Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

From Stringbean:Does it make me sound really weird to say that it REALLY bugs me that only one of the "letter" pumpkins is a different color??

:rotfl2: No! I kind of like it, but I am not super organized person. I tend to be a little chaotic, so perhaps that's why! :rotfl:

Sounds like you had a great time visiting the Poly!! It really is a beautiful resort, although you know those pathways confounded us for a little bit! -

I love visiting the Poly. To me its a tropical oasis. Do I prefer it to the Epcot resorts - No, but I do really like it.

Actually it is better than in years past. At least this year I had some commuication and my pleas did not go into a black hole.

From PoolRat Pat: I cannot remember how many years I have been doing this but I have been involved in the league since 1999 first as a coach, then as the facility person where I used to work until 2006. When I got my current job but I was at another facility that did not have a swim team but I kept the secretary and treasurer duties. When I moved to the currently facility in 2011, they have a swim team and the guy runnning it has been doing it for 20 + years. I have also known him for close to that long so I guess I am back in it.

Somewhere in there I started taking the entries for the championship meet. Not hard and time consuming when everyone does what they are supposed to do.

Some facilities do not have that consistency and let the confusion begin.
If they would just listen and not pretend to have it under control it would be fine.

It all goes back to the old adage - sometimes it's just easier to do it yourself. How frustrating! :sad2:

My personal bartender is either Clinta or John. They usually work opposite each other and one is there but the last time both were off and I had a third guy I would recommend but I have to remember his name.

All you need to do is ask for it to go and they will put it in a cup for you.

Clinta. I remember you said that name. I am definitely going to remember that for my next trip!

One of the things I love about NC is if I don't like the weather I just usually have to wait no more than a week. Yesterday cold dreary and raining, today High of 55 and sunny and beautiful. I hated the grey dreary cloud cover from Thanskgiving until Easter.

Pat - You just described exactly how I feel. I looked outside today and thought to myself "how many more days???????" I am so over it. I feel like I have wasted too much of my life in this weather. I would kill for 55 sunny and beautiful right now. I know even when I went to Williamsburg last spring the weather was so much better just 250 miles sounth of here.

I did it earlier today with no problem

I think it depends on what browser you are using. I only have safari on my two computers at home. At work I have an old version of internet explorer and it works fine. I just wish it would get fixed. I might just try it on Denny's pc later tonight and see if it works.

Cynthia, :cool1: for making it to the opening ceremony at MK!!! I really do love that opening. :goodvibes

All you did by 10am? You had a very nice morning!

Mary Ellen, the reasons you listed as to why you like running... I feel the same way. No getting ready to look all pretty...just get up and go...and see where the road takes me. :goodvibes

How cool you two ran into Tina! I saw the picture and I knew who that was! Too funny that Gaston was not too happy that you took away attention from him. :rotfl2:

The shop near Gaston's Tavern I completely missed! :confused3

Mary Ellen, I like any kind of burger really... but I have two kinds of issues... a beef burger can be too greasy and then :crazy2: or a veggie can be too carb heavy and :crazy2:

The pics you got on the jungle cruise are so good!

Cynthia, now your meal at LTT was much more in line with what I would love! I love the apple chicken salad at Panera... so I could see ordering what you had. YUM!

Photo0806FourBySix.jpg

I love the border on this pic...it goes so well with your outfit and the random person in the background.

Mary Ellen, my dh said your issue is probably a browser issue and not a "mac" one. Maybe an update was released and you didn't do it... or you did do it.... Hope you get it figured out though. Not being able to copy is frustrating!

I am also hating the new photobucket !!I can't find half my pix and uploading is a Royal pe=qin in the pertoockey!!!!

:cool1: :yay: :dance3:

I'm all caught up!!

Y'all are having such a great time! :goodvibes I love it!!

MEK I'm with you on the hitting the wall thing of late, maybe it's a thing that happens once you hit 40? :confused3
I use to be such a horrible night owl, up until at he very least 3. :scared:

Now I'm pushing myself to stay awake until at least 12:30 so I'm not up at the crack of dawn. I can only sleep so long and then I have to get up, I wish I could be one of those people who can stay in bed and sleep in, but since I've lost this weight it's actually painful to stay in bed past a certain number of hours. :headache: Maybe it's my bed, and pillow? :confused3

Y'all looked like you had a great time at the MNSSHP though! :goodvibes I know I said this before....but Cynthia did such a great job on the costumes, she's such a clever one with ideas. ::yes:: Great pics of the castle by the way, minus that hat of course.

