Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards

My DH applied for the card with 50,000 points and we just got the card today. However, I don't see anywhere any reference to the 50,000 points ....did we do something wrong?

Autumn

I don't think there was any paperwork about the rewards included. When I called to activate the card the woman confirmed the 50,000 points would be added.

This is interesting! Might be worth signing up as I have a couple trips in the planning stages for 2013...

I applied for the card, was immediately approved, received, activated, and used the card. Now I am waiting for that first bill and having the points deposited to my account. Chase.com shows I have a "bill due date" of 6/20/12, so the bill has to show up here soon, right? DD needs to fly to Detroit on July 1, and I'd like to use the points. Any guess how soon Chase will post the bill so the points credit to my SW account? I don't know how far in advance of a due date they print/mail their bills. I guess my second question would be, how soon will SW change that "Wanna Get Away" fare? I am not sure how long I should wait... airfare from BOS is currently $214 one way, $240 from MHT. I am willing to buy the fare to DTW and wait to use points for the return fare (on 7/15) if need be. Just can't decide what to do!

Bummer. Too late for me. I need to become a regular on this board so I can jump on these deals.

It has come and gone before. The offer will likely be back again before too long. Don't give up hope! :thumbsup2

Not sure on how often they will change their fare, but you can call and find out when your statement date ends. It's different for different people. DH's card is the 16th, mine is the 8th. His points were in his SW account two days after his billing statement closed.

By law, your credit card company must deliver your bill to you 21 days prior to the day that it is due. So in your case, the bill must arrive on, or prior to, May 30th. It's been my experience that there is less than a week's time between when the statement is generated and when the points show up in my account. You should see those points in your Rapid Rewards account by the time you receive your bill if everything goes right. I highly recommend monitoring your Chase account online. You can pull up your statement even before it arrives in the mail and you will be able to see if the points are on it.

My due date is 6/14 and the bill came Monday (I think). As soon as I looked, the points were in my Southwest account. You may want to look. Yours may be there already.
