Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

Hey Girls!

Great updates as usual! Love the pics from your Dismeets! We were lucky enough to meet up with Mary and her girls in 2010 and you are so right...those hugs are amazing! What a special time you got to spend with your friend! It brought a tear to my eye just to know how happy she must have been for one last trip :flower3:

I visited Discovery Island the last time I was in Disney World - 1988. The pics I took got lost somewhere, but it was a lovely place. Beautiful nature paths and very green. I remember it was a sanctuary for brown pelicans, and other wild birds that had been injured or orphaned. I stayed at Fort Wilderness in a tent.

:welcome: Coyotesweat! Thanks for joining in. It sounds pretty cool. Brown pelicans. That so neat. I wonder what happened to the birds when they closed the island. I guess the capture some of them, may be all. :confused3

I finally just looked it up on wiki and here's what they said. Interesting history.

And another great update!

No matter how often I see that photo of your friend with her pillow, it always makes me tear up!

The pillow really says it all! When I think of Tracy of I think of the way she looked in that pillow.

Glad you enjoyed breakfast at the Wave. That IS breadpudding on your plate and I am sooooooooo looking forward to having some in a little over two weeks. :cloud9:

I highly recommend the breakfast buffet there. I think Cynthia said it was, but I'm not positive.

Your meet sounds like it has been a lot of fun! How could it not be ...... lots of ladies getting together!

Can't wait for more! :thumbsup2

The meet was a blast. The party was a blast too and I am just about ready to post!

A great update, Cynthia.

I definitely see where MaryEllen sees that Tracy is looking right at her on the computer. I'm so glad you had this time with her.

Love the DIS group photo. Aren't Avery and Cayley the best? Avery is a good hugger (can't wait to see them in 125 days).

Is it down to 125 days! :cool1: Woo Hoo! I need some Disney right now, badly!

Both Avery and Cayley are precious. I love that they are so friendly with strangers - well - strangers their mom knows. It's great they can be so friendly.

I'm thinking "why bother" after reading about it... it's vacation... you're going to do a lot of walking... and you had to get up at what is basically 4 am to you!!!! :faint:

It did sound like a bit of torture, didn't it? :rotfl:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Well, at least you know he's a fan of your TR's.

:rotfl2: Good point!

No I never said anything to you. I didn't know at the time. I did zoom in so maybe I thought she looked familiar from far away but I guess I forgot about it afterward.

I did not notice until I saw it the picture full sized on my computer. :rotfl2:

It is pretty cool that you photograph Cayley without even knowing who she was at the time!

I totally agree with you on this. The common bond is one thing but sometimes you find much more. Disney Magic.... ::yes::

You are right. It's cool to meet people who otherwise wouldn't have. I believe there are so many people all over the world that we could be friends with. So many missed opportunities. But meeting people on the DIS creates opportunities.

OH. MY. GOSH. :rotfl2:
My husband gave you a chapter title!!!! He'll be so proud!
I'm not sure I knew or remember that my DH said that to you Cynthia!!! Can't take him anywhere!! Although we have unique ways of identifying DISers in our conversations. I'll say things like, Mary Ellen, we met her at **, she's the one who went to Hilton Head (another trip we're copying) or Cynthia, she's the one that did the Alaska cruise. He can't remember names otherwise!

Denny can't remember names either. He has said "Cynthia who?" so many times its not even funny. He finally got it after the last trip! :rotfl2:

My girls were SO excited to get an unexpected gift! Super sweet of you to do that. And unique for them and their favorite characters too. We had the pleasure of hanging out with Cayley and Avery at the MNSSHP - they are so cute and sweet!

Your girls are adorable and they are still at such great ages. Enjoy it because the teenage years aren't far off. So glad they liked their goodies!

Your breakfast looks so yummy - too bad I didn't have anything remotely like that waiting for me in the kitchen this morning. Nope, it was a do-it-yourself breakfast for me...

Tell me about it. I have looked at those breakfast plates a couples times now just wishing I had something remotely close. :rotfl:

- OK I went back a page further - I think we had driven over and parked at BC that day and walked past the pool and saw a couple friends hanging out - must have been Christine and Pat? Melissa? These are the things I forget. I really should do a TR. Just don't know when I will find time.

That's cool! I know that Christine loves hanging out by the pool at the villas and I can't say I blame her.

I know what you mean about not having enough time to do a TR. They can get really time consuming!

I was looking over the Disney booklet and found a ride I'd totally forgotten about. It was in Frontierland, Davy Crockett's canoe ride. There is a picture of guests being rowed in one of the lakes around Frontierland. There were quite a few passengers in the canoe! Looked to be mighty low in the water!

