Sorta OT Vent -- Playhouse Disney (TV) Question

Okay first thank you all for not making me think I was crazy.

Our saving grace is our DVR. My girls rarely watch TV in the morning because once we are up we run pretty much until lunch time. Then I just turn the DVR to what ever it is that they want to watch. I am just annoyed at the commercials during the shows now. My girls HATE commercials.

oh yeah Bunny Town. My dd loved that show and I haven't seen it in weeks. I work at Disney Store and we just got Bunny Town plush in...will be put out in about a month....shouldn't the keep showing the show if they want to sell the plush???

They definitely changed the line up. And I miss JoJo and Goliath and the little skit " My name is Shayne, it rhymes with rain..." Or something like that! I have two younger kids and two older kids so while I am getting older kids off to school, myself showered/dressed and such it was nice to turn on TV at 7am and then back off at 10am and that was our TV time for the day and I could get daily house chores done in those three hours and the rest of the day was ours. my preschoolers are now not liking the shows on until about 8am when mickey comes on, then little einsteins, etc. We have turned to Noggin and DD2 loves Dora and Diego!
I know we arent supposed to use Tv as a babysitter but I am a SAHM and I have daily chores that need completed to keep the house running and its hard enough keeping up w/o tripping over them so I cheat and use playhouse diz and noggin for a couple hours. Nice thing is my almost 5 year old DS loves to help vacuum and fold towels so he gets am allowance like his older siblings. DD2 isnt yet on that bus but she is great at making the messes:rotfl2:

I just went through the line-up for tomorrow (different than during the week a little bit) and Shanna's Show is on at 6:25am. I noticed this week the Wiggles were back on, maybe around 11:30 or noon? I'm not sure of the time. My ds is 3 1/2 and likes Tigger & Pooh, Einsteins and Mickey's Clubhouse. If we turn the tv on in the morning it's usually not until 9am, after we get back from dropping my 7yr old off at school, so I don't know what the show lineup was like before. I do wish we got NOGGIN, we had it when my oldest was younger and he really enjoyed it.

My 3 & 4yo love the song from Phineas and Pherb.

I dont mind the tween commercials so they all watch those shows anyway.

I have Bell Express Vu.

I get Family Channel East and West and Playhouse Disney.

I haven't seen the Wiggles on Playhouse Disney up here.

Still waiting to see if they will add Lilo and Stitch back! My niece is so sad!

What shows are on ToonDisney? Maybe Bell will add that to their line up.

My 3 year old does, too. We have DISH DVR and we get a ton of kid's programming. I limit tv time in the morning anyway (Allie is in preschool now) and just DVR and let her watch while she's eating lunch/ getting napped before we get the bigger kids from school

We are into Tom & Jerry these days so I haven't had PHD on in a while. I'm lucky though b/c I have DTV and get East & west programming for Disney. We also have Tivo. Best thing ever with kids!!!

I don't mind DS3 watching Phin & Ferb. He loves the songs, plus DH likes it too (shh...don't tell), so he will sit and watch Phin & Fern with the kids. :lmao:

DS,4, loves Phineas & Ferb! We watch it as a family. The songs are really catchy.

Yes, the songs are catchy, plus have you ever noticed some songs pop up in other episodes? OUr 2 favorite lines- "Whatcha dooooing?" and "Aren't you a little young to be a (fill in career)? Why yes; Yes I am!""

We all love Phineas & Ferb here!

I hadn't realized they'd done another show change-up, although I guess I should have, when I had to reprogram the dvr to get Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I'm still mourning the loss of Stanley last fall.

Just tonight I was telling DH that they changed the program lineup (what happened to Jojo?) and I said that I thought they needed a Playhouse Disney Channel, just like Noggin split off from the N. Once noon rolls around we usually switch off Disney and head over to Sprout or Noggin. I think they are actually losing views because of there programming.

Ditto! After 11am, we watch Noggin. My kids are not early risers, so I DVR Playhouse Disney each day so they can watch it whenever it's convenient for us. I wish there was a Playhouse Disney Channel, I would absolutely love that. I wonder who we could write to.

Higglytown Heroes doesn't come on at all anymore, which sucks. Can't say I miss the Doodlebops, though, they were really annoying.

BTW, we love Phinneus and Ferb also! One lazy Saturday afternoon, DH and I sat on the couch and watched a 3 hour marathon, lol.

Phinneus & Ferb is a hit in our home. My boys absolutely LOVE this show. My daughter (and the baby) really don't care LOL. We have Disney on all day. The only show I'm not fond of is Hannah Montana and that's only because I think Miley's "pissed in her mess kit" as my grandma used to say LOL. Other than that, we love it all. My 5 yr old seems too big for the "baby shows" as he calls them and my little ones enjoy the big kid shows too. I haven't noticed anything inappropriate? Annoying, yes. LOL. But not inappropriate.

My 11 month old is in love with Imagination Movers though and if hes crying there are only 2 ways to calm him down LOL - nursing him or Imagination Movers haha.

We have Comcast with OnDemand so there are a bunch of shows that I can turn on whenever I want (Imagination Movers for sure LOL). Also, we can DVR whatever we want to - Alice In Wonderland came on a few weeks ago and we recorded it and have watched it every other day since haha.

Hadn't paid too terribly much attention to the lineup change since we are usually busy getting ready for preschool/kindergarten in the mornings and don't watch more than a few minutes, but have to say that the Wallace and Grommit sheep thing with the Jack O Lantern just about scared my preschooler to death at 7am! Definitely not appropriate for 3 and 4 year olds!!!! I was annoyed with that to say the least. And we do not watch any of the tween shows so they lose interest in those commercials super fast too.

I think we will be sticking with Noggin for a while...sad because we really do love Little Einsteins and Tigger and Pooh---but Noggin is more commercial free!

My only real complaint is with the commercials now. I don't understand why on earth they are showing commercials for the tween shows during what is set aside as 'preschool' programming. The program shuffle actually worked in our favor, since DS doesn't like The Wiggles, but really...I don't need him seeing commercials for shows that are too mature for him during Playhouse Disney.

It's really interesting to see the difference in the shows from down there to up here.

I don't see Noggin or Wiggles up here our Playhouse Disney.

We do get Stanley, Little Einsteins, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Higglytown Heros, Bunnytown, Frany's Feet, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
