I'm so embrassed to ask this , since I by know means am a first time mom!

However I have never used or bought concentrated formula.. I have been given a case of enfamil concentrated formula.

I followed the directions on the can which say to use desired amount of water into bottle followed by "equal" amounts of concentrate... so I wanted to make a 4 oz bottle..

I used 4 oz of water then poured in 4 oz on concentrate stupidly of course that would maek 8 oz bottle b/c liquid dosen't disolve into liquid....

so my questioni is if I wanted to make a 4 oz bottle should I have used 2 oz of water and 2 oz on concentrate?? the directions on the can compared to the directions on the powder are very vague IMHO...

any one out there use concentrate??

Yes you have it. Another way to think of it is equal parts of formula and water. So half whatever you want to end up with.

2oz concentrate +2oz water = 4 oz formula
3 oz conc.+3 oz water = 6 oz formula
4 oz conc. + 4 oz water = 8 oz formula

just put in as much water as you put in concentrate. and mix

I always liked that concentrate especially when they were infants. easier to mix and less air introduced into the formula because of les mixing or shaking

If it is not a recloseable can than I would make it in a pitcher so you can then just make the bottle size you are wanting. This is how I did it with my kids. Just pour the can of formula in the pitcher than add the same amount of water. It made it easier to make bottles as well.

I use the concentrated liquid sometimes an as the pp it is much easier to make a whole jug/pitcher of it and then pouring it in the bottles when needed. We use Similac and it is good for 48 hrs
