I'm trying to make something fun for my sorority sister (My Lil Sis!). I bought a scrapbook at Michael's and covered it in the same fabric that I used on her bulletin board and the back of her lapdesk. I also bought the greek letter alphabet sticker pack from Creative memories, so I have a ton of greek letters and a bunch of titles (Bid Day, Pledge, Initiation, Formal, etc.)

I've got pictures from her Bid Day, Feast of Roses (our big initiation celebration/dinner), Big/Lil, and a ton of other events.

We're Alpha Gamma Deltas, so our colors are red, buff (pale yellow/cream) and green, and our flowers are red and buff roses. Our mascot is a squirrel.

I just don't really know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas that might work? I've only done vacation books before, but this is a little different and I want to be something special.

Hi SoonerKate-

I'm in Norman too! I haven't gone back far enough to scrapbook my sorority stuff (ugh that's been 10 years!) I have done quite a few albums though, including an OU Football album for my husband. I know there are a couple of other companies that make greek-themed stuff because I bought some Chi-O stickers a while back. I got them at the one of the SB stores in Edmond. I don't know if you've tried paper piecing, but you could probably paper piece some things to go with specific events i.e. your banquet, mascot etc... It might be nice to add some quotes or poems that are special to "friends" and "sisters" as well as some of your sorority songs, etc... You are more than welcome to PM me if you have an questions, I'd be glad to help. If the album is specifically for the pics of you and your Lil Sis at AGD events then you could use the colors of your sorority throughout, and just start with the event (I keep saying event...we called it "function" do they still call it that? :) If this is meant to be a scrapbook for all of her AGD memories, then you might want to start with Rush or Bid Day and leave a place for her to put her bid card, etc... I guess the most important part is to journal about those great memories and how much your sisterhood means to you. The best years of my life were at the Chi-O house!

Good Luck,
Candi

Yes, we still call everything "functions!"

Thank you so much! I'll have to go look for some other stuff in Edmond -- the greek stores down here don't carry much Alpha Gam stuff. (Christmas Expressions has more Alpha Phi stuff, and they're not even on campus anymore!)

I found these items online...I've never ordered from any of these places, but at least you'll have some idea of what's available:

This one says they have sorority scrapbooking supplies, but you have to order or download a catalog.

Also, my best friend and I have a "paper piecing" website-- You are welcome to browse there for some ideas--www.simplyscrapbooking.com We don't have any greek items, but we would be happy to come up with something for you.

Good Luck with your project, your Lil Sis will love it!

You ladies started me thinking back to my sorority days - yummy 72 you think 10 years is bad try 20! We didn't actually scrap in those days but did do "memory books" with pages for all of the sorts of things you mentioned.

Plus we had to "interview" with each of the members while we were pledging and there was space for each of them to write in something. It might be an idea (if it a general book and not just the two of you) to get a picture of each of the girls and ask them to journal something on a piece of card stock.

Funny you should bring this up as just this past weekend my DD was looking at a bunch of photos in a collage frame I have in my scrapping room asking who all these people were and it was all sisters!

This will be a GREAT memory down the road especially.

I'm actually the historian for my sorority, so I get to make the "official" scrapbook. One thing I am going to try to do is include the small, fun things along with the big functions (doesn't EVERYONE call them functions? LOL). I want to make sure that when you look through the scrapbook, you can really feel what that semester was like, and the PMs who look at it will really be able to see how fun and close our sisterhood is. For your Lil' Sis I would make sure to include lots of personal journaling about all the fun times you have together and how much she means to you.

If you go to Taylored Memories, you'll find a AGD scrapbook kit with lots of Alphas, Gammas, Deltas, squirrels, and roses, all in red, buff, and green :)

Hope this helps!