So sad Pat had to leave, she's having one heck of a year with work! She's even saying on my PTR that her vacation is smack inbetween two very hectic weeks and that her time in WDW with us won't be long enough, she might even sleep the whole time. I told her she better not, we have things to do!! :woohoo: Naaa, she'll know where we'll be at all times, she can sleep in and catch up with us when she's able.

I didn't realize DVC owners or users could pool hop?!? That's pretty darn nifty!! And I love that you all saw other people/Disers you knew there, especially Tracy, so wish Cynthia had gotten a pic of you all together. :) Cynthia, I didn't realize she had a scar already?!? She was such a brave lady, she helps me to be brave now. I miss her sassy self. :upsidedow

Wish your lunch at LTT had been better, MEK. Cynthia actually had the salad that I was thinking about getting and the tri-tip sand was what I had planned to get, but they took it off the dadgum menu!! I'm actually thinking about canceling our reservation there and going to BOG instead, we already have a day where we're going there, but twice won't hurt us, riiiiight?!? The only thing keeping me going to LTT is the ooey gooey toffee cake, and maybe the choclate cake, are they worth it? If not, I'm going with BOG. :upsidedow

Graet Update So which T Shirt did the E's want ???

Oh I was just getting started on the t shirt texting pics...I needed to check out each park really and show them the options, except for AK and DTD since we were there in August.

Nice Toe pix , sorry but you have found the one pix I will not take .. my ugly toes !!!Hard to believe Rosie draws the line somewhere:rotfl2:Great Memories of Tracey:grouphug:

It is a great memory of Tracy, very blessed to have had that last unplanned visit.

Great addition to your MK shopping and time at the Poly, Cynthia. So glad you had that time with Tracy.

Me too, it's a very special memory.

Beautifully said. Just the image of it has me all teared up.

Love the idea about pool hopping to the Poly. I need to see if we are allowed to do that next month (Spring Break - likely not, but going to check!), it would be a perfect break in a MK day versus trekking allllllll the way back to SSR. :headache:

I don't think there are actually that many blackout dates. I could be wrong and do need to check in case we want to consider it in Dec/Jan.

I like both old and new Tiki Room shows. Too bad they can't do it like the Great Movie Ride - two different versions, so you never really know which one you will get.

I love that idea!

I am so glad that I have the happy memory of her getting to take this trip. :) When she got back, things seemed to go downhill quickly, but the pictures everyone has of her in WDW just give me good feelings about how she 'went out', so to speak.

It did go very fast, I am so glad she didn't know that they weren't going to be able to operate until after the trip as I do think that hope helped her keep fighting and enjoy her trip without that stress.

We are not fans of the tikki lounge new or old. Claire however does seem to like it. But I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

What a nice afternoon at the pool.

It was lovely!

Great updates! I've never tried the pool hopping thing but it sure looks like fun. Tracy had a great time doing it but did say she thought it was easier staying on the monorail line and hopping to resorts on the monorail line. She thought it might be too much of a hassle using the bus transportation. I think she said the GF pool was her fave... she said the poolside counter service food was amazing! I may have to check that out in the fall! Always nice to hear about yummy counter service with options other than burgers!

It was easy as we were at VWL. I do like being able to go to the room right after the pool and am not sure I'd have enjoyed it as just a park break without being able to hit my room. I'd agree that doing it via bus, just for the sake of hopping, would probably be a pain.

She definitely was an inspiration that trip and she did have a great time. I'm incredibly grateful she got to go. :goodvibes

I am grateful as well :goodvibes

Sorry I've been absent for a bit UGH dontcha just hate when real life gets in the way? Not even the fun kind either ,i've been busy with blood tests ,ultrasounds n all kinds of other not fun tests ICK!! Anyways,i've come to the conclusion that i need to be more stylish at Disney loook at you two in ur cute tops(i just usually rock a disney store t) Oh and Mary ellen don't worry about your "stubby toes" at least you dont have Fred flinstone feet like me LOL.

When it's that nice out, I can't wear sleeves! I do have a few cute Disney tees but seem to wear them at home and not in the parks.

I still can not copy, cut, and paste with my mac using safari. I wanted to do replies today, but this ongoing problem is making me not even want to DIS. Sorry for being so slow with the replies. I will get to them soon, even if its tomorrow from a pc.

