I really wish I had joined weight watchers. I haven't seen this mentioned here before, so I'm sorry if this is not your 1st time hearing this. My reasons for joining: hearing all those ads on the radio that you eat your own food, weigh in 2-3 times a week and counselors help you tailor the program to your individual needs. It also appeared to be cheaper than WW since I joined under a special that was half price. Well, I get there, and you pay all upfront, but it's all the way through maintenance. Okay, I thought that will help keep me honest & coming back each week, knowing I paid for the full program. Then I go back to get started, and they pitch the "packages" of snack items, of which you are supposed to have 2 a day. Some of these packages were over $1000. A supply of vitamins & weight loss aids with a cookbook was a $180 package price. I declined all but a basic 10 week supply of bars and will not be buying more. I told a counselor last visit that I was using some Zone bars instead, which are fewer carbs and more protein,(and under $1.00 each) and she said they won't work with the program, and if I'm not going to use their product, they will have to give me a new diet that doesn't include them. I have been watching carbs for a couple years now, and think that's a healthier approach, but they don't have a low carb program. So now I feel stupid, but am trying to tell myself to get over it and stick with the program, and get out of it with better health by losing weight. Thanks for letting me vent.
