My family will be flying SWA to Denver in May. This will be our first time flying SWA. I would like any info you all have on boarding and seat assignments.

I am aware that I should call them or go online 24 hours prior to our flight to get our boarding pass, and preferably pass A to hopefully all sit together (do I have that right so far?).

Now my question is this, we fly Providence to Chicago/Midway on to Denver...how do I reserve seats for the flight from Chicago to Denver?

Once we board the plane, does anyone have any suggestions for good seats, up front, down back???

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

You cannot check in over the phone.

24 hours before your FIRST flight you can check in on line for all flights on that ticket (In your case for both the PVD-MDW and MDW-DEN flights)

I have sat all over the plane, inspite of what I read I can't tell a difference. On SW I actually like to sit near the back. IF the planes not full that's where the empty seats will be.

When you check in for your first flight (at the 24 hours mark) you will get your boarding passes for all segments. Because you are checking in more than 24 hours before your connecting flight, you will almost certainlly have A passes. However, if you have a tight connection, there's a chance they will have already started boarding by the time you get to the plane, so you may just get what seats you get (if you have small children, don't worry - they will move people around so they won't have to sit by themself if that happens).

As for which seats - to me, other than the exit row seats, they are all the same. What I look for is who to sit by and near. Avoid the noisy people, sit by the small quiet people.

Thank you so much, thought I could do it via phone but online is fine! We will have a laptop with us for the return flight in securing the boarding passes for the trip back home! :goodvibes

You need to check in online not by phone and even if you get "B" you should not have any problems sitting together.

Once you check in for your first flight you will also get your second flights boarding passes. As far as where to sit.....I like to sit in the front because I feel it is a smoother ride, over the wings it seems louder and in the back it just takes a little longer to get off the plane.

That is just so true!! I always seem to easily get seats in the front of the plane most of the time we fly BUT one time we did not....we were the FIRST ones to have to Board (making you wait forever while the rest of the plane boards and gets settled) and then we were the last ones OFF when we landed and had to wait for EVERYONE on the plane to deboard....hmmmm...I do not want the back ever again!!! I actually was on the plane LONGER than people sitting in the front. :headache:

You can check in with mobile check in on your cell phone, I did it for our return flight right from the hoopdee doo review, then you are just reprinting the boarding passes at the airport :goodvibes
