Do the people at the gate check ID's when using the SoCal resdient passes? How strict are they? Also would they be transferable? DH can only go one day but my aunt may come the other days.

Obviously we are on a budget and just trying to save some money. I caught the special they are running but we live in the bay area and will be in the LA for a business trip. Just thought I'd ask before I commit to buying reg. price tickets.

TIA

I had AP's(though they were upgraded to premium, not socal)and I never once had anyone ID me getting in. I DID have a really rude lady ID me and pick on me for buying my step-mom a mad hatter hat with my discount though.

Don't act suspicious and I'm sure you'll be fine to get through the gates.

I am concerned that if they're the type you'd have to go into city hall and get your picture taken they might want to confirm your residence(a bill or whatnot). I did show my ID when I picked up my AP, even though it still was from WA, just for identity purposes and told them I had just moved down. But, again, these were the premium passes, so I didn't get a socal discount.

You will not be able to purchase them because ID is absolutely required to purchase them. ID is required to use them, as well, but ID checks to use them are at random, and this year they have stepped up on the random checking since too many people are trying to bend the rules.

The ticket cannot be used by more than one person.

People complain about Disney ticket price going up, but is it any wonder when people try to transfer non-transferable ticket and purchase promotions for which they do not qualify? I don't blame Disney for raising ticket prices.

You don't have to have ID to use an AP because your photo pops up on the CMs screen when they scan it, if it's not you they won't let you in.

With the So Cal deals you are supposed to show ID when buying the tickets but not always when using them. However, tickets are NON transferrable, which means your DH and Aunt can't share a ticket.

Ok here is the real deal. First I called Disneyland 3x to ask about these tickets. I was told by 3 different people 1) in guest relations 2) by someone in ticketing and the third by random info person, that ID is required to purchase them but not to use them, and that a So Cal person needs to show ID but can buy up to 8 per day. My friend in San Diego bought 1 for us at Albertsons NO ID was asked for at the store. We (my friend and I) used it for our trip and we were never once asked for ID. I have an AP NO I did not share the ticket with her. The person in ticketing said that NO they are not supposed to ask for ID. I then said "but the people on the boards are saying that they are" he said that was for pre printed military tickets and that I should not listen to the people on the boards but to him because he works there" Take it for what it's worth we never had trouble. (I say "WE" because we were traveling together but I have an AP)

No, that's not the "real deal." People are sent away daily because they have a Summer 3-day pass and no ID to show for it. It has especially become a problem this month. And here's an e-mail I got straight from Disney customer relations when I asked how I've been told by cast members that ID is not required for use:

It's amazing what people would do to save a little bit of money, even if it means lying (and no, i'm not directing this to anyone in general, it's just a generalization).

Here's the scoop folks, those who sell the Summer Fun Passes have all been notified that IDs will be checked at the gate as well as should be checked at point-of-purchase. However, locations like local supermarkets are notorious for not checking IDs, which has become a serious problem, and it has led to the "accepted" behavior that non-SoCal folks can purchase and use these passes. This has been a problem in the past and I'm glad that the Resort has chosen to enforce the use of this ticket to those that it was meant for.

If this continues, I would not be surprised if future products will not be available at the supermarkets as most of these issues are coming from them.

The information that I have gotten and have been relaying to all my Guests is that the Main Entrance has the RIGHT to check for ID every day that the ticket is being used... however, there is a good chance that it'll only be asked for on the very first day (personal opinion here). SoCal Residents can purchase the tickets for their friends and family, but ONE person in the group HAS to have a SoCal ID otherwise the potential situation where the Guest is turned away and directed to the Box Office to upgrade the ticket because they are ineligible to use it HAS happened already, on multiple occasions (some I have witnessed myself when I go in to play). Needless to say is VERY embarrasing for the Guest.

-----
Proof of Residency Required for Admission. or Valid Proof of So Cal Residency and Ticket Required for Admission
-----

The terms and conditions on all media as well as on the ticket itself is VERY clear with the use of the word "Admission" and nothing mentioned about "Purchase".

No one will stop folks from trying to use these tickets if they aren't eligible for it... but this year they HAVE been stepping up the enforcement and just because you bought the ticket doesn't mean that you will actually be able to use it.

I live in So. Cal. and used the $99 pass for my recent trip. I purchased at my local Vons and they did not check I.D. I used it for entry on 2 days and no I.D. check at any time. I only showed my I.D. when converting to an AP.

So I am at Disneyland.com and I am in the process of purchasing the Resident Summer Fun pass. I did enter a California Zip code but registered with an Iowa address to see what would happen. I can now enter my credit card info to purchase. I can also choose to have the tickets mailed directly to Iowa so no one will have to show ID at the will call window. My question is, what is stopping everyone from doing this? It is not an E ticket, they are the actual tickets. hmmmmmmmmm:rolleyes1

Disneyland has significantly stepped up ID checking at ticket turnstiles this summer; though yes, somebody could possibly get away with that assuming that the transaction would actually be complete. Disney can still reject the transaction.

Frankly if I can't afford to do it a legit way, then I don't go. I can't imagine trying to cheat the system to save some bucks.
