I know there are so many threads like this but, I am really torn :confused3:confused3:confused3

Currently, I am booked at HOJO's, double bed room 8/5 - 8/10 for $485.84 (1 night at the Entertainment rate). Today, I found a rate of $501.50 for FFI (Fairfield Inn) which is a little closer. Now, the dilemma is where to stay??? Things to consider is Entertainment rate may be released for additional nights making it much cheaper & that would allow us to upgrade to a Disney view room (if available). However, FFI is a little closer but, the rate is a non-refundable rate which bothers me. So, could my Dis friends please help me decide shall I stick with HOJO or change to FFI?

A little more information it's myself 33 & DS11 - first time for son....

UPDATE: now I can get the FFI for $453.85...now which would you chose? Don't forget the entertainment rate may come out...

UPDATE #2: Ok...I booked FFI thru expedia so, I can cancel if the Entertainment rate comes out. I found a $50 expedia coupon on the web and it worked!!!

UPDATE #3: New rate for HOJO $416.65 (Entertainment Rate came out for an additional 2 nights) & $453.85 for FFI. Still leaning toward FFI due to the proximity of the parks. Will wait to see if the last 2 nights comes out....and the saga continues. Also, we will have to keep the double room since, the website is saying hotel is sold out for my dates. Now would you go with HOJO or FFI...help me before I pull the rest of my hair out :confused3:confused3:confused3

I would say Hojo's - we went there (in our early 50's) and had a wonderful time - we looked over the park and could see the fireworks above the pines. The walk was Easily doable - since it was only us, we did not have to return during the day, so only one trip over and one back each day. It never seemed far from the front entrance to us.

Of course, saving money is always good! - and you will love your stay no matter what!

I say fairfield, its closer..... and look into the pictures of the room in the Motels thread, it looks wonderful!!

I've never been to HoJo's, but have been very happy with the FFI. It's def closer, but not worth paying more for IMO. I'd stay wherever was cheaper, I think you'll be happy either way. Are your prices you quoted including all taxes?

Just wondering where you found that rate($100 per night) at FFI? I have been booked for months now and check regularly to see if I could get a lower rate and the best I could find was a $116 a night prepay rate.

Right now it is down to $98 on their site, for some dates. The best available is $109. It went down yesterday. I've also been booked for months, but check it obsessively. I don't want to prepay, and had $119 ressies, but got it for $109 now.

I'm going 8/4 - 8/7(which is a subset of the OP's dates). That is why I was wondering.

I got the 2 days free at the fairfield inn. Im booked for months now but it was an awesome deal !!

DisneyholicRaquel: I cannot get your link to work it says it has timed out. Can you tell me how you got that $87 rate? Do I have to mark a certain promotional code? Is it only for certain dates? Thank you very much!!! I am booked at the Desert Palms but if I could save quite a bit of money I would switch ;)
Thank you!!

It's a close race.....keep em coming ;-)

I found the rate here: https://www.marriott.com/reservation/rateListMenu.mi

5 Night Stay Promotion, includes prepay in full, non-refundable, see Rate Rules

Yes, the rates are I quoted are including taxes.

I had a similar situation when I booked to stay at FFI and Hojo in June. I dumped my Hojo ressie. I went through hotels.com. They had the same rate at the marriott best rate that had to be prepayed in advance w/no cancelation; but at hotels.com you can cancel your ressie up to 48 hours in advance. They do charge an additional $10 fee, but it was worth it to me because I still had my ressies at Hojo. (I was also waiting for a 2Qroom to open up in the Building 1 (Premium rooms) but they were all sold out at the ENT rate. I couldn't see paying a comparable price to stay in a 2 Double bed room when I could stay at FFI for less and have 2 Q beds, and it's closer. I really enjoyed FFI. Try to look into booking through hotels.com if you want to retain the right to cancel. Their price was exactly the same as booking through Marriott +$10 fee.

Doing the package came out to about $300 more for my dates....

FFI isn't participating in the 5 for 3 anymore. Get Away Today has 4th night free for FFI though, and even without the free night, the rate is great. That is the cheapest rate I've found so far for FFI.

I have stayed at FFI and it was nothing special....the rooms are really no better then a Super 8 or Motel 6 type. I have no idea if HOJO's rooms are better but their pool area looks fantastic!

I'm in the same situation as you. I was booked at hojo for 9 nights but now that FI has dropped the rate to 87.00 that will save me 200.00.

Only difference in the room is FI doesn't have microwave. I looked at hotels.com and it looks like you can cancel if you book using them. I just don't normaly like to pay up front for a hotel just incase something happens and I can't go.

Does anybody know how the parking is at FI? I read that it can be hard to find a parking spot sometimes.

I said Hojo, simply because you said the FFI was non refundable (hate those and just refuse to do that, its like tempting fate to me lol). Hojo also has the nice grounds, nice pools and the walk to it vs. FFI is so not that much more, I wouldn't even put that into the deciding.

Now, if the FFI was a lot cheaper (like the $200 someone on this thread saved by switching) and it was a refundable reservation, that would be different. Because I am all about saving money!

Thank you!!

Try this one: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/laxoc-fairfield-inn-anaheim-disneyland-resort

No, I didn't put any special code in but, it did pop up as 5 night stay promotion so, you have to stay 5 nights....

Thanks, for all the replies but, of course I still don't know what to do. The information on hotels.com is extremely helpful. I'm just afraid if I book FFI that the Entertainment rate will come out for the rest of my dates. Then HOJO will be dirt cheap. :confused3:confused3:confused3

Well that explains why I couldn't see that rate. We are only staying for 3 nights. I'd stick with the FFI. That is a great rate!!!!
