My sister and I booked our vacations separately but will be at WDW at the same time. She booked a package and I booked a room only and got my tix through Sam’s. Since booking my parents have decided to join us. To make everything work without adding an extra room- my dd could move to sister’s room and my parents could be with me. Is there a way to do that officially through Disney? I had read that it could be a problem since my dd doesn’t have the same package as my sister. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes it can be done. The degree of difficulty, though, depends on a couple of things.

SCENARIO #1
The room you currently have has enough occupancy space that adding your parents will not exceed the limit. For example, if it's just you and your daughter now, then adding your parents won't exceed the room limit (four or five, depending on resort and room type). In this case, you can just call and add them to the reservation. You'll be charged a nightly fee for having 3 adults in the room, but way cheaper than a third room. Leave your daughter on your reservation until you arrive at the resort. At that point, just go to the front desk and tell them she's going to be staying in her aunt's room. They'll make the adjustment and reset her magic band to open that door instead. You can also get a key cards for your room that you can give her or your sister to gain access to your room as well.

SCENARIO #2

Adding your parents would exceed the room limit, and you need your daughter to move to the other room in order to accommodate everyone in the two rooms. This situation is a bit more complicated, as you need everyone on a reservation. Moving your daughter to your sister's room will require the purchase of another ticket for her, as packages require everyone on the reservation to have the same ticket type.

There are a couple of ways to handle this.
1) daughter gets the package ticket, and you transfer the ticket you already purchased to one of your parents (yes, completely unused tickets can be transferred to someone else). You could also just keep that ticket for a future trip.
2) your sister can change her reservation to a "ticketless" package. This will remove the ticket she currently has from the package. She will then need to purchase a new ticket. Your daughter can use the existing ticket she has.

Hope this helps.

If someone has a package, everyone staying in that room has to have the same package.

When are you going? If your trip is more than 30 days away, is there any reason why your sister would not want to cancel her package, rebook the room as room only, and buy her tickets separately? Doing so would allow your daughter to stay with her. They wouldn't need to have the same tickets in that case.

If that isn't a possibility, do your parents have tickets already? Would having them stay in your sister's room, booked on the same package as her, cause difficulties?

If your parents don't have tickets yet, you could also have your daughter transfer her ticket to one of them and add her to the package your sister has. Of course, this assumes that it is acceptable for her to have the same tickets as your sister and for one of your parents to have the ticket you've already bought for your daughter.

I don’t know about changing the package, we may have missed the 30 days by a little. Could we add my dd after check in? We are arriving a few days after my sister.

It may be possible, but I've never tried it and don't really know. Will you be taking the Disney's Magical Experience bus from the airport? If so, you'll want your daughter listed on one of the reservations before arriving at the airport.

We are driving in and will be arriving a few days after my sister. I have chatted with Disney and have gotten two different answers-it may be difficult to add after check in and should try to add now (which doesn't really work with our time table) and yes you can add her after check in.

You can change a package from 2-29 days before check in. There is a $50 fee to modify. May well be worth the $50!

With three people age 18 or older in the room, you'll need to pay the extra adult fee for the third adult.
