Hi,
I just read that GF hotel is not opening until September 21. We have a reservation booked at the beginning of September. So does that mean that all the pools won’t be open? Is the monorail running? Restaurants?
Thank you for all your knowledge!

I believe GF will not be open to general public guests until then because the NBA is using the hotel side for players. If you're booked DVC, that part is open for guests, but if you have a cash room booked, you will probably be moved to a different hotel.

Supposedly, the Grand Floridian Cafe, Gasparilla's Grill, some shops, the feature pool and that pool bar are open for the GF villa guests. I believe the monorail is also supposed to be running. We'll be there on 7/25 for the first leg of our split stay.

Other than the courtyard pool and some of the restaurants and the spa that Disney has not yet announced as open, everything else is open and is supposed to remain.

Boat service will not be running until sometime in the future...most likely after the hotel side opens...and even then, it’s not clear due to small boats and social distancing.

WDW news just reported that the monorail and ferry boats will begin on July 7th

We are here now. Boats and monorails in constant motion getting ready for tomorrow I guess. It’s been entertaining - obviously I’m easily entertained 😜. It was fun to watch yesterday as they were navigating the big MK-TTC boats through the narrow channel just off of GFV’s. We have seen ops of every kind of boat except the small ones like typically on the GFV/Poly route.

One night a few years back, I rode a larger, I think pirate cruise, boat back to Poly, so it would be nice if they choose to run those larger boats.

but on the small boats, they are open air and the front benches face the side and have good distancing (my favorite spot, anyway) and then there are (4) rows in the read (Back row curves around) so they might be able to use >50% capacity.

Thank you for the info! How is it there? Is the beach pool open? Are they running boats to MK from grand Floridian? Do you know If the make your own salad bar at Gasparilla grill is still available?
thanks

It is quiet and nice! We really enjoyed our pool area visit today 11-2:30. Yes the “feature pool” is open, the kids play area no. No boats to GFV as far as I can see as there is no guest access to the GFV dock area. It is in the NBA “bubble” behind the blue fence. We have not visited Gasparilla so I don’t know about the salad bar, but I’m guessing that very little “self serve” is available anywhere. Hope that helps. We have enjoyed our stay here!
