Southwest and the Pooh Sized

We're looking at some really nice fares available from STL to TPA on Southwest ($44). We've never flown Southwest. DW and I are both Pooh-sized -- are they going to make us buy two seats each? We both can use standard airline seat belts (no extenders), and we'll have two little kids to sit next to. We've never had a problem with Allegiant or United; just wondering how Southwest and/or their St Louis or Tampa people are about this.

i'm pretty sure SW's rule is as long as you can sit comfortably in the seat with the armrests down. I don't have any experience with that or anything... but I watch their show "Airline" on A&E and that appears to be the procedure.

Technically, SW wants each Pooh Sized person to buy an extra seat.

However, you may easily be able to get around this if the children you are flying with are very young. I believe if each under the age of 5, you and your DH will be able to preboard. (One adult with each child.)

Personally, I always splurge for an extra seat. I could probably get away with not buying an extra seat, but I enjoy the comfort the extra seat provides.

Plus, it is a win-win situation, since SW offers a refund if the plane was not overbooked.

IF you fit in the seat with the arm rest down, can use the regular lapbelt and not have "over spillage" you are not pooh size. You will not have to purchase 2 seats.
