South Beach Diet anyone?

SB has quite a bit of pre-packaged food now....I've had the pizza which is ok once in awhile...I really like the packs with the lunch wraps in them for when I'm on the run or working. Really though, for the expense of these, you can put these things together yourself a little cheaper....its really more of the convenience of them....the cereal is good too and the snack bars.

Yes, I did drop my weight very quickly.......even I was amazed!! ::yes::

DH and I have been on SBD for almost 2 years now. I love the way I feel with less carbs and sugars in my body. I lost the 20 lbs I wanted the first year so I started cheating during the beginning of the 2nd year but am now back to a modified phase 1/2 diet. Phase 1 was definitely really hard especially for me because I HATE eggs. I lived on protein shakes instead of phase 1 breakfast and I was fine. We have done a lot of salads and sometimes the thought of one gags me but then I look in the mirror and figure I need to lose about 5-10 more and I will be back at my pre-1st baby weight and that keeps me motivated!

Now I love SBD because I have absolutely NO cravings for sweets. We went to a dinner a few weeks ago for a charity fundraiser and they had this really delicious looking chocolate mousse. OH MY....it made me have the worst sugar high headache after only 3 bites and anything baked like cookies or brownies no thanks!

GL..you can do it! If I can do it I imagine almost anyone can! :teeth:

Someone else mentioned this site- here's the link to the forum:

http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/index.php

It's a great source of information and support. Make sure you read the book and then look up supporting info and ask questions there. Reading the book is the first step and really helps you understand the diet.

I've had the SBD pizza- absolutely love it. It's only for major treats though- kind of expensive and it's best to prepare natural whole foods on SBD. It's kind of become a marketing thing once Kraft got in the picture. Money money money.

I really like the cereal bars when I'm in a rush or need to eat something light before going to the gym. The Kraft cereal is iffy- regular old fashioned oatmeal is better. Of course, that's once you move on to phase 2 ;)

Another great thing on that forum is the Diet Journal forum- you can read others' struggles and accomplishments, and get cool ideas for new meals or snacks because people post their menus on there.

I was on SBD for about a year, dropped 10 lbs (didn't have much to lose) and felt a lot healthier. I ended up getting obsessed with the diet and just plain unhappy/depressed so I gave up on it. However, even not being on the "diet plan" persay, I kept with me healthy snacks and an overall better understanding of what to eat and how to eat it. It's the best diet out there IMO.

Goodluck!!!
