that lady was. I would have been begging and pleading and so thankful to anyone who could accommodate. Even across the aisle from dd would be ok. She's used to long cartrips and is very easily bribed -lol

Thanks for filling me in. Happy travels!

Yes you can purchase EBIC for one/some/all of your party individually, sorry I missed that in your earlier post.

I flew PIT-BWI-MCO last year. There were over 40 of us who were continuing at BWI. We were allowed to move after the head count, almost everyone moved to front in scattered seats. So when the first people got on at BWI, there were not many seats together in the front.
I have a client who uses Southwest and he said the frequent business travelers have it on auto dial and almost always get the A seats. I don't care, as long as I get one. It's only just over an hour though I doubt seriously someone will be dying to sit next to a 4 year old and a 20 month old..

I'm not sure how it works. If I pay for the EBC do I still have to check in 24 hours in advance or is it automatic with the EBC payment? Thanks!

With a 4yo and a baby you will qualify for family boarding between the a and b groups. That said I would still try at T24 for an A boarding pass at T24 or purchase EBCI if you have other seat preferences.

If you purchase EBCI you will be checked in automatically at T36 no need to do anything. At T24 you can then go online and print your boarding passes and see what boarding position you got.

You will be checked in automatically 36 hours before your flight. At 24 hours before, you can sign in and print your boarding pass, but you don't have to. They'll do it for you at the airport if you don't.

Thanks! I just purchased the EBCI for the family because I started worrying about the 4 year old. The 20 month old would be perfectly happy seated apart from the family (not that it would happen, lol) but the 4 year old has separation anxiety and would have a meltdown.
I appreciate this thread because it has given me so much info! I have been on the fence about the EBCI because I got such a deal on the tickets but I'm more comfortable with increasing the chances of getting to sit together. I would think (as an adult) I would not want an unfamiliar child seated next to me. Too much liability there. Also as an adult (regardless of how rude and demanding the mother with the 2 children was) I think I could suck it up and not feel the overwhelming need to sit next to my travelling companion; I would have given up my seat.
