Is there any place in the Universal area that I will be able to get pre sweetened tea on ice? Not Nestea from bottle
Parks?
Citywalk?
Hotel/Resort rest.?

Thanks,
Sharon

Gosh, I feel I should know the answer to this. I always order iced tea and it seems, when I do, I am always asked "Sweetened or unsweetened?" But I can't remember specifically about UO.

Sweetened iced tea is very common in the South so maybe what I'm remembering is off-site places. But since it is so popular, chances are at least some places have it. Best bets would be NASCAR Cafe and Motown Cafe.

I'm very certain it is sold at various locations throughout the parks, but I'm not sure exactly where. *will have to Hunt*

My husband had sweet tea at the NBA restaurant on Citywalk.

Lombard's Seafood Grille at US did not have it.

I don't think we asked about it at any other places.

Good to know that it may be somewhere there :)
I know on our past trips to Disney I could never find anywhere that had it on site.
Here is hoping that I don't have to go a week again with out my tea in Orlando this vacation :p

When did you go to Lombards??? I recall getting sweet tea there this past aug.

I think most places have it, you just have to ask!!

We were there last week and the waitress told us they didn't have it. Maybe they were out or she just didn't think we needed the sugar!

To be made properly for a restaurant, sweet tea has to be sweetened with simple syrup, not sugar. Fresh-made sweet tea does not keep well; if it sits for more than 4-5 hours it starts getting cloudy.

I'm guessing that Universal serves so many guests who have such a wide spectrum of taste that they find it saves labor to just let guests sweeten their own tea w/ table sugar.

Southern Traveler's Trick: make your own simple syrup and carry some in a small pocket bottle. Here's a recipe:

2 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 cup water
Mix sugar, corn syrup and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool completely at room temperature. Pour into a covered container and refrigerate. Can be stored indefinitely in refrigerator.
Makes 2 cups.

Simple syrup doesn't need to be refrigerated if carried for short periods, but you don't want to store a big container at room temp., it will get moldy over time.

Thanks for the recipe! I recently moved back to PA from WV and people here think sweet tea means Liptons Raspberry tea. Yuck!

I check with one of my Sources, and he assured me that most places DO have sweetened tea available. The carts probably don't, though.

They may have "sweetened" tea but its NOT Sweet tea!
