Does anyone know what goes on or what is going on in the soundstages at HS? There seem to be a lot of them and I am curious about what goes on there. Thanks for any info!

Soundstage 1 - currently receiving some hush hush work
Soundstage 2 & 3 - Toy Story Mania
Soundstage 4 - Chronicles of Narnia & One Man's Dream
Soundstage 5 - Playhouse Disney Live

is that what you're asking?

Is Soundstage 6 the Sci-Fi Dine-In?

That all being said, none of them are actually used as soundstages for production anymore. 2&3 used to be used to tape the New Mickey Mouse Club (with Justin and Britney).

If you want to see soundstages actually being used for film production, you'll need to visit Universal. They do a lot of film production work there.

poor christina, jc, ryan and kerri.

universal isn't really a hotbed of activity either (orlando anyway). nickelodeon used to have a studio there, but that's long gone and is now used for TNA wrestling.

nyc has a tough enough time with filming, orlando just isn't a great place for it. talent wants to be in LA.

Soundstage 7 & 8 - Great Movie Ride
Soundstage 15 - Rock N Roller Coaster, Starring Aerosmith
Were these originally built as soundstages?
Were these ever used for productions other than films, etc. about their current contents?

That question I can answer.

They were never built as production stages.

They are just "called" that for themeing purposes.

Thanks for all the great info. We were only at Hollywood Studios for a day the last time we were there in the spring and did not make it to a lot of the attractions. We did get to ride the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and the Tower of Terror, the latter of which is my new favorite Disney ride I think. There just seemed to be a lot of soundstages and I didn't see a lot of them advertised as attractions for some reason. It is too bad the Nickelodeon Studios aren't at Universal Orlando anymore, I loved seeing those as a kid. I guess it's a reason to get out to California sometime though. Thanks for all the great discussion! Keep it up if you want!

Actually, they shoot a lot of different things at Universal. They shot the last Beethoven movie there. They shoot commercials and smaller films.

beethoven's 5th, 2003?

as i said, not a hotbed of activity. stuff is still periodically filmed at DHS as well, although using DHS as a background moreso than a full on production facility.

No. It was shot last year. I don't know the name, but it stared the St. Bernard as Beethoven. They were also shooting some type of mob film. I didn't pay that much attention. I was working a casting for a commercial and was talking to some of the production people who have offices on Universal's backlot. I sometimes help out a casting agent who has an office there. They do a lot of commercial and industrials there. It is truly a working film backlot.

It took me awhile to find it. It was Beethoven's Big Break. It went straight to DVD.
