Looking for suggestions on things to do on port days at St Kitts and Aruba. Family of 5 (9,6,4). We love beach days and snorkeling so any suggestions on good beaches and how to get to them would be helpful! Thanks!!

We did the southern this year. Kids were 9 and 11. We hit Aruba, but not St Kitts. The beaches in Aruba are public, and amazing. We grabbed a cab from the port to Eagle beach and had a great beach day. You can rent chairs there, and there is a small hut that serves drinks and food. The beach is so large that I can't imagine it being crowded. It isn't a good snorkel beach, but the water is warm and the beach is very very long. It is pretty shallow for the younger kids as well.

We did the 9 day Southern Caribbean this year.
In Aruba we did the Disney Excursion to Arashi Beach.
Did NOT like Arashi Beach at ALL.
It was very rocky and the food available was NASTY.

In St. Kitt's we went to Carambola Beach Club and had a great time.
Go to their website/facebook ahead of time to reserve loungers, that is a MUST.
My only complaint was that service at their restaurant was slow.
Other than that, we had a lovely time.
We just took a taxi from the port, it was super-duper easy, and the driver came back for us at the appointed time.

If your have children make sure to bring $5 with you in St. Kitt’s. For $5 the locals let you hold a baby monkey and take pictures. We have done 9 cruises and my daughter counts that as her favorite memory of all time. Best $5 ever spent lol.

Just watch if they have on any earrings or shiny things on their head. The monkeys will remove them - even pierced earrings. My sister had one removed by a monkey. It's not a stealing scam - she got it back. But be aware that they will very likely have their hands all over.

I second Eagle Beach. It is gorgeous. Just grab a taxi at the pier and have a relaxing day.

We did an island tour with Thenford Grey ( http://www.thenfordgreytours.com/ ). We had a short city tour, then visited a batik shop, the English fort and some beach time. Very well done tour.