I thought maybe it was browser issue, I'd been having the problem on 2 different PC's but all using Chrome. Tried Mozilla just now and it was fine so I opened Chrome back up and...it's now fine too. Go figure. I'm sticking with it being a DIS issue based on that.

It's still not working for me. :sad2:

Ahhhhhhh, and did I mention that I started my February cruise trip report? ;)

Oh goodness! I need to get over there, this weekend completely got away from me and the copy paste issues did NOT help at all that's for sure.

What issues are you having with copy and paste? I did it yesterday, but haven't tried yet today. I do know that when I copy and past it takes out things like apostrohes and if you post ...... it turns into &

I've had that issue before, now it seems to be limited to it removing the ', the " and the ...when viewed in a mobile browser though it shows up just fine in a regular one. It is a word to HTML copy/paste issue which theoretically if you copy your word draft into notepad and then into your message, it should strip all the tags out but that doesn't seem to work. So instead I end up writing in word and then going through and replacing the punctuation as I edit my update which is a real pita.

I did it earlier today with no problem

It's working for me now, wasn't yesterday.

I think it depends on what browser you are using. I only have safari on my two computers at home. At work I have an old version of internet explorer and it works fine. I just wish it would get fixed. I might just try it on Denny's pc later tonight and see if it works.

Nope, I think it's the DIS. LOL! See my comment above.

Cynthia, :cool1: for making it to the opening ceremony at MK!!! I really do love that opening. :goodvibes

All you did by 10am? You had a very nice morning!

It was a very nice morning!

Mary Ellen, the reasons you listed as to why you like running... I feel the same way. No getting ready to look all pretty...just get up and go...and see where the road takes me. :goodvibes

I feel that way about working out period, no getting ready to look pretty, ponytail, workout gear and go. What's the point? You are going to get all sweaty anyway if you are doing it right.

How cool you two ran into Tina! I saw the picture and I knew who that was! Too funny that Gaston was not too happy that you took away attention from him. :rotfl2:

The shop near Gaston's Tavern I completely missed! :confused3

It was SO fun to see Tina! I can't believe you missed the shop, it is adorable.

Mary Ellen, I like any kind of burger really... but I have two kinds of issues... a beef burger can be too greasy and then :crazy2: or a veggie can be too carb heavy and :crazy2:
And a Turkey one will taste amazing but I swear has SO much sodium, I'm thirsty for days later!

The pics you got on the jungle cruise are so good!

Cynthia, now your meal at LTT was much more in line with what I would love! I love the apple chicken salad at Panera... so I could see ordering what you had. YUM!

I really liked the salad and it had a very generous portion of chicken which was nice.

Photo0806FourBySix.jpg

I love the border on this pic...it goes so well with your outfit and the random person in the background.

:rotfl: on the random person matching. I just kept noticing the PP Photog behind me. I'm never a fan of the pics where I'm wearing a hat but sometimes I just don't want to deal with my hair and especially on a day where I plan to hit the pool and then the gym. Zero interest in doing it twice!

Mary Ellen, my dh said your issue is probably a browser issue and not a "mac" one. Maybe an update was released and you didn't do it... or you did do it.... Hope you get it figured out though. Not being able to copy is frustrating!

I think it was a DIS issue as I had it in Chrome on 2 different systems over a couple of different days and it's ok now. The iphone app was being hinky too but that's not really a new issue.

I am also hating the new photobucket !!I can't find half my pix and uploading is a Royal pe=qin in the pertoockey!!!!

Are you finding uploading to be worse? I haven't tried.

It all goes back to the old adage - sometimes it's just easier to do it yourself. How frustrating! :sad2:

All went well in the end... small issues like those who are new not reading and following directions, but no "showstoppers".

Clinta. I remember you said that name. I am definitely going to remember that for my next trip!

:thumbsup2

Pat - You just described exactly how I feel. I looked outside today and thought to myself "how many more days???????" I am so over it. I feel like I have wasted too much of my life in this weather. I would kill for 55 sunny and beautiful right now. I know even when I went to Williamsburg last spring the weather was so much better just 250 miles sounth of here.

We went from 55 and sunny to snow flurries in a couple of days. How crazy is that? Welcome to NC. When are you in HH again?

Only on page 10 but will play catch soon.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you OhMari - clearing the cache worked!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I have been to Whispering Canyon but never Artist Point. Would love to try it someday......there are some interesting items on the menu for sure. Have been and toured WL a couple of different times and it is an amazing place, and yes with plenty of eye appeal! :thumbsup2

Well, like I said before - definitely put AP on your bucket list, especially if you are celebrating something special. They have awesome customer service and are great with celebrations!