I love learning about all the old rides. That does sound like fun! It's so great to go back in time. I wish someone would do a documentary that would outline all the changes.

Hey Girls!

What a special time you got to spend with your friend! It brought a tear to my eye just to know how happy she must have been for one last trip :flower3:

I didn't realize that you met Mary and her girls. They are really adorable. I am going to get to see them again in June along with Kathy and Anita and Marc. I'm pretty excited about that!

We were very fortunate to get to spend some time with Tracy that morning. She was so optimistic, but it was obvious she knew deep down that things might not be all the great. So very sad.

Par-taaaaaaaaaaay!

I know everyone has been waiting to hear about the party. Are you sure you are reading for this? I only took…immmmm…….500 pictures that night. So sit back and enjoy as we Par-taaaaaay!

But first - one final picture I overlooked as we were leaving Epcot

IMG_9717_zpscbf30c44.jpg

When Cynthia and I got back to the Willderness Lodge we decided a little pool time was in order. Of course, we had to use up a little bit of our rum stores this afternoon!

IMG_4301.jpg

There is very little sun around the villa pool because of the size of the trees. We literally had the only spot with sun and it sure didn't last long.

IMG_4302.jpg

IMG_4303.jpg

IMG_4306.jpg

Pat came over to join us and then we went got changed into our costumes for the party. Cynthia is the master mind behind the costumes. Her idea and she ordered everything. So thank you Cynthia!

I guess I won't keep you in suspense any longer. Say Hello to April, May, and June………….

IMG_9718_zps560003d1.jpg

I'm April. I think Pat was May and Cynthia was June. But I'm not positive.

So what do you think? Do we make good blondes?

Sure we do!

IMG_4308.jpg

IMG_4309.jpg

We made our way to the boat. Clearly we weren't the only ones going to the party.

IMG_9720_zps3b5f43a2.jpg

It was a pretty evening

IMG_9721_zpse554b48e.jpg

IMG_9723_zps565eb05b.jpg

IMG_9733_zpsddb52cba.jpg

I wonder what they were looking at?

IMG_9724_zps949a4ec6.jpg

It may have been these guys. I asked if I could take their picture because their costumes were so freaking awesome

IMG_9727_zps83fb0b32.jpg

IMG_9729_zps9a8576ec.jpg

It may have been a beautiful evening, but they were running one boat short and you know what that meant - extra waiting. ugh!

IMG_9732_zps06b8e17b.jpg

IMG_9734_zps0310856a.jpg

IMG_9731_zps1384173f.jpg

We completely missed a boat because the line was so long. What a drag!

Finally we were on our way, but Cynthia and I still had to pick up our tickets at Will Call and that took even more time.

Byt the time we got inside the party I think it was already 7:45pm. Yeah - it took that long for us to get there and get our tickets.

I'm pretty sure that close says 7:40

IMG_9736_zps75fbdd77.jpg

IMG_9737_zps9c8c3f64.jpg

IMG_9741_zps885ac157.jpg

I thought Main Street looked even better than the last time I attended a party (this was actually my third)

IMG_9743_zps9e0a1c91.jpg

Inside it was obvious that everyone was already lining up for the first parade.

IMG_9747_zpsded6717c.jpg

But we got the mojo tonight after our transportation woes and we ended up literally stumbling into an empty spot on the sidewalk. Score.

Somebody near me already had their glow on

Yup - He's just a blur

Great update Cynthia!

I'm pretty impressed with both your and Mary Ellen's dedication to workouts on vacation (and at home for that matter) :worship:

Mary Ellen did WAY better than I did on this trip

It makes me happy to know that Tracy had such a spectacular room/view for the trip!

She loved it and it was filled with special treats from all kinds of people! Flowers etc, just lovely.

The goodie bags were such a sweet treat for the kids! What a great meet.

It was so fun ot meet everyone and the kids were just adorable, all of them!

Love, Love, Love the comment from Sheree's husband!

And now,

Party! Party! Party!

popcorn::

I was rolling, it was so funny! Sheree had told me he might have some questions for me at the meet but at the moment he made the comment I was so confused and then completely cracked up. I think I commented back something along the lines of being happy to enable him but I don't recall.

I just had lunch and I think i could eat this all right now. It really looks yummy. That is going to be my new "go to" place for breakfast, especially when I have a car!

Seriously! I could actually see this as a brunch option if you hit parks at 7am EMH during the holidays. Hmmmn...I might need to consider that!

I am so happy that you took this picture because if one picture captures the spirit of Tracy - it's this one. Cell phone or not, its perfect! Strong Work!

Thankfully I took 2, the first with the flash is impossible to see anything.

