We are seriously thinking of going mid-late August 2015. Anyone here fly on Southwest to MCO August of this year from Houston and mind telling me how much your roundtrip airfare was? Just trying to see what type of fares I should be looking for to budget in. Thanks!

You can check out the fares for the legacy airlines now. That should give you some idea. Don't count on Southwest having the lowest fares.

I will definitely look into all airlines, but I always seem to default to Southwest. I just find that normally after you look into baggage fees with other airlines that it's a wash a lot of times. I priced some on Kayak and Delta seems to be cheapest right now at $388 pp but Southwest is averaging $350 pp for the fares that are released right now. I guess I am really just wondering (hoping) if anyone happened to get a sale fare for late August this year.

Look for " sale" fares around April/May... Sign up for Ding and it will tell you when the fairs go down:)

Not sure if you do cc, but I believe SW cc is offering the 50000 points when you purchase a certain amount. I got 2 of them (1 husband and 1 mine) had enough points to fly 6 of us roundtrip from New England to Florida with some points leftover. Just a thought....

I have found it $100 or more cheaper a person to drive to Austin and fly out instead of Houston with SWA. Austin also has Jet Blue as well. I am flying in November for $188 Sunday to Sunday.

Yep we flew our of Austin last week $190 pp direct to Orlando on jet blue

Yes I got the Southwest cc back in 2011 when we were planning that Disney trip and that is the ONLY way we were able to fly all 7 of us! Thank God for that card! I am planning on trying to build up my miles again over the next year but won't have the benefit of 50,000 miles this time around. There will only be 5 of us flying this time so there's that...I will look into airfare from Austin. Thanks for the tip! Why oh why is airfare so expensive from Houston? :faint: Ugh!