I love this pic! What an interesting perspective with SM in the background. I bet a lot of people haven't noticed that yet, but I can see it being one of the new very popular shots for people here on the DIS to take!!! :cool1: And how great about the surprise DISmeet with Tina!!

I know I didn't expect that view when I walked outside. It really was a nice surprise! Meeting Tina was an extra bonus on this trip!

Lots of great pictures in all your updates. I haven't been to the Poly pool before (except walking by) and I agree it is cool the way it looks like the pool just flows out into the lake! And of course the pics of the two of you in front of the castle just make it look like you two are really close sisters instead of just DIS friends!!! :goodvibes

We really had a wonderful time at the MK that day. And then swimming at the Poly pool really capped it off so nicely! Great fun!

What a lovely afternoon! All the pictures are so pretty. I don't think I ever want to stay at Poly but I do like walking around the resort. The paths definitely are nice!

Thanks! Walking around the Poly paths is definitely something I enjoy doing and if I ever get a chance to stay there I won't say no! ;)

Enjoyed your update! I love those "see you real soon" pumpkins over the tunnel at MK.

Me too! They are just TOO cute! One of my favorite decorations during the Halloween season!

Love seeing the pics of the Poly--- Of course, that's my favorite resort.

I know it is! ::yes:: Such a great resort and very photogenic!

I really enjoyed your update and all of the pictures! I love the pacing of your day!

Thanks! Yes - it definitely was a well paced day. That sums it up nicely!

It has been almost 10 years since I have been in the Tiki Room- I "lost" Ben in the waiting area. We were with a friend and her 3 kids, and I had my two boys. Mark was off getting FPs for Peter Pan. I was doing my counting thing with the kids. 1-2-3-4... Where's Ben??? :scared: I went into a serious panic for a few seconds. Until I realized I was holding him! I was so hyper-focused on getting a visual of everyone, I didn't realize where he was!

:rotfl2: I hope you don't mind if I laugh about that now, but I can only imagine how scary it must have been for you at the time! That is SO something I would do!

That alleyway is very cool. Was there for the first time in June- the teacher for our class at MK had us duck in there for a quiet place for an intro to some of the energy and waves concepts. It was a great, shaded, tranquil place.

I totally agree. It's easy to just glance down the alley and think, cute, and keep walking. But to actually sit in there gives a whole new perspective to relaxation.

Great pictures at the Poly. What a super place to hangout! Between the beach with a castle view, a seriously cool pool, beautiful trails and a Mai Tai, what more do you need?

Not much! Not much at all! :rotfl:

Hope you have a productive and informative research trip to VT.

We actually drove down Thursday night - hence my absence from the DIS boards. We loved the school. Definitely high on the list, but we have to take into account the OOS tuition.

As Mary Ellen mentioned, we did head straight to the Tiki Room. I had never seen the original, only the version "under new management"
You've been missing out then.

I have to admit. I liked the new management a LOT better. Oh well.

With my brain stuck in the Tiki Room (boy that song will stick with you for a while)
It is almost like as bad as that song from the boat ride in Fantasyland.

Where I have to admit, I didn't see a single thing I wanted. Everything was either too generic, too expensive or just didn’t grab me. Surprised me to be honest but oh well.
I don't know why you're surprised. You pretty much described every gift shop on Disney property these days. :sad2:

Which we were pretty disappointed in to be honest. Oh well.
Sand, sun, pool and drinks. How disappointed could you possibly be? :confused3

I know I went in a couple of times and at one point hung with Tracy for a bit at the other end watching her niece go down the slide.
I'm glad you got a little more time to spend relaxing with her at the pool.

Lovely as the beach, pool and pool drinks had been, I did have an agenda that had us heading back a little early. While I'd been making it to rope drop and the morning show, Mary Ellen had gotten in her run. Now it was my turn. We headed back, via boat and I hit the gym.
Seriously... just wear a pedometer around the park. You won't feel the desire or need to go to the gym. :lmao:

Ticker or not, I'd be excited too!!!

HHI is going to be great. This will be my second visit and I loved it there. It has a nice Disney vibe, but no theme park. And that's OK because there is a lot to see and do in the general area.

I hope you have a good visit... or at least an informative one, one way or the other.