I totally forgot about this and really wasn't sure where you were going with that title. :rotfl2: That was really funny!

It was a riot!

I like this angle better and I feel like Tracy is looking straight at me in the first picture. I mean - straight at me from my computer screen!

I didn't even think about that! Sheree is hidden in both of our shots :(

Great catch up. I love the line You cost me money, just like a man!

And another great update!

No matter how often I see that photo of your friend with her pillow, it always makes me tear up!

Me too

Glad you enjoyed breakfast at the Wave. That IS breadpudding on your plate and I am sooooooooo looking forward to having some in a little over two weeks. :cloud9:

I would love to go back there, it is definitely my favorite buffet breakfast at WDW so far. Not that I have a lot to compare it to as the only other one I have done is Cape May but still, I've been to plenty of others elsewhere and just loved this one. Plus it is reasonable!!!

Your meet sounds like it has been a lot of fun! How could it not be ...... lots of ladies getting together!

Can't wait for more! :thumbsup2

It was a very fun meet, and the guys that were there tolerated it quite well!

A great update, Cynthia.

I definitely see where MaryEllen sees that Tracy is looking right at her on the computer. I'm so glad you had this time with her.

Me too

Love the DIS group photo. Aren't Avery and Cayley the best? Avery is a good hugger (can't wait to see them in 125 days).

Lovely hugs!

I'm thinking "why bother" after reading about it... it's vacation... you're going to do a lot of walking... and you had to get up at what is basically 4 am to you!!!! :faint:

Yes, which definitely contributed to extreme lameness of the effort. I get an E. For Effort. We didn't do that much walking that day though.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Well, at least you know he's a fan of your TR's.

Or humored Sheree when she made him look!

OH. MY. GOSH.

Seriously, I think ("think") Jeff FINALLY remembers who Mary Ellen is. :rotfl:

My girls were SO excited to get an unexpected gift! Super sweet of you to do that. And unique for them and their favorite characters too. We had the pleasure of hanging out with Cayley and Avery at the MNSSHP - they are so cute and sweet!

We had fun trying to personalize them a little bit

Your breakfast looks so yummy - too bad I didn't have anything remotely like that waiting for me in the kitchen this morning. Nope, it was a do-it-yourself breakfast for me...

I didn't have anything like that today either, though I did almost bid on a basket at an auction today that had ingredients to make some things like that. Doesn't really count though. Heck, I could eat that for dinner tonight. Sounds better than Yaki Soba! :rotfl:

ETA - OK I went back a page further - I think we had driven over and parked at BC that day and walked past the pool and saw a couple friends hanging out - must have been Christine and Pat? Melissa? These are the things I forget. I really should do a TR. Just don't know when I will find time.

I was bummed we didn't see Melissa again after that meet. We did get to see a several of the others more than once, including you :thumbsup2 which was so much fun!

Just the sweetest hugs and almost better when they are that genuine and unexpected.

Our time with Tracy was very special :goodvibes

arrgh! I ninja posted! Was trying to get my replies in before the update. Oops! My day got away from me, we had a memorial to attend for Jeff's co -worker and a fund raiser for a couple, both who are very ill and I'm just now getting online. Sorry for the ninja post!

So far so good, love the pictures. Now I'm sorry to have missed the Halloween party. Bob wouldn't go because of the crowds.

Love the blonde wigs, I have a pink one just like it!

I'm not familiar with April, May & June, are they related to Daisy, nieces maybe?

I just LOVE your costumes !!! What a great idea and so cute !!

The couple on the boat dock had one some amazing costumes, too. We went to the very first party on September 11, 2012 and there was a family there dressed as the Peter Pan gang. They had Peter, Wendy, Tink, Hook and Tiger Lily. They were really good costumes.

That party is so much fun and I love that parade !!

Great parade and party pictures!! You guys look so cute! I have to say that was the best parade at WDW in my opinion. I really like the Christmas one too, but this was so cool!

Looooving all the updates!!

The one with Tracy made me tear up a bit, I sure miss her sweet, funny, spirited spirit. She was a lot of laughs, it was kinda hard seeing her with the pillow knowing the out come of her prognosis. Bless her beautiful heart. :sad1:

You did good on the pillow, Cynthia. I don't think I could have picked a better gift.

