Southern Elegance's website indicates that Disboards users voted them #1 in Orlando??

I just went to their website to check prices and they have this scrolling banner that states they were voted # 1 by Disboard users.
Not to sound completely stupid, but are they referring to this website??? If so I did not realize we voted on them, was there a poll?

I come by here all the time and have never seen this poll.

Plus the offical transport sponsor is Florida Tours so it sounds to me like Southern Elegance (who I have never heard of) is trying to get free advertising without paying. (Wonder if Pete can get a cease and desist order)

Earning it would have required a survey which no one so far seems to recall. So unless there was a survey... Also, using the boards name is probably a violation of copyright laws. (The names are copyrighted) I can't imagine Pete gave them permission since they don't pay the fee.

I hate to be rude, but.... is there some reason that ALL of your posts are on how great this company is???

That is pretty pathetic of that is the case! A whole six Disers voted for them.

Y0u have got to be kidding! It only listed TWO companies! If that is the poll.... talk about false advertising. (Just convinces me not to use them if you have to resort to that!) By the way, I was not making up the posts by Weddingmom. She had posted six times as of last night and all of them were wonderful reviews for this limo company. (Makes me just a little curious.)

I have personally talked to this company on the phone and was quite impressed with them. I booked them for my upcoming trip. If you were to look deep into a lot of claims that companies make, you would find that their claims aren't all they make them sound to be.....either way, the poll that was shown above did show them as being voted number 1...you can't deny them that. And who cares...either you use them or you don't....you make the final call.

The polled showed that more users would use them over Murray Hill. That is a long way from being voted number one. The poll was not even posted as a who is number one.

I think that we have to realize that these boards are free due to sponsorship. So if you want to use the board name you need to pay the fee. It is that simple. If anyone can use the name then why would anyone bother to pay a sponsor fee. And then the boards either cease to exist or start charging.

Personally if you read these boards enough you figure NONE of these companies are perfect. A lot depends on YOUR driver. I just rent a car. It generally does not cost but a few dollars more and I really perfer the freedom.

Hmmmm, New to this Board, felt is was to help others on quality service & experience. Just got back a week ago & felt I was to give credit where credit was due. Had also completed a survey for WDW about the parks. Didn't know i was posting too much.

I've read about Southern Elegance many times on these boards. As I remember, most of the comments were positive. The company I chose for our trip was Quicksilver and we were extremely happy with them. When I returned, I posted on several threads asking about limo companies saying what great service we had from them. I think that's how we all share our different experiences and information. Why should new posters be criticized for doing just that?

The poblem is, "earning it" and stating it as a fact on their web site are two very different hings.

I NEVER saw a "poll" where we could choose from a variety of car services to determine who was the best.

You certainly have a right to post your opinion, but frankly I'm somewhat amazed that they would state something which is jsut not true.

I seem to recall a poll about towncar /Limo sevice because
I remember someone asking that Quicksilver be added and I had
never heard of them. I use this boards sponsers when I can and
when it makes sense but Southern Elgance had the best price
(I read about a special for Land/Sea packages on this board)
and the reviews of them have been great so I booked with them.

I appreciate everyone's information on these companies, it has
really helped.

I don't think you can use a site's name or implied "endorsement" without persmission...I'm not a lawyer, but I'm basing this on Cosumer Reports' policy. They do not allow any company to state how they were ranked in a CR survey or test, even if they were the top of the heap. They have a strict non-commercial policy, and it has been upheld in court because they are vigorous about defending it.

I was just surprised by it, since FL tours is the sponsor of the boards. Any poll started by one member is not sanctioned by the boards.
From time to time we have all praised one company or another. Just because some people like one company does not mean that the company was voted #1 by the people on this webiste. I certainly do not think that the majority of the people have used them, in fact is really has just been quite recent that their name has come up so often.

i have nothing but great things to say about southern elegance limo- i find them to be extremely upfront and honest- and i have never seen a bad report about SE on these boards (until now) but this "bad" report has nothing to do with their service

everyone is entitled to their own opinion- and my opinion is that southern elegance has proved themselves by providing wonderful and reliable service and very professional customer service.

none of this would ever sway me as to whom i would choose as my limo company- i will continue to support SE as they have provided nothing but fantastic service for me and my family

Southern Elegance is number 1 to me. We've tried a few companies, and Southern Elegance had the best price and the best service. I think the drivers and thec0mpany in general, go above and beyond to make customets happy because other companies were getting all the kudos.

If you're looking for a good company, try them. The "vote" that they were #1 was between two limo companies, and Southern Elegance has said they were wrong for claiming themselves number one. I like that they admitted their mistake and corrected it.

I feel bad when things like this happens and people jump on top of it like a mob and can ruin a good company. Read the trip reports and you'll never see anything bad written about them.

To the posters who said they've been reading on the Dis and never heard of Southern Elegance, you must have skipped over those posts because I have responded to many of them. where people were asking about the company.