Well, we are back and it was a great visit. We all liked the school and the engineering program. Now its decision time.

I kind of like it from a nostalgia point of view, but yeah... very cheesey. Especially when you hear the clicks and clacks of all the animatronics moving about as loud as the music. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: haha - I didn't even notice that, but I didn't notice that the animatronics were in their infancy of development. Perhaps that's the only thing I appreciated about the attraction.

I think this really tells the story about Disney World. Always something new to try. As many people as there are on the DIS who have been there numerous times, everyone has a few things like this that they just haven't tried yet.

I try to do something new, even if its something small, every time I visit. I just love trying new resorts, restaurants, and touring patterns. So fun!

A Dole Whip in your hand?

Or maybe a drink with some rum in it? :rotfl2::rotfl:

Ah yes - dole whip and rum sounds like a perfect combo!

Wow, the Poly pool must have been a popular place to be that day.

Extremely popular! Just about every chair was in use!

Sometimes I don't like relying on waiting on Disney transportation, but it really is magical to have some unusual transportation options to whisk you around. :thumbsup2

When I travel with my DH, Denny, we always rent a car. When I go on girl's trips its always Disney transportation 100%. I really enjoyed all the "boating" we did. Such a nice variety and so very peaceful.

I have no idea how I have gotten so far behind. I catch up and then I'm behind again. :furious:

Well, don't feel bad because I am about 4 days late responding to this and I have a whole weekend of DIS'ing to catch up on! :faint:

I am just loving your pictures of the Poly. We have not stayed since 2004 and I am really second guessing my decision not to stay there for our 30th anniversary in August. But I just could NOT see spending the amount of money they wanted for it even with plans of two days "hanging" at the resort.

I'd have to get a steep discount to stay at the Poly. See - room prices like that are exactly the reason I bought DVC. I just didn't want stick shock every time I went to book a room. Although it is a tad disappointing that I probably won't stay at resorts that don't have DVC. *sigh*

Oh well....I will enjoy the beauty by looking at your picturse over and over again.

Thanks! They really are a good cure for the endless winter blues!

Love the photopass pics of you and Cynthia at the MK.

Thanks!

Wow! What beautiful pictures of the Polynesian. The landscaping is gorgeous! I just wish that it weren't so darn expensive to stay there. Funny that there were other Disers right there with you and ya'll didn't see each other.

It really is. It reminds me of CBR, but with everything more compact so the foliage seems denser. And the volcano and tiki torches. Love that! I wish I could get a deal on a stay there. I would love to spend a couple days there.

So funny that we never saw Sheree. I did see her DH but I honestly thought I was just seeing a look-a-like. :rolleyes1

Yup Mary Ellen I am having a hard time keeping up with all my threads !! Work keeps getting in the way oops I am at work:rotfl2:

Me too Rosie. I really fell behind over the weekend with travel and my computer issue. Trying to catch up now! :thumbsup2 Oh - and your work secret is save with me. :rolleyes1

Yes we are in a 2BR - first time in a DVC 2BR for us! We had a 1BR reserved but had to switch dates, and the points were better this way!

The points for the 2BR are excellent during your stay. When we switched to April we saw an obvious point jump. The 2BR is huge. You are going to feel so spoiled. I will be curious to see what you think about the couch in the living room. My GF's and I kept sliding off. :rotfl2:

My DD11 wrote a little book of poems for school and one of them is about the Poly pool!! So cute! There are lots of bits of Disney in her poetry.

That is so neat. You must love when they do things like that. My boys are definitely too old for that but recently I went through one of Brian's journals (for school) when he wrote about one of our Disney trips. It was so cute.

That was such a fun afternoon at the pool. I am definitely going to hop there again! It was great to come from MK over there.

Yeah - I wouldn't mind doing a hop next October, although I'm not sure if I can talk Denny into it. Sometimes he's weird like that, but you never know!

Love learning out how you got the title for your TR... great story...:thumbsup2
I love Gaston... I think he's a great addition to the characters...but no Gaston is not as interesting as the two of you...;)

:rotfl2: You're right - Gaston has nothing on us! :rotfl2: Too funny! I agree that he is a great addition!

(Btw ... I think the imagineers are pretty cool too... I would have wanted to listen in to their conversation but would have only done it if there was cover available..

I think being an imagineer has to be the coolest job ever. It must combine all the good stuff of design, architecture, computer graphics, and engineering. It would be cool to do one of those lunches with an Imagineers. I would love to learn more about their background. I bet every single one of them loves their job. How could they NOT?

