Southwest Boarding Passes?

Our 3 night cruise is the last leg of our vacation. Southwest Airlines lets you print your boarding passes within the 24 hour window before your flight. Does anyone know if you can get this printed on the cruise? If so, who should I ask to do this?
Thanks!

Is it still .25 per page to print? and can you determine if a printer works before you get on line?

If I have my mom check in for us 24 hrs before the flight (while we are enjoying ourselves on CC), can I go on-line later that day and print the passes?

Anyone with recent experience with this?

There is no need to print it. Just check in on line while you are on the ship. Then the next day when you get to the kiosk at the airport to check in it will ask if you want to print a boarding pass. It is free there. I just did this two weeks ago and it worked fine.

We completed our cruise on the Magic just yesterday. On Friday afternoon, approximately 5:00, sent the husband to print this at the internet cafe. We had not previously logged on their system and from start to finish, he was done in 10 minutes or less. We were able to get "A" boarding pass and I was worried about this because didn't want to give up the time in Castaway Cay. Total cost including printing 4 boarding passes was $5.25. Even with the number of pre-boarders at Orlando, imagine nearly everyone has small children, we easily were able to secure 4 seats together on a completely full flight. In the end, we gave up 2 of our seats so that a mom with 2 little, terrified boys could sit together. It all worked fine. A short, 2 hour flight home to Indiana and we were still high on the pixie dust.

or you can sign up at www.boardfirst.com, it's $5 per boarding pass. They will secure a A boarding pass for you. I think that's what we will do. It's worth the $20 to me, for the return flight.

I go the free route as well (almost free really) ... I pay the per minute fee in the Internet Cafe for the couple of minutes needed to check-in online, then actually print the boarding passes once we arrive at the airport. The online check in is all that's necessary to secure your boarding pass group (A, B or C). So I don't pay to print out the passes onboard the ship, and just get them printed at the airport.

BIL printed passes for us after we boarded at CC around 5:00. Total cost was less than $4. He said it was very easy and fast.

Thanks Dee...that is great news..can I do this 24 hours before my flight????
edited to say thanks to all - I have the answer. :yay:

I always have my MIL do it from her home while we're on vacation. At the airport, they will print your boarding passes. The only difference is that it will be an "A", withe the number and and "R" for reprinting. But it makes no difference. It just shows like that because Southwest's computers will know that you have accessed your account more than once, but you still get your original checkin letter.

Try board-a.com it is the same thing but donation and all you do is email the info to them

Okay, I just checked in but it told me to go print my pass....do i just ignore this?
How does the system know I have checked in?????
Hope this works!

You can print now, or skip and print at the airport, either way you're checked in.

Yep, you can just ignore the print now.

I'm still trying to convince my DH of that fact. I have a stack of boarding passes here that he has printed out when I've had him check me in when I'm traveling. I never print them out when I check him in and it has always worked just fine.
If you're more comfortable going through the whole process you can print it out at home then re-print it at the kiosk or the check-in counter at the airport as well - but you don't have to. As long as you see the pass on the screen you're good.

What we do:
Find a friend or relative who is stuck at work while you're traveling and have them put it on their calendar. Doesn't cost a thing - except maybe a promise to do the same for them when they are traveling. Much nicer than trying to schedule your vacation around a check-in time.

I don't have aprinter hooked up at home right now which is why I didn't print.....but I beleive you guys!

Thanks again - off to MNSSHP pirate: with the Hannosmom and PoohJen gang :grouphug:

Take it from a Southwest Emp. (Me) The best thing to do, if you are not going to buy internet time, give your res (make sure your confermation code is on it) to a friend at home, and ask them to check you in 24hrs before departure and then just getthe reprit at the airport. No need to waist money even if it 4$ You can use that for a drink on the plane, or another on the ship, or even tip money for a porter at the port.

Here's one more question...

My mother is going to check us in while we are at CC because we fly out at 12:50 the day we disembark. I plan to print out what every on-line screen will look like, as well as have her check us in (with my help) before we leave for our trip. She is not that comfortable with computers, but I am sure if we do the above prep she'll be fine. I thought about asking a friend, but their schedules are all crazy, and I really feel my mom is the most reliable one to ask.
When we get back on the ship can I go on to the SW site and verify that she was able to check us in, and see what letter she was able to get for us?
If I decide to print the boarding passes when I check to see what she got, do I still have to check in at MCO? Is that done at the kiosk, where I could print the passes anyways? If I have to do that, I guess it makes no sense to print my passes on board??
Sorry, I tend to ramble before my coffe kicks in.. ;)

Sue:

I know that I will have a wireless package onboard and Courtney & Kelli will probably have an unlimited regular package for use on ship (they'll die without being able to chat with their friends).

You could login to one of the two accounts without having to purchase your own package.

Hi Lisa!
I think part of your message made it to my e-mail, but not to the forum...weird!

Our flight out is at 12:50. I am sure we'll be fine, but I am trying to save as much time as possible, just in case...

Thanks for the offer, but I'd hate to take internet time away from any teenager...unless it is one of my own ;) . I may give my two oldest one of the packages to share, with the stipulation that they leave me 20 minutes on the day before we leave. After I check the flights, they can blow the rest.
