Southwest Birthday Celebration starting??

Oh well...this is a bummer.

So think there will be any July 4th sales?:rolleyes1:idea: We need another 35% day. :thumbsup2

One of my flights for december went down a bit. My flights for sept/oct are a little more expensive than they were last week.

The sales from Chicago MDW are basically non-existent. AKA--crappola.

But, as I have been saying on other threads....SWA has no competition out of MDW now that they also own Air Tran. SWA does not need to lower their prices out of MDW.

What sale???

The prices are not anything to make a person want to rush to book.

Does not look like a sale to me either. And its only on Tuesday and Wednesday flights.

Still more $300 more expensive than what I bought on Airtran in March...including baggage fees. :) So glad I bought my tickets when I did! Southwest just does not have good deals from Indy to Orlando anymore.

UGH... I was hoping for a discount but no luck! My fares are still the same when I booked a few months ago - including last weeks sale....

Same out of MKE. :headache:

I was just going to post that. Ugh. Does anyone go on vacation on a Tuesday or Wednesday?

Maybe it will be able to help some people, though.

I just posted on the other thread....got my coupon for 30% off but it's only valid for travel 6/26,6/27,6/29 and 7/2-7/6. Must be purchased today.....that doesn't cover our dates

So glad I rebooked at the fares offered last week vs waiting for the supposed "sale" this week...I did save a nice chunk of change last week (flying out on a Thurs FWIW...)

*ahem*

I just remembered we are leaving for vacation on the 4th of July...which is a Wednesday. :upsidedow :rotfl:

I work 11pm-7am and just checked. Prices are a little higher than when I was checking last week.:confused3 Maybe later today, prices will go down. I've never flown Southwest, but since American is over $300.00, was willing to give them a try.

I noticed you fly out of Dallas too. We've always flown out of DFW and use the Park n Fly over off S. Royal Lane for parking. Do you know if there is one over close to Dallas Lovefield? We've never flown out of there. Thanks!

We have always flown out of DFW as well for the past 10 years, we have always flown with American Airlines non stop EVERY year. I have not been to Dallas Love Field since I went there on a elementary school trip when I was young. :) But we snagged a good fare with Southwest during the fall sale & paid approx $514 total for me & my son to fly round trip. We chose the only two "Direct- no plane change with stops" flights they had. It is a bummer, though, it adds two additional hours approx onto what used to be a 2:30 hour flight from Dallas because Southwest can't fly "non-stop" like American.
But American's flights are out the roof right now & they are still in negotiations, which does not make me feel good.

So, we are first time Southwest customers this year. I hope all goes well !!!

In answer to your "park & ride" question. We always go thru Supershuttle & have a towncar take us to/from the airport. It allows my car to stay in the garage for the full 8 days & it is a nice, fun touch to having someone "pamper" you a bit on your vacation. :santa::santa::santa:

I live well over an hour away from the airport, so a towncar to my home would be a little more expensive than I'd like.:rotfl:

I agree American has gotten totally out of hand since Air Tran left last Nov. I flew Spirit this past May and got a great deal ($148.00 before carry on fees). I did carry on only. I also paid the $100.00 r/t to upgrade to the Big Front seats. Even with the bag fees and the seat upgrade Spirit was still alot cheaper than American or Southwest, who were both well over $400.00. I'm flying Spirit again in Sept and got another good deal of $148.00 r/t again. Both Spirit flights were nonstop. I like getting to Orlando in 2 1/2 hours.:rotfl: I'm still looking for airfare for our Oct/Nov trip, but haven't found anything I'm willing to pay yet. I was sure hoping Southwest would go down, even though I hate that they can't fly nonstop to MCO.

Just booked with US Air. Gave up on SW. US Air had $168 round trip for me and the lowest we could do with SW with a decent arrival time was $236. Been watching them for months as well as peeking at other airlines and I saw that $168 for really good flight times so I jumped on it. I noticed the other airlines dropped their prices too for my location. Maybe for some others too... :cool1:

I received an email with a one-time use code for 30% off, valid today only. Travel dates are quite limited though: 6/26-27,6/29, 7/2-7/6.

I've been haunting the SW site all day today, and prices from MDW to MCO dropped about an hour ago :confused3. Nothing changed from MKE so I don't know if it's different anywhere else or not, but it might be worth checking again.

I don't blame you, I am less than thrilled at wasting 2 hours each way, but I was getting worried with the airfares being sooooo high & airfares being so high for so long. I may still change the outbound flight, the only "direct flight" was late in the evening, arriving at 8:50 pm, uggh. So, I am holding out to see if they lower the 6:35 am flight out with one stop & one plane change. That would be odd, I have NEVER done a "plane change" on a flight to Orlando.
