We are going Dec 17-23. The only day that really works for MVMCP is Dec 18 - literally the Thursday before Christmas. Should we even bother? Will it just be too crazy crowded? We're rope drop peeps so I have another day planned to actually ride rides and tour the rest of the park. This night would strictly be for character meet & greets, parade, fireworks & the Holiday stuff. Those of you that have gone to the party that late in the season, did you find it worth going?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I went to 3 sold-out parties last December and finding spots to watch the parade and the fireworks was not a problem. Watching the two shows was also not difficult. The cookies and cocoa lines move quickly at all the venues. Planning the timing of your character meets will be the most important aspect of your party visit.

Beginning December 20, the Christmas Parade and shows run daily through the first weekend in January if that fits your plans better.

I think it's worth going even if it sells out. They only allow a certain number of people into the parties, which is much less than the capacity of the park.

Pretty much this. Been to both MNSSHP and MVMCP many times and they don't sell the park out to capacity....or even close from my experience. Wait times have always less than they would be during normal park hours.

On the subject...does anyone know if you'll be able to make FP+ reservations for either of these 'parties'?

Yes, the tickets are limited. But nobody is saying at what level. ;) The truth is if you go into a sold out party night expecting low crowds, you will be disappointed (unless you only want to do rides). If you go into a sold out party night with expectations that you won't get to do it all (all the character meets, fireworks, parade and shows) then you'll be fine. Main Street will be packed, but if you pick and choose, and try not to cross Main Street any more often than necessary, you can have a great time.

That said, if you are going to be there through the 23rd, I would see the parade on the 20th or later unless you want to meet some of the special characters.

Thanks all - I think we will stick to the 18th. For MNSSHP we usually stay at MK from rope drop till end of party - with a sit down late lunch. ( yes the next day is typically a resort/DTD day), so I'll just go thru the same way.
