HAPPY EASTER!

Great update :) I'm going to try and stay current now that I'm caught up. I've said it before but I'll say it again, you're a brave lady taking pictures on EE!

Happy Easter!

ah roller coaster pics. I don't do Roller Coasters lol. Great pics though. Happy Easter

:rotfl2: I'm glad you appreciate coaster pics even though you're not a fan! I just love taking pictures on EE. Such a great ride!

Happy Easter

Thank you! Same to you!

HAPPY EASTER!

easter_disney_1.gif

Thanks Lisa! That's adorable! I love it!

(Every holiday I say I am going to get a cute little sticky and I never do it. I'm so lame)

Great update :) I'm going to try and stay current now that I'm caught up. I've said it before but I'll say it again, you're a brave lady taking pictures on EE!

Thanks Pam! There are actually a couple rides I am afraid to take pictures on and ToT is one of them. I am afraid my camera will float right up over my head, although I know it can be done. I've seen proof.

Happy Easter!

Thanks! Same to You!

Happy Easter!! :lovestruc

Thanks Camille! Same to you!

Responding from my phone. In my opinion nothing goes better with rum than a coke ! Or vice versa!

And lime???

Great update from AK! :thumbsup2 Nothing like having a very empty park to enjoy! And the front seat on EE is the best! Great shots during your ride.

Mary Ellen and Cynthia, I hope you and your families all had a very Happy Easter!!! ::yes::

Happy Easter!!!!

That totally would be an outfit that Claire would wear. I love it.
Those lanterns are in the dump shot. I have tried to photograph them too.

Fun update. We love EE too. It's one of Claire's new favorites.

And lime???

Yes - lime is good! :rotfl2:

Great update from AK! :thumbsup2 Nothing like having a very empty park to enjoy! And the front seat on EE is the best! Great shots during your ride.

The park was very empty over in Asia that morning. But, it filled up fast. I absolutely love front row on EE. It's just so darn cool! My favorite front row seat!

Mary Ellen and Cynthia, I hope you and your families all had a very Happy Easter!!! ::yes::

Thanks. Same to you!

I know that Cynthia must be very busy now with Easter and I think she has a work trip this week.

Happy Easter!!!!

Same to you Jen! I hope you and your family had an awesome day!

That totally would be an outfit that Claire would wear. I love it.

Isn't it adorable? I can just picture her in that! So darn cute!

Those lanterns are in the dump shot. I have tried to photograph them too.

Thank you for clarifying. I thought they were there, but since I have had quite a few senior moments on this trip, I started to second guess myself. :rolleyes1

Fun update. We love EE too. It's one of Claire's new favorites.

That's great to hear that Claire is enjoying EE. I am a little sad that only one (out of four) of my nephews really likes the ride. The rest of the boys aren't really into thrill rides and, sadly, I don't think that is going to change.

Hey DIS friends. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter or Passover or just a nice weekend in general. I did a lot of music this past week, which was actually pretty nice. Nicholas went with me to the Good Friday service at our church and he really seemed to enjoy it. Afterwards we went out to dinner. That was nice considering I won't have my baby around much longer. *sniff sniff*

Brian came home for one night (Saturday) and the boys and I had Easter dinner with my parents yesterday. That was especially nice since Brian doesn't get to see his grandparents too often given the distance between his school and their house.

In other news, I rebooked our October 31st - November 4th stay at a two bedroom standard view at the Jambo House. We are cruising with another couple and they will be coming back to Disney with us for 4 nights after the cruise. Originally we were in two studios at VWL. But for 12 more points I booked the villa at Jambo House. I have never stayed at Jambo House (only Kidani). I did some investigation and I think that only two of the standard view villas have a parking lot view, so I requested a pool view. Fingers crossed. Of course, after seeing Cynthia's reclassified Jambo view, I would be equally happy with that.

Sooooooooooooooooo - I know Cynthia has not updated yet and I think she is really busy right now between the Easter holiday and an upcoming business trip. Since I'm not quite as busy, and I will be in HHI next week, I thought I would do another update today and again at the end of the week. Then I was hoping that Cynthia can catch up with her updates while I won't be posting.

But who knows - Maybe she will surprise us with one this week!

Fortunately, my updates really aren't covering massive amounts of territory. They are very picture heavy. There's a shock!

So I bring to you It's Devine! Oh - and if you missed my previous update from 3/29 see p91 for front row EE pictures!

After EE Cynthia and I discussed what we wanted to do next. I told her the only thing I hadn't done in awhile was take the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch. She told me, "go ahead". What I forgot was that Cynthia had a bad incident happen to her while on the train. Cynthia has no desire to accompany me because I believe there was some type of medical emergency or something which kept her and her gang stranded on a train for quite awhile. Not surprisingly, she did not want to accompany me. And, quite honestly, I didn't want to go all that bad.

We started walking in the general direction of the Safari and who did we run into but Devine! I love Devine. I think she is so pretty.

IMG_1271_zps08e3f373.jpg

There is something about her that is so ethereal! I can't help staring at her.