The Liberty Tree Tavern... I think that it's kind of a wasted opportunity by Disney...It's attractive inside...They used to have the Character meal at Dinner... and the characters were adorable all dressed in their Colonial Garb... the food was ok... not life changing but kind of like Thanksgiving... & the lunch menu was tasty... If they don't want to have the characters anymore it might be cool if they turned it into a showplace for Regional American Food... New England, Southern, Pacific Northwest, etc... ( and even have wine and beer) I haven't been in several years but I honestly haven't read many awesome reviews of it lately ... although I'm glad Cynthia enjoyed her salad...

I remember having dinner there with my kids a few days before Thanksgiving and they really got into the character thing. That was fun. And several years ago the food was amazing, then in Dec 2011 it was OK, and this time - well, it will probably be a while before I go back. But yes - how can you have a tavern without wine and beer??????? :confused3

I love your "hidden street" off of Main Street Mary Ellen...:goodvibes I always love finding that kind of stuff...

I'm so glad I got some down time there. I really didn't feel like shopping, so this was the perfect alternative.

I didn't know you could pool hop with DVC... very cool...:cool1: I think the Beach/Pool at the Poly is awesome and I really like the public areas, I just don't love the rooms...:confused3 I do LOVE the pressed pot at Kona and wish I had one right about now...

I wish I had a pressed pot right now, too. :rotfl2:

I really enjoyed our little siesta at the Poly. So relaxing.

Mary Ellen I hope your trip at VTech goes really well...:goodvibes

Well, we have been and are back and we loved it. What's not to love. It's old, its 100% Hokie stone, the people are friendly, the students were super friendly, and we got to have lunch with one of my best friend's son. My only regret is we had to drive down on Thursday (leaving at 3pm) and drive back on Friday (leaving at 4pm) because Nick had Science Olympiad the next day. I really enjoyed the engineering presentations. It sounds like such a great place for engineering opportunities.

:confused3

You may be sleeping better due to the weight loss, which then could mean waking up less/sleeping deeper. While a great thing, that could mean you aren't moving much in your sleep and as such one can get stiff from simply being in the same position too long. At that point yes, the bed/mattress and pillow can make a big difference depending on what the issues you are having pain wise, are.

Y'all looked like you had a great time at the MNSSHP though! :goodvibes I know I said this before....but Cynthia did such a great job on the costumes, she's such a clever one with ideas. ::yes:: Great pics of the castle by the way, minus that hat of course.

:upsidedow

The salad was good, I'd recommend it and it's awfully cute in there. Between that and BOG if I could only do one I'd definitely do BOG.

Tracy had already had surgery, back in May of 2012 and the scar was from that. She'd had to cancel her F&G trip for it so everyone was doubly glad she could go for F&W.

You've been missing out then.

It is almost like as bad as that song from the boat ride in Fantasyland.

I actually like the Tiki song but it does get stuck!

I don't know why you're surprised. You pretty much described every gift shop on Disney property these days. :sad2:

True. There are a few dump shops with unique items, some of the WS countries and some of the resort shops have really upped their game but by in large it is the same old same old everywhere.

Sand, sun, pool and drinks. How disappointed could you possibly be? :confused3

I'm glad you got a little more time to spend relaxing with her at the pool.

Seriously... just wear a pedometer around the park. You won't feel the desire or need to go to the gym. :lmao:

If you eat like I did during food and wine...yeah I felt the need to go to the gym. :rotfl: Funny thing about a girls trip though, it's not park commando like it is with the kids. LOTS of relaxing going on so not burning nearly the calories.

I also knew it was likely my only other shot for it, for the rest of the trip and that if I didn't go, I'd be squirrely by the time I left but didn't see it fitting in very well once we moved over to BWV.

Graet Update So which T Shirt did the E's want ??? Nice Toe pix , sorry but you have found the one pix I will not take .. my ugly toes !!!Hard to believe Rosie draws the line somewhere:rotfl2:Great Memories of Tracey:grouphug:

:rotfl2: That is too funny! But I completely understand as its only been the last couple years that I have decided my feet are totally ugly. :rolleyes2

Great addition to your MK shopping and time at the Poly, Cynthia. So glad you had that time with Tracy.

We really did have a great afternoon! So fun! :thumbsup2

A wedding on the lawn. I’m sure there a lot of annoyed brides who really didn't want GF and NFL construction cranes in their pictures.

