Do we have to book a senior as a senior? The web price for Southwest Air for an adult is much less than the senior rate. Other than trying to book the trip does anyone know if my 78 year old Mom can be booked as an adult to save quite a bit of money.

thank you

You absolutely do not have to book her with a senior rate. The web rate is fine. I flew my Dad (71) on SW last year and booked the web fare since it was cheaper by about $200 r/t!

One benefit of booking the senior rate is that it's fully refundable. Obviously it's not worth it if the price is significantly more, but if it's just a few $$ more it might be worth it for that reason.

I buy my todder the "Wanna get away" adult fares, lol!

Like a pp said, the rules are different, but SW is so easy to work with anyway that I don't think it matters.

Does the 'wanna get away' fare change very often or is the web price fairly static. I'm having a hard time pushing that final button even though I'm saving almost $700 dollars by flying out of Buffalo rather than Toronto - I am pathetic and I know it.

I have noticed on SW that the prices can go up and down many times a week. If you are saving that much money, I would book it now. If you find it cheaper later you can cancel and rebook. That is the great thing about SW.

Thank you. I booked it but spelled a first name wrong on the ticket! I've e-mailed Southwest Air for help but it takes up to five days for a reply.

Oh, and the tickets are non refundable but can be changed at no cost.