Okay, since I'm gushing about Cynthia's amazing ideas I have to say hands down those are some of the best comstumes I've seen in a long time!! :rotfl: So stinkin cute!! How did you come up with that?!? :confused3 Too fun! Y'all looked great!! :goodvibes

Also, I'd like to get some ideas from you two on the goodie bags, we'll be having a Dis meet with a kiddo who I want to spoil a bit when we see her. ::yes:: And since Cynthia and you, Mary Ellen, are the Queens of amazing ideas, I really could use y'alls help on this one. :)

Such a great Dis meet y'all had!! I remember when everyone was on this trip and how left out I felt not being there with all those amazing Disers!! My next trip will probably be for the F&W, just not sure it will be for 2014 or 15?

Thank you, you two. This TR has been pretty great, I appreciate the time and effort y'all are putting into it. :)

Oh my gosh!! The party looks like sooo much fun. I love the whole Haunted Mansion part of the parade and such. What great photos! :) And yes, the blonde hair is very becoming!!

Backing up since I had to get caught up... what a beautiful day for your group Dismeet and breakfast with Tracy... despite sorrowing from the loss, the memories and smiles that you shared that day certainly warm your heart. Glad that you had that time with lovely Tracy and your other Dis-pals.

Now, what's up with making those like me who are a lazy slug on vacation look bad because you two work out while at WDW! Cynthia - even though you said you put in minimal effort for your work out - at least you did it!! :lmao: I always think about it but am too busy getting to my next meal to give it too much thought! ;) Great job you two!

GREAT costumes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You ladies look stunning!

I never get tired to see the pics of the Halloween Parties. We have so many fond memories of them. :goodvibes

Oh, btw, Cynthia - we are going to have breakfast at the Wave in 2 weeks again and I'll have some of that breadpudding for you! :lmao:

Awesome costumes! The three of you look like you were having such fun that night. :goodvibes

The Boo to You Parade is pretty cool, especially if you haven't seen it in awhile. And I agree, the Haunted Mansion part (with the shovels) is great. My favorite part of the show...

Aside from having to wait forever for a boat, it sounds like the party's off to a good start. Can't wait to hear how the rest of the night went.

arrgh! I ninja posted! Was trying to get my replies in before the update. Oops! My day got away from me, we had a memorial to attend for Jeff's co -worker and a fund raiser for a couple, both who are very ill and I'm just now getting online. Sorry for the ninja post!

No worries at all! I considered waiting until today to post, but it was all ready to go and I really wanted to see how the pictures looked since I did a massive amount of editing on those parade pics!

So far so good, love the pictures. Now I'm sorry to have missed the Halloween party. Bob wouldn't go because of the crowds.

You need to tell Bob he needs to get over the crowd thing for a few hours! Seriously, it was not at all insanely crowded. Crowded, yes, but certainly no where near a sold-out party. Plus, you go in September. If nothing else, you've got to see the parade, the fireworks, and the cool castle. If he still says no, you could always go without him. :rotfl2:

Love the blonde wigs, I have a pink one just like it!

But does yours have a bow in it? :rotfl2: Cynthia found those wigs. I'm not gonna lie - that thing was SO itchy by the end of the night. I have weird skin like that and even certain pillows make my scalp itch, so I'm not surprised. But I made it several hours before I even thought about taking it off.

I'm not familiar with April, May & June, are they related to Daisy, nieces maybe?

You are right on! April, May, and June Duck - I copied this from wiki!

April, May and June
April, May, and June Duck are the triplet nieces of Daisy Duck's. Even at family gatherings their parents are not present, and Daisy usually brings them with her. They presumably live in Duckburg, Calisota. They were created by Carl Barks and were first used in a story published in February 1953, "Flip Decision".[9]

I just LOVE your costumes !!! What a great idea and so cute !!

Once again, all kudos go to Cynthia for having the creativity to think that one up and operationalize it. When she asked if I was up for wearing a costume I said, as long as someone else figures out what costume! So NOT creative!

The couple on the boat dock had one some amazing costumes, too. We went to the very first party on September 11, 2012 and there was a family there dressed as the Peter Pan gang. They had Peter, Wendy, Tink, Hook and Tiger Lily. They were really good costumes.

Didn't they look awesome. Wow! Just Wow! Thank goodness it wasn't overly hot, because that's a lot of costume and makeup! I've seen pictures of the Peter pan gang and that's a great idea, too!

That party is so much fun and I love that parade !!

Susan

I agree. I have been to the Halloween party three times, but I've only been to the Christmas party once. I just think the Halloween party is so much better!

Well, if Pat is anything like me (and I think she is), she is probably thinking "We need a drink". :rotfl:

Great parade and party pictures!! You guys look so cute! I have to say that was the best parade at WDW in my opinion. I really like the Christmas one too, but this was so cool!

Kudos to Cynthia for coming up with that idea. The people who "got it" really gave us lots of positive compliments. It was a fun idea. I agree - totally the BEST parade EVER!
