ok here goes...this is our first time using our DVC.:woohoo::woohoo: At first we were booked 1 night at AKL villas and 8 nights at BLT. We waitlisted for the first night and it came through.:cheer2: So now we have all 9 nights at BLT. Now seeing that our first night was not originally on our ressie are we going to have to check out on in the am and then recheck in at the same resort or can we just stay in the same unit the whole time...sorry this was a little long in explaining.

In my recent experience, you will have one reservation #, but it will be broken into segments. We had to check-in and out for each segment. So segment #1 was our original 3 nights, segment #2 was our waitlisted night, segment #3 was the rest of our nights. We had to go to the desk for new keys the days segment 2 and 3 started. We did not have to change rooms though.

That's quite a downgrade in operations! We've almost always had linked stays and at check in our keys have been for the entire stay. A couple of times (always at BWV) they had us checking out after the first segment but when I pointed out the linked reservation they were able to change it to encompass the entire stay.
