Is there anyway that you can find out where you are stopping?

If you leave Orlando and are going to San Antonio there are flights that have 1 stop but you don't change planes. I wouldn't mind stopping in New Orleans or Houston but I don't want to have to fly to Chicago or Baltimore and then to San Antonio it just seems so out of the way even if I don't have to change planes.

Southwest has cut down on the number of non-stops to only 2, which aren't at great times so I was wondering if there was a way to find out.

You can try checking flights Orlando to Houston or New Orleans and see if your flight # shows up. I kind of doubt they would have a 1 stop going from Orlando to Chicago or Baltimore and then to San Antonio. The idea is to sell it as an "almost" non-stop. What is the date?

There are flights that go Orlando to Denver to San Antonio - nothing is out of the question

I just did a little poking around and didn't see any "1 stop, no plane change" - but schedules are always changing.

Your best bet is to call.

All you have to do is click on the schedule where it says "1 stop" and it will tell you where you stop.

Edited to say...no it doesn't lol...but I know there's a way to find out on the website.

If you call, they will tell you. We flew to Seattle last summer and stopped in Nashville. It really wasn't bad and gave us the chance to move forward. They also allowed us to walk around the terminal a bit if we wanted a real bathroom or snack.

It takes some digging but if you want to do it yourself, you can use the Flight Schedule page on SWA (http://www.southwest.com/flight/view-schedule.html) to look at all the flights from Orlando for your time period.

If you use the "Download Schedule" part of the schedule page, you can get a PDF document for all the flights originating from Orlando/MCO for your dates. Then you can search that document for the same flight number as yours to see where the stop is.

For example, for flights in April from Orlando to San Antonio that have one stop but no plane change (#3843 from what I saw) the matching flight and stop was BNA/Nashville.

As the PP says, the 1 stop no plane change is kind of nice, because you don't have to worry about connecting to your flight and you get to change seats once everyone else exits.

Probably BWI. I went further into the ticketing process, and at least the mobile site gives you the stop information before you get to the purchase page.

I'd say less than 10% chance of it being BWI. There would almost certainly be a plane change on that route. From Houston I've stopped in Jackson MS and Birmingham AL. I'd bet Houston or one of those 2 would be more likely.

it should tell you how long the entire trip will take compare it to how long a non stop is if you are worried about going out of the way the overall flight time should be all you really care about. If you are worried about possible delays because landing and taking off in busy/bad weather airports you will need to look further.

I flew a one stop a couple of weeks ago, PIT-BWI-MCO. A non-stop is usually around 2 hrs 20 min, this was 4 hours total including a half hour on the ground at BWI. 41 people stayed on the plane, the FA announced when they were doing the count. After they took the count, we could switch seats.

I think it's moot now. The flight I found yesterday doesn't exist today; and there's a new thread where someone was told SouthWest is combining all the future SW and AT flights over this weekend.

OP, if a flight shows "1 stop no plane change" and you want to know where the stop is:

Click on one of the price options for that flight, and then click on CONTINUE.

On the next page, near the top of the screen, you will see what looks like the page of a calendar showing your date. Next to that you will see your departure and arrival times. In between the departure and arrival times, it will tell you where the plane is stopping.

Example:
6:25 am depart Orlando, Florida (MCO) on Southwest Airlines
stops in Chicago IL
6:30 am arrive in Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS)

I'm making up the times and cities for the example.