IMG_1274_zps350c7353.jpg

It's easy to get fixated on her face and her coat of foliage.

IMG_1275_zpsa1d4d573.jpg

Leave to Disney to think of something as unique as Devine.

IMG_1278_zps6181fd4f.jpg

IMG_1279_zps659d9b57.jpg

It's probably not all that fun to be Devine in the heat of the summer, but otherwise it looks like a cool job

IMG_1283_zps270e784f.jpg

I never did manage a good body shot, so I'll stick with head shots

IMG_1285_zps5f1f25f6.jpg

After our visit with Devine I decided that I was really in need of some "good eats". I was hungry.

IMG_1286_zps358f6b7f.jpg

My breakfast

IMG_4478_zps5dd49e5d.jpg

It was really good and I think it was only around $5, so a great bargain as well.

Fortunately I found just what I was looking for and a very pleasant spot to sit down and eat.

IMG_1288_zpse9f1893c.jpg

I have never sat back here before. But there weren't many people around in this morning, so it looked like the perfect spot.

They were both very friendly

and getting ready for a gig

IMG_1299_zps271744f5.jpg

IMG_1300_zpsbcc602d2.jpg

I sat in that little alcove area for quite awhile. I think Cynthia may have been off shopping, but all I felt like doing was chilling. That's not like me to waste that much park time, but what they heck - I had no place to go and I was taking time to "smell the roses, so to speak"!

AT this point we both concurred that there was really nothing we wanted to do in AK and we were ready to move on. We started heading towards the front of the park.

IMG_1303_zps1e131dbf.jpg

Cynthia wanted to stop in the stores near the Tree of Life. I decided to walk around the tree of life while she was shopping. There is a little path that leads behind the tree, so off I went.

I was a little disappointed with my trip around the tree path. It seemed like some of it was roped off or diverted or something. I was really bummed because I couldn't see nearly as many tree "carvings" as I had hoped for.

I couldn't find many "carvings", but I did find some other stuff to photograph

Before I knew it I was in front of the tree

IMG_1319_zpse5faf927.jpg

I met back up with Cynthia somewhere around here. I can't wait to see her T-shirt pictures from her most recent shopping expedition.

We headed to the front of the park to catch a bus back to the Bordwalk

IMG_1331_zps355f763a.jpg

I always feel sad when I leave the AK because I know I won't be back for awhile. Bye AK. I miss you!

Up Next…..Kerry Gold and Eating our Way Around the World Showcase

Hi, Mary Ellen and Cynthia!!! I have missed "hanging out" with you guys! I have a lot of catching up to do, but I love your quiet shots around the AK -- that little niche in Africa makes me homesick for sure!

Beautiful shots around AK. Such a nice looking day.

I have heard they have a lot of the area unser the tree now roped off after that branch fell a while back. I guess safety first, but darn it, we need to see those pictures! :rotfl:

Congrats on booking Jambo- that will be fabulous! As much as my heart is with another resort, you cannot beat the theming at the Animal Kingdom resorts.

What a fantastic "chill" update.

Devine is supremely cool. A very unique profession, to be sure.

I love that little courtyard. Tamu Tamu is our Goto Goto (see what I did there?) place to eat at AK, and even at lunchtime, there are never many people sitting back there.

I believe the trail around the Tree of Life is closed off because of a branch that fell in a windstorm last April. Turns out the branches on the tree are pretty darn heavy, and Disney is being very cautious about reopening the area. What a shame! I love the secret trail with closeup views of the carvings.

Glad to hear you had a nice Easter weekend :goodvibes
Jambo house, eh? Check your PMs. ;)
I've only seen DeVine twice I think. So so cool, and you got some beautiful pictures! I would love to be Disney's make up artist. What a job THAT would be! I used to paint faces. It was one of my first jobs! I wonder if they would class that as enough experience? :rotfl2:
Breakfast looks good. That little seating area is nice, looks cool and shady!
I LOVE those paths around the Tree. So pretty around there! I always take my time around that area. Again, you got some awesome pictures!

CP! :cool1: Woo Hoo! I thought you were gone from the DIS boards forever. It must be spring break!

I know you are a big fan of AK and the AKL, so I'm glad you enjoyed the recent pictures from AK. And I am sure that Cynthia will have many more!

Beautiful shots around AK. Such a nice looking day.

Thanks! It really was a gorgeous day. I can't say enough good things about the October weather. It was perfect!

I have heard they have a lot of the area unser the tree now roped off after that branch fell a while back. I guess safety first, but darn it, we need to see those pictures! :rotfl:

Well that explains what the problem was. There was even an area with some netting on it (one of the few pictures I didn't post). That must be a safety addition for falling tree limbs. The change really made it impossible for me to see many of the "carvings". Back in 2009 I circled the whole tree and was able to see so much more.

Congrats on booking Jambo- that will be fabulous! As much as my heart is with another resort, you cannot beat the theming at the Animal Kingdom resorts.

