Booked SouthWest for March 2009. At time of travel, we will have our DD1 sit on my lap. Do I have to call Southwest now (immediately) to add an infant, or I can wait until anytime prior to our departure?

DW wanted to see if there will be any further seat sale (right now we booked for $149+160 round trip), if there will be some $69 or so for BUF->MCO, we will be better off buying a adult ticket for the infant.

I let them know I had a lap baby every time I spoke to them. However, the important thing is that you need to tell them at the counter with baby and ID and they will add baby onto the primary travellers boarding pass. I'm guessing you will be taking a car seat then, if you are thinking of buying a ticket for the baby??

Thank you. I guess there is no rush to inform them, and I could possibly do it a few weeks prior to my departure?

We will fly with SW in Jan for DCL trip. This will be our first time with SW and we will see if everything is workable with DD1 on lap. If it works fine and DD1 behaves well, we will keep it as planned. If not, we will hope to buy her a seat (yes, we will bring car seat in that case) for the March trip, if there is another seat sale.

Thanks to Disney and SouthWest, we are making two trips in 2009 :)

P.S. I read from somewhere but I forgot - would hope to clarify: Are we eligible to do web check-in if we are traveling with an infant? We hope to get the A boarding group if possible.

you can do web check in to get an A boarding pass, but you still have to take that boarding pass to the counter for them to add baby on.
