Frankly, newmousecateer, I didn't find your statement al that offensive, as I was thinking the same thing when I first read the story. So, some of our fellow DISers feel our our thoughts are judgemental and not politically correct...oh well...quite often, I think the same of some of their opinions, so life goes on.

Meanwhile, I am sure the parents of the slain little girl are asking themselves the same questions and wishing they had been more vigilant...a lesson for all of us, the politcally correct and the not-so-politically-correct . Welcome to the club, newmousecateer! My prayers for that child and especially for her family...may they find the strength and peace to deal with their tragedy.

I understood that the parents were separated and the little girl was just having breakfast at the home her Dad and the suspect were staying at. Maybe she shouldn't have been there but I believe that saying this man was staying at the child's home is incorrect.

Of course, the story does keep changing.
