Ok folks, we've set a date for this years South West Meet.
Or should I say 'we've nearly set a date'.

It's going to be the weekend of the May bank holiday, but we can make it either for Saturday 26th May or Sunday 27th May, whichever suits people best.

It will be held in a venue in Tetbury (my home town). The exact location will be decided when we know how many are coming.
There is a lovely room we can hire if enough people are interested. It's owned by a local man who goes to India often and runs a business importing and selling Indian arts and crafts. Consequently the room is decked out with rugs, carpets, sofas etc. There are also some pretty bedrooms available as well, so if anyone wants to stay the night this would be ideal.

Have a look here for details - http://www.talboyshouse.com/

There is a kitchen available so we could do food there too.

If there are not enough of us to make this viable, I can find another location.

So, if you are interested, post here as soon as possible and I'll start planning. :cool1:

count us in Kev please, as it is Bank Holiday we are easy on either the Saturday or Sunday, so we will jut go with the majority. Talboyshouse looks as if it would be fun.

Kev, I want that Deva Mehal room, it reminds me of the Adventurers Club !!

Count me in and possibly dh. Either day would be ok but Sat would prob be better. :)

Hi Kev,

Possibly us. Depends on our DLRP trip. When do you need to know?

If so it would be 2 adults and 3 kids.

only sunday for me I'm afriad as have to take mum to elton john concert on saturday night.

Not sure what i'm doing the bank holiday weekend yet so i'm a maybe.

I think you may have to count us out this time round Kev. Unfortunately, my lovely hubby is off on resettlement for 6 weeks starting 13th May so won't be around and I'm not sure I'll feel like coming on my own :sad2:

A few questions,
Are children welcome? is there a train station nearby?

If so we may be able to come if it is a sunday.

It's looking like Sunday is more popular. Sorry Jen!

Angel - I think we have to make a decision by the end of next week so we can sort out a venue.

Joh - That's a shame. Guess we'll have to see you all at the GGG meet.

Wideeyes - Children are very welcome. The nearest station is Kemble, which is about 6 miles away. I can certainly pick you up from the station, but you would need to get a taxi back as I'm afraid I will have had a small drinky-poos by the end of the day. Maybe another friendly Disser could do the return journey?

will have to consult the Lord and Master....(who am I kidding?:rotfl2: )....but I'm sure he'll be up for it! :thumbsup2 Those rooms look rather splendid too Kev!:woohoo:

Hi Kev

Unfortunately I will have to decline. I cant make a commitment especially with my job/holiday.

;)

Count us in Kev. :thumbsup2 either day is fine.

Just out of interest, but is there ever any DIS meets north of the border !! Or are the only meet ups in the far south :sad1:

I quite fancy camping .............. :rotfl2: (Could get so drunk we wouldn't notice the rain coming down) !! :lmao:

It's looking unlikely for me too at the moment :(

(venue looks great! :thumbsup2 )

have just looked up the train times etc for the sunday, is 14:00 ridiculously late to get to the station at Kemble? and I'd have to leave again at 18:50, is there anyone else travelling by train and if so do you want me to get you times? cheapest tickets etc? and maybe we can share cabs to and from the station.

S'okay, I've figured out a way to get there earlier!
