South West DIS Meet 2005

This years get together is set for May 21st.

I thought I would post early and see how many are interested and then see whether I need to hire a stadium or a phone box!

It will be held in Tetbury (or surrounding area), which is roughly 25 miles from Bristol.
Last year we had the meet in a pub from lunchtime onwards, followed by a skittles evening.
I am planning a similar do this year with an afternoon/evening agenda, although I'm not sure about skittles again. I was rather embarrassingly beaten by my good lady wife last year.

Local hotels can be sorted for those wanting to stay.
Any bright ideas as to what we could do will be greatly appreciated, just remember Tetbury is only a small town, so any thoughts of nights out filled with dancing, fireworks and laser shows are probably a little optimistic.

I'm tempted, very tempted (although goodness knows why ) but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it.

I have a (big) birthday to celebrate that day and I don't know yet whether I'm supposed to be elsewhere. What that really means is that if I find my nearest and dearest have nothing planned for me, then I shall gladly swallow my pride and be only too delighted to join a bunch of assorted cyber-pals and their pet elephants in a dodgy skittle alley somewhere in the depths of middle-England for the evening.

So that's probably a "yes"!

Sorry Astrid, I thought long and hard for 15 minutes and 37 seconds before deciding that the skittle alley is probably a good way to go again this year.
Apart from the ignominy of having been beaten by Tam last year, it seems an ideal place as the children can be a little more free than if we were sat in a pub and we don't have to worry about the noise. You should have heard me sob last year, it wasn't pleasant.

So, the alley is booked.

By the way DisneySurfGirl, you are very welcome. Has anyone told you the rule about buying the host beer all day?
