I know this sounds crazy, but let me explain. A friend of mine and her daughters were supposed to go to Disney last week. Well the older daughter, 5, came down with a bad case of the Flu the day before they were supposed to leave. :sad1: So they ended up having to cancel their trip and lost out on everything. The girls were soooooo disappointed as you can imagine. My friend was telling me yesterday that they were so looking forward to getting autographs and pictures with the characters.

So now to my request. I know that some of you wonderful DISigners make the letters from the characters. What I am wondering is if one of you can make me a letter to take with us on our trip next week that I can have all the characters sign and I can bring it back to the girls as a surprise. Would that be possible? Maybe it could say something like "sorry you came down sick before your trip and we missed seeing you"? The girls names are Gracie and Libby.

Thank you so much for your help with this in advance! I just want to try and bring a little bit of that Disney magic back for the girls since they couldn't go.

Bumping to the top for you - I'm not a designer but I think this a wonderful and very thoughtful idea!!

Here is a letter and my idea of a little something you could do. If you have $5-10 to spend after your trip and before you take them the letter...run to the dollar tree and purchase some fun Disney things and fill up a box to go with the letter. They have tons of things all for a dollar like Disney activity/coloring books, princess crayons, disney frisbees, disney characters, disney puzzles, etc. To make it extra special...get a mylar balloon and put everything including the balloon in the box and wrap it with disney wrapping paper or red or blue paper and lots of curling ribbon. Then put the letter on the outside of the box. It will be their own little disney celebration! You could also include park maps for their next trip!

I deleted the image as the link takes up space in my photobucket but if you change your mind and want to use it here it is: http://s415.photobucket.com/albums/pp232/jtanddolly/

What a great and thoughtful idea:) I love doing things like this...have a great and magical time on your trip:)

I love the idea of the balloon in the box!! I planned on bringing back a couple Mickey rice crispy treats and a few other things so I'll have to pack it all up. Maybe I can snag some Mickey confetti to throw in there too!

That looks great! Can you make a couple changes please? Would it be possible to change the color of the background to white? Instead of Mickey at the bottom, could we put a picture of the castle at the top (make it look more like "official letterhead" and more space for signatures)? Would you be able to make a 2nd page that looks like the 1st, but is blank for more signatures if neccessary?

Thank you sooooo much for this! My hubby is going to bring home some card stock from work to print this out on.

As I mentioned in the post above this one...I didn't design the page, I just cleaned it up. It sounds like you already know what you are wanting and it would be pretty easy for you to create in MS Word. First, go to google and click on the "images" tab. Then search for cinderella's castle and find the image that you want. Then make sure you save it to your pictures or you can even copy and paste it directly into MS Word. Make sure you open up the picture to get the biggest image...you don't want to copy the thumbnail image.

Then if you like the font I used...it is called "waltograph" and you can get it for free at www.dafont.com.

You can put a border around your page by going to "format" then "borders and shading" and make sure you are on the "page" tab. From there you can select the type of border, color and size for the page. Once the border is on the page...you can insert the picture of the castle. Then below that...you can type the wording that you want.

Voila! Then you will have exactly what you want.

If you need a few tutorials in MS Word...here is a thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2286193

I already tried doing that, but it just wasn't coming out like I had thought. It just didn't have the "umph" that I wanted.

The background of this is perfect. The only problem is that you can't type your letter on it. It would have to be handwritten. I was hoping to find something that would have the letter in Disney font.

You could print out the letterhead from the website that Milliepie posted. Then download "waltograph" for free from www.dafont.com if you don't already have it, set up margins in a new MS Word document so that what you type will fit correctly on the letterhead below the image...then run the letterhead through you printer to add your letter on top of it. Hope that makes some sense. This is just like if you purchased a party invitation from Michaels, Hobby Lobby or and office supply store that you can add the party details to by running it through a computer.

I would suggest printing out your letter on blank paper first then place your printed letter over the top of the disney letterhead and hold it up to the light to see if it lines up okay. If it doesn't fit they way you want it to...move your letter up or down and change the margins until you are happy with it. Then you won't have to waste a bunch of ink.
