Hey All

I wonder if any of you have run in to this problem.
I have been trying to check resort availability through the Book Your Vacation portion of the WDW website and for the last long while of trying this it comes back with

Sorry, your session has expired.
after it searches for a few seconds for resort availability.

Have you had this happen to you? It has been going on with my searches for weeks. If you have had this how do you fix it. I have tried everything I can think of.

Thanks

Have had the same problem. The Disney web site seems to go down quite frequently. I know it has very heavy usage and is probably a nightmare to maintain, but it does get really frustrating to search around and almost get to where you want and have the server go down. I usually check back in 5-10 minutes later and it will be working again. I am sure Disney is aware each time it happens tries to fix it as soon as it goes down, but there is just a lot things that can go wrong on a web site that big. Also many web sites have to go off line when certain changes or updates are needed. I know there is a lot of information that needs routine updating.

Also if you walk away or spend too much time on a page it kind of logs you out and you have to start over.

I think its because when you do a search it kind of puts a hold on those rooms and it doesn't want that hold to be too long.

Thanks for your responses. The thing is I have not gone away from the computer and if I try again in an hour or a day it is always the same. It's like the system is stuck on this only for me. My wife can go on at work at the same time I try and it works for her. It always has worked for me in the past but lately it always goes back to the same Session is expired message. I just don't understand it. I e-mailed Disney but no response yet.

Just a overall computer issue thing is check your date, time and time zone. Also clearing out your cookies may help.

Beware that by clearing cookies you loose all your saved passed, like for this site.

I've been having this same problem with Disney's site for about two weeks now. Its super frusterating to say the least. I've tried just about everything including clearing my cookies and updating my browser. I hope someone might have some solution!! Please post if Disney gets back to you! I hadn't gotten around e-mailing them about the problem.

I have had the same problem, too, so I called Disney- and they told me I had to call my webservice ( in my case, AT & T ) and tell them they need to clear their DNS cache for Walt Disney World. Apparently Disney has updated their site but some of the we serves have not caught up to this yet...I have not had the time to do this, but let me know if this helps!

I was having a similar problem last week when I tried to see our reservations online. It kept saying it could not find them, no matter what I tried or what approach I took.

Finally I decided to try checking them using Explorer (my usual is Google Chrome) and lo and behold, there they were. ??? I'm not computer savvy (obviously!) so I don't know what that means, but it may be worth trying.

Hey Everybody

I have not heard back from Disney on this. I e-mailed them about a week ago and the first e-mail I sent they got right back and asked for what park was I searching availability, so I responded WDW and heard nothing in return. I then e-mailed again with the same question and was very clear that it was for WDW and did not get a response at all. Kind of annoying really, you would think they would want to respond to a person trying to view availability and having no luck but I guess not. I am going to e-mail my internet provider and say that they need to update their DNS cache for Walt Disney World as the previous poster suggested after their call to WDW.

Haven't had the same problem but I HAVE been trying to enter my annual pass to my account for about two weeks now. Epic fail. :(

:confused3 I can look at my reservations then I can't, then I can, then I can't, then I can.....

I spoke to Disney and then my ISP. They need to update their DNS cache. It basically means they changed servers where the information resides. When you do not update your domain name servers, the ISP "remembers the route" to the old server.

It is utter bs really. I was told by Disney Technical support that an actual letter went out to the entire Disney web technical team. Eventually the problem should resolve itself, as all servers reset evventually, but that could take...a long damn time. It has been over a month for the Time Warner ISP in upstate NY. (And trying to convince your ISP to delete their cache for DNS...Good luck.)

I am kinda irritated because sitting on the phone with an agent drives me nuts. Anyway, there is the reason.

It really is a frustrating situation. I finally heard back from Disney about two weeks after sending two separate e-mails. Their response did nothing to address the situation that I explained quite clearly. They actually just sent me a generic response to the advantages and highlights of the online booking , not addressing the problem I presented to them at all.
I also had contacted my ISP to deal with the DNS cache issue and they ran me through a DNS flush for my computer and also removed all the cookies for Disney which did nothing. It sounds like from what Icemanj says the problem is on the ISP's side of things and I know my ISP just isn't getting it, so hopefully sometime down the road it fixes itself but until then I am having to use another internet connection to check availability. Hope you all have better luck with this than me.

Actually I called my isp and they absolved themselves.

I erased the first 5 hops but you can see where it times out. On some BS Las Vegas server. Most of you will look at not understand but this command traces the route for which you connect to Disney. That timing out on lines 11 and 12 for me cooks me.

I have someone from Disney calling me tomorrow, hopefully.

Anyway it least you can do some diagnostic to have something to talk to technical support about if you wish to pursue.

It has nothing to do with your provider (atleast not in my case). I get the "session expired" on my computer, but not on the other one in the house. :confused3

I actually tried the web address when I click reservations

Can someone confirm that this is the embedded name site you access to make reservations? As you can see I am timing out when I try to access the specific site.

At any rate this f'ing sucks.

Just a overall computer issue thing is check your date, time and time zone. Also clearing out your cookies may help.

Can't search dining or resort reservations... I type in what I want, it starts searching and returns to original search page with no results... OR says session expired.
Tried cleaning out cookies and all... all that did was lose my saved passwords for all my sites.

BUT..... in the quoted part about checking date/time/ time zone... viola!
New computer here and this computer insists the time is an hour later than it is. I change it and it's gone back to an hour earlier. Had just changed it to the CORRECT time and it's finally stayed at the correct time.
But after reading PP's comment about time... I went and put the time back an hour earlier, which the computer wants the time to be at for some reason, then I went back to Disney's site and WOOHOO... can search for dining and resort reservations.
So if anyone having problem... maybe is as easy fix as a time issue?

I was having the same problem. It was fine on one computer but the other computer I kept getting the same thing. I would try it at different days and times and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Then we got a new computer and lo and behold it worked. So I have no idea what the issue was... but when I got the new computer I didn't have the problem.

I have been completely frustrated with this exact problem for the past week. I can access the reservation system and use it just fine from work but not at home. I did just replace my computer at home so knew something must be off--tried deleting cookies and browser history w/no solution to the problem. Then I read here about the time!!
Try adjusting your time by right clicking on the time and date at the bottom right corner-click "adjust date/time". My computer had the correct time and date showing but when I clicked into the adjust settings, it turns out that my time zone was wrong. I adjusted it to eastern and my clock then was 5 hours off--I then just adjusted the clock to the right time and VOILA!! I am in and happy and booked for August at WL!!!!

Hope this helps someone else!!:thumbsup2