I totally agree! I am waitlisted for BCV and BWV at the beginning of the trip. I knew it might be harder to get them at the end of the trip because we originally had two studios and not enough points for a 2BR at either resort. I've stayed Kidani, but not Jambo. I have always wanted to stay there so this is a perfect opportunity.

What a fantastic "chill" update.

Very "chill" indeed! :rolleyes1

Devine is supremely cool. A very unique profession, to be sure.

She is supremely cool. I just love her. I wonder how long it takes to get all that make up on? :faint:

I love that little courtyard. Tamu Tamu is our Goto Goto (see what I did there?) place to eat at AK, and even at lunchtime, there are never many people sitting back there.

:rotfl2: Yeah - I see what you did there! :rotfl2: I will definitely be back to that little courtyard. I loved it back there. Everything looks so authentic.

I believe the trail around the Tree of Life is closed off because of a branch that fell in a windstorm last April. Turns out the branches on the tree are pretty darn heavy, and Disney is being very cautious about reopening the area. What a shame! I love the secret trail with closeup views of the carvings.

That's exactly what Jen just said, which explains why there was some strange netting in places. I get it - Safety first, but I really did want to go back there and photograph some of the cool animals. It really is a shame.

Glad to hear you had a nice Easter weekend :goodvibes

Thanks! Hope yours was great too!

Jambo house, eh? Check your PMs. ;)

You do know what they say about great minds, right? :thumbsup2

I've only seen DeVine twice I think. So so cool, and you got some beautiful pictures! I would love to be Disney's make up artist. What a job THAT would be! I used to paint faces. It was one of my first jobs! I wonder if they would class that as enough experience? :rotfl2:

I could totally see you doing face painting and being Devine's makeup artist. She really is so beautiful and what a talent to be able to make her look so lovely.

Breakfast looks good. That little seating area is nice, looks cool and shady!
I LOVE those paths around the Tree. So pretty around there! I always take my time around that area. Again, you got some awesome pictures!

That breakfast sandwich was very good and I think I will be visiting Tamu Tamu for future breakfast sandwiches. It really hit the spot.

Thank you for the compliment on the pictures! I just love taking pics at the AK.

I don't know what it is, but DeVine totally creeps me out! The one time I saw her in person I had to run away. She probably thought I was very rude.

What a shame that you weren't able to see as many carvings as you wanted to. It's SO cool exploring the Tree of Life... but a bummer if you can't actually do it! Do you think it's because of the piece that fell off or something?

GAH what a perfect day that seemed to be, weather wise! So beautiful! I need to take the time to visit the Boardwalk on my next trip! It looks amazing.

They originally booked on hotels.com for $4400, but I directed them to the DVC rental sites and they were able to book for $2700. Big difference. cha ching!
I think they owe you at least a few Dole Whips for that advice. :thumbsup2

In my opinion, EE is the best front row ride in Disney World.
Definitely something I need to do.:thumbsup2

I didn't know we were riding with Thing 1, 2, 3 & 4. Wrong park kids!
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Of course, after seeing Cynthia's reclassified Jambo view, I would be equally happy with that.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could request that specific room.

A little sliver of the creepy clown!
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I don't know what it is, but DeVine totally creeps me out! The one time I saw her in person I had to run away. She probably thought I was very rude.

Really? I'm surprised. Hmmmm - she must remind you of something or someone that you really don't like. I'm sure she didn't think you were rude. I'm sure she occasionally spooks people.

What a shame that you weren't able to see as many carvings as you wanted to. It's SO cool exploring the Tree of Life... but a bummer if you can't actually do it! Do you think it's because of the piece that fell off or something?

Apparently I am given to understand that is the reason. What a shame, but at least there's an explanation for why I couldn't make my way all the way around. I thought maybe I was losing it. :rotfl:

GAH what a perfect day that seemed to be, weather wise! So beautiful! I need to take the time to visit the Boardwalk on my next trip! It looks amazing.

It really was SO beautiful. Think "amazing sunny low humidity warm day in early September around here". That's exactly what it was like, but it was October. Definitely check out the Boardwalk. It's really a cool area.

I think they owe you at least a few Dole Whips for that advice. :thumbsup2

Or maybe a rita at the Ditch? Hmmmmm...........

Definitely something I need to do.:thumbsup2

If you haven't done it yet, you've got to give it a try. It's really, really fun in the front row. You don't know whether to laugh the whole time or scream. So fun!

Seriously, what did they wear on the Universal park day? That's why I want to know!

Wouldn't it be nice if you could request that specific room.

I guess you could, but I'm not sure how that works with the 1 BRs vs the 2 BR lock-offs. I would think trying to figure out which way the room flexes would be hard.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

The poor 'ol clown. He gets such a bad rap on these DIS boards.

Great update. I love DeVine. She is so beautiful and fascinating to watch!
I like that you were just taking it easy and enjoying the beauty and atmosphere of the park. Sounds like a perfect morning.

Hi everyone! I do have a work trip tht starts today as goes this Friday but am hoping to get at least one update in, maybe even today!

I have been crazy busy, had 17 over for Easter yesterday :)

Thanks for your patience!
