I am happy to report that in a little under 6 weeks I will be returning to Disney's HHI Resort for my second visit. I know I don't have a ticker for that trip, but I am pretty excited about it.

Ticker or not, I'd be excited too!!!

We will be visiting Virginia Tech in the not so distant future, so I am looking forward to that.

I hope you have a good visit... or at least an informative one, one way or the other.

I quickly realized I am just not a fan of this attraction, but I do like Pierre

I kind of like it from a nostalgia point of view, but yeah... very cheesey. Especially when you hear the clicks and clacks of all the animatronics moving about as loud as the music.

Can you believe I have never eaten here? Nope. No corn dog nuggets for me. Boo! Someday!

I think this really tells the story about Disney World. Always something new to try. As many people as there are on the DIS who have been there numerous times, everyone has a few things like this that they just haven't tried yet.

It was gorgeous out. The crowds were low. And I had this alley way almost all to myself. What could be better?

Well, it was. We found out later that evening the Sheree's family were pool hopping at the Poly, too!

Wow, the Poly pool must have been a popular place to be that day.

It really is special to have your own little system of transportation to take you were you need to go.

Sometimes I don't like relying on waiting on Disney transportation, but it really is magical to have some unusual transportation options to whisk you around.

I have no idea how I have gotten so far behind. I catch up and then I'm behind again.

I am just loving your pictures of the Poly. We have not stayed since 2004 and I am really second guessing my decision not to stay there for our 30th anniversary in August. But I just could NOT see spending the amount of money they wanted for it even with plans of two days "hanging" at the resort.

Oh well....I will enjoy the beauty by looking at your picturse over and over again.

Wow! What beautiful pictures of the Polynesian. The landscaping is gorgeous! I just wish that it weren't so darn expensive to stay there. Funny that there were other Disers right there with you and ya'll didn't see each other.

Yes we are in a 2BR - first time in a DVC 2BR for us! We had a 1BR reserved but had to switch dates, and the points were better this way!

My DD11 wrote a little book of poems for school and one of them is about the Poly pool!! So cute! There are lots of bits of Disney in her poetry.

That was such a fun afternoon at the pool. I am definitely going to hop there again! It was great to come from MK over there.

Love learning out how you got the title for your TR... great story...
I love Gaston... I think he's a great addition to the characters...but no Gaston is not as interesting as the two of you...

(Btw ... I think the imagineers are pretty cool too... I would have wanted to listen in to their conversation but would have only done it if there was cover available..

The Liberty Tree Tavern... I think that it's kind of a wasted opportunity by Disney...It's attractive inside...They used to have the Character meal at Dinner... and the characters were adorable all dressed in their Colonial Garb... the food was ok... not life changing but kind of like Thanksgiving... & the lunch menu was tasty... If they don't want to have the characters anymore it might be cool if they turned it into a showplace for Regional American Food... New England, Southern, Pacific Northwest, etc... ( and even have wine and beer) I haven't been in several years but I honestly haven't read many awesome reviews of it lately ... although I'm glad Cynthia enjoyed her salad...

I love your "hidden street" off of Main Street Mary Ellen... I always love finding that kind of stuff...

I didn't know you could pool hop with DVC... very cool... I think the Beach/Pool at the Poly is awesome and I really like the public areas, I just don't love the rooms... I do LOVE the pressed pot at Kona and wish I had one right about now...

Mary Ellen I hope your trip at VTech goes really well...

I'd better get busy, I swear I finally get my update up and BAM Mary Ellen has the next one ready to go! This whole copy/paste problem in the DIS posting is causing me some issues but I’ll try to get this up as best I can.

As Mary Ellen mentioned, we did head straight to the Tiki Room. I had never seen the original, only the version "under new management"

I do love the entry here though I never seem to really get to see the "show" as the whole 2 times I’ve been, I’ve walked right on.

I have to admit. I liked the new management a LOT better. Oh well.
With my brain stuck in the Tiki Room (boy that song will stick with you for a while) we headed into the now open Christmas Shoppe.

Where I have to admit, I didn't see a single thing I wanted. Everything was either too generic, too expensive or just didn’t grab me. Surprised me to be honest but oh well.

I did want to do some shopping, as did apparently a lot of other folks

With that, Mary Ellen took off to putz around and photograph away and I went to document potential souvenirs for the E’s. Specifically as you may recall, "funny" T shirts or ones from favorite rides.

I also took some pictures of things I (aka Santa) wanted to remember for later.

Other than a great book section, I was disappointed in the Emporium. It had been on my top 10 list, to really spend time in there and I was a bit bummed to really not find anything that grabbed me. So I popped into a few other places that I've avoided with the kids along.

As Mary Ellen mentioned for some reason it took us a little bit to connect, a text delay I guess. I also took this time to take more pictures.

Although honestly, that water isn't all that appealing, which probably makes it easier to keep kids out of it.

A wedding on the lawn. I’m sure there a lot of annoyed brides who really didn't want GF and NFL construction cranes in their pictures.

After we got settled we noticed Tracy and chatted for a bit and then I think went to get our Pool Drinks. Which we were pretty disappointed in to be honest. Oh well. It was still lovely as was lounging on the sand and cooling off in the pool. I know I went in a couple of times and at one point hung with Tracy for a bit at the other end watching her niece go down the slide. As she went down, she screamed, oh how she screamed! It was so funny, we were just cracking up. For the record, her niece hated it, said it was the scariest resort slide ever. I can't confirm or deny as I wasn't getting any wetter than my waist (my hat was NOT coming off lol) It was such a fun moment, hanging by the pool, chatting about normal stuff and hearing kids scream. I was so inspired by Tracy at that moment, just enjoying life, her niece and rocking that scar in her bikini. I will never forget it. I wish I'd taken my phone and gotten a picture or two but living in the moment and having that memory is something that will always be with me.

Lovely as the beach, pool and pool drinks had been, I did have an agenda that had us heading back a little early. While I'd been making it to rope drop and the morning show, Mary Ellen had gotten in her run. Now it was my turn. We headed back, via boat and I hit the gym.

Love the idea about pool hopping to the Poly. I need to see if we are allowed to do that next month (Spring Break - likely not, but going to check!), it would be a perfect break in a MK day versus trekking allllllll the way back to SSR.

I am so glad that I have the happy memory of her getting to take this trip. When she got back, things seemed to go downhill quickly, but the pictures everyone has of her in WDW just give me good feelings about how she 'went out', so to speak.

Great updates! I've never tried the pool hopping thing but it sure looks like fun. Tracy had a great time doing it but did say she thought it was easier staying on the monorail line and hopping to resorts on the monorail line. She thought it might be too much of a hassle using the bus transportation. I think she said the GF pool was her fave... she said the poolside counter service food was amazing! I may have to check that out in the fall! Always nice to hear about yummy counter service with options other than burgers!

She definitely was an inspiration that trip and she did have a great time. I'm incredibly grateful she got to go.

Hurrah for an upcoming trip, Mary Ellen. It sounds awesome!

Sorry I've been absent for a bit UGH dontcha just hate when real life gets in the way? Not even the fun kind either ,i've been busy with blood tests ,ultrasounds n all kinds of other not fun tests ICK!! What issues are you having with copy and paste? I did it yesterday, but haven't tried yet today. I do know that when I copy and past it takes out things like apostrohes and if you post ...... it turns into &