PA197028.jpg

.

I purposely left out my construction photos because they were such an eye sore. I am sure it will be lovely when its completed!

Beautifully said. Just the image of it has me all teared up.

I remember Tracy saying she could care less whether anyone noticed her surgical scar!

Love the idea about pool hopping to the Poly. I need to see if we are allowed to do that next month (Spring Break - likely not, but going to check!), it would be a perfect break in a MK day versus trekking allllllll the way back to SSR. :headache:

Definitely better than going all the way back to SSR, although I do love the SSR pools!

I like both old and new Tiki Room shows. Too bad they can't do it like the Great Movie Ride - two different versions, so you never really know which one you will get..

That's an awesome idea! Love that!

I am so glad that I have the happy memory of her getting to take this trip. :) When she got back, things seemed to go downhill quickly, but the pictures everyone has of her in WDW just give me good feelings about how she 'went out', so to speak.

She did go down hill really suddenly. She had finished all that grueling chemo just a week or so before the trip. she was supposed to have a surgical resection of her tumor after the chemo. Unfortunately, the tumor turned out to be non-resectable. So sad.

Hey girl!

Once again, I'm behind! I am now armed with my coffee and laptop so I'm off to catch up!

Hey Queen! I miss you! But I super excited to read that you have a trip plan for next December! NICE!!!!!!!!!

We are not fans of the tikki lounge new or old. Claire however does seem to like it. But I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Amen to that! I feel the exact same way! :rotfl2:

What a nice afternoon at the pool.

It really was a great afternoon at the Pool. Something about digging our toes in the sand. Just perfect.

I loved hopping over to the GF. Jen and I did the same thing when we went several years ago. We checked out the Poly pool one day and the GF pool another day. Only we were so silly - we didn't realize we were at the wrong pool at the GF, so we ended up spending most of our time at quiet pool.

She definitely was an inspiration that trip and she did have a great time. I'm incredibly grateful she got to go. :goodvibes

When I think about her I remember how important it is not to sweat the small stuff.

Hurrah for an upcoming trip, Mary Ellen. It sounds awesome!

I love HHI, so I am very excited to be going back. It's just a great resort and a great location.

Sorry I've been absent for a bit UGH dontcha just hate when real life gets in the way? Not even the fun kind either ,i've been busy with blood tests ,ultrasounds n all kinds of other not fun tests ICK!!

OMG - I hope you are OK. I'll be thinking about you!

Anyways,i've come to the conclusion that i need to be more stylish at Disney loook at you two in ur cute tops(i just usually rock a disney store t) Oh and Mary ellen don't worry about your "stubby toes" at least you dont have Fred flinstone feet like me LOL.

I love all the Disney T shirts, but I am just not a huge T-shirt person. I always think they look bad on me, but that's probably not true.

Fred Flinstone feet? Come on - I don't believe that! :rotfl2:

I couldn't do it yesterday from my PC, haven't tried today.

As you see - I finally got it to work. It must have had something to do with the upgrade and once I cleared the cache I was good! Now I can DIS again! :worship:

It's still not working for me. :sad2:

See above! :cool1:

Ahhhhhhh, and did I mention that I started my February cruise trip report? ;)

Double :cool1::cool1::cool1: I'll look for it now in your siggie. Can't wait to read all about it!

What issues are you having with copy and paste? I did it yesterday, but haven't tried yet today. I do know that when I copy and past it takes out things like apostrohes and if you post ...... it turns into &

Funny - I have seen the && on some people's TRs and didn't know what it was. For me I just couldn't copy inside a quote. Normally I break up the responses and cut and past the end [/QUOTE] and the beginning user name. I could not do that at all but OhMari told me to clear the cache and it worked like a charm. Yeah! Back in business again!

I did it earlier today with no problem

:welcome: tinkerbellandeeyor! Thanks for joining in!!!! I think it probably had something to do with your browser since I could do it on my work pc but not with safari.

Cynthia, :cool1: for making it to the opening ceremony at MK!!! I really do love that opening. :goodvibes

All you did by 10am? You had a very nice morning!

It really was an awesome morning at MK. Perfect weather and low crowds. I'm glad she got to the opening ceremony, too! It's too cute not to see at least once.

Mary Ellen, the reasons you listed as to why you like running... I feel the same way. No getting ready to look all pretty...just get up and go...and see where the road takes me. :goodvibes

It really is a spontaneous activity and its fun at WDW because its exploration combined with exercise. I love going down pathways and not really knowing what's behind each turn.

How cool you two ran into Tina! I saw the picture and I knew who that was! Too funny that Gaston was not too happy that you took away attention from him. :rotfl2:

I am so glad we ran into Tina because I don't think we would have seen her otherwise. It really was a funny encounter, to say the least!

The shop near Gaston's Tavern I completely missed! :confused3

It's a cute shop, but there really wasn't anything in there I had to have.

Mary Ellen, I like any kind of burger really... but I have two kinds of issues... a beef burger can be too greasy and then :crazy2: or a veggie can be too carb heavy and :crazy2:

I do like the morningstar farm products. I could eat that stuff non stop. Not sure why, but I love it!

The pics you got on the jungle cruise are so good!

Thanks!

Cynthia, now your meal at LTT was much more in line with what I would love! I love the apple chicken salad at Panera... so I could see ordering what you had. YUM!

Apple chicken salad is so yummy. that would have been a much better pick for me!

I
love the border on this pic...it goes so well with your outfit and the random person in the background.

:rotfl2: haha to the random photobomber in the background. Her shirt is adorable. So color coordinated!

Mary Ellen, my dh said your issue is probably a browser issue and not a "mac" one. Maybe an update was released and you didn't do it... or you did do it.... Hope you get it figured out though. Not being able to copy is frustrating!

It was the safari browser that did not like whatever upgrade they were doing to the DIS. Once I cleared the cache, I was good. But then I had to go reentering passwords into all my accounts. :headache:

I am also hating the new photobucket !!I can't find half my pix and uploading is a Royal pe=qin in the pertoockey!!!!

Great! I haven't uploaded anything into it yet. It automatically converted me over and now that I don't have unlimited my storage is 75% full. I need to go into my albums and start deleting some nonsense crap. A couple of my folders have dups, so I need to fix that.

:cool1: :yay: :dance3:

I'm all caught up!!

Y'all are having such a great time! :goodvibes I love it!!

Yeah :cool1: for getting all caught up! I am now officially behind on many of my subbed TRs. Hope I can get caught up soon!

MEK I'm with you on the hitting the wall thing of late, maybe it's a thing that happens once you hit 40? :confused3
I use to be such a horrible night owl, up until at he very least 3. :scared:

When I was in my 20's I was a total night owl, but that changed when I started working at 7am. I haven't been able to go back to my night owl ways since.

Hitting the wall hard in your 40's is common. Some of it is a hormone thing that happens towards the end of your 40's. It hit me hard.

:confused3

I also think sleeping less started to me in my early 40's and has progressed. It's definitely got its pros and cons. Sometimes I would just love to sleep in. Rarely happens.

Y'all looked like you had a great time at the MNSSHP though! :goodvibes I know I said this before....but Cynthia did such a great job on the costumes, she's such a clever one with ideas. ::yes:: Great pics of the castle by the way, minus that hat of course.

We had a blast and our costumes definitely added to the fun! I'm thrilled that we were all able to get so many great castle shots.

Her work does sound crazy. I am sure she is super organized and throws a lot of energy into her work. It's probably hard for her to work with people who are a little more....shall we say......laid back. :rolleyes1

:upsidedow

I love the pool hopping aspect of DVC, but it definitely works best if you have easy access to a monorail resort.

Tracy had a healed surgical scar from her first surgery. It was pretty noticeable, but she didn't care one bit.

:upsidedow

That tri sandwich was so good. The first time I had it three or so years ago it was enormous. Then it shrunk. Now its gone. I am sad to say that the ooey gooey cake has shrunk as well. Oh well, I am sure you are going to like it. It's a cute restaurant and the OG cake was probably too big anyway. :rotfl: Calorie reduction. :rolleyes1

Only on page 10 but will play catch soon.

:welcome: Scott! Hope you guys are having a wonderful Disney trip right now. I hope its not too cold for you. But its got to be better than here. :rotfl:

Glad you found a solution.

I am not that far from HH you know...... :rolleyes1

We are arriving in the evening on April 7th (Sunday) and then leaving to spend the night in Charleston on Friday April 12th. We are spending the night there and then driving home.

Can you come visit??? We have a 2BR. You can stay on our pull out. I wish we were there over a weekend, which would be better for you, but I am only leacvi ng Nick alone one weekend night - not two. Let me know if we can get together. We are going to Savannah one day during the week. Can't wait. I need it!
