Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card List

Makes sense. Thanks.

I imagine there will be some rare ones show up on eBay for exorbitant prices. So not going there. ;)

That's been the case for months. If anything, I would expect this development will lower those eBay prices substantially.

Why did they sell out? They aren't limited edition ... so they should have had more stock. They knew how popular the packs would be before they released them, they could have made/released enough for all the customers.

I'm really disappointed in Disney for this one.

Bummer, on property now. Thanks for the update!

Who knows, maybe for tomorrow they'll find a box they missed. One can only hope!

We'll try again sometime during C6, but I won't hold my breath. Hopefully the next order will be big enough to handle the demand!

The booster packs were back this last Sunday morning. They sold out within 2 hours and I haven't seen them back since.

I'm still hunting #9 (Lythos) and have gobs of cards to trade if anyone has extras.

PS- card #61 is Ariel, #64 is Hercules, and #68 is Mr Incredible!! :)

Lol, figures. We stayed home Sunday. Bummer!

I got word of this about 11:00a Sunday morning at POR after a long day at MK the day before. I had even asked about them that night with standard non-answers from CMs.

I booked it over there and had 5 (the per person limit) of them in my grubby little hands within 25 minutes of leaving my room--caught the bus right.

Multiple CMs at an endcap in the first room guarding them and handing them out. I got very lucky.

So they were still there at 11am. I asked how long it took for them to sell out since they were gone when we left for the day. It was very lucky that we were there too. Is there a group where we can notify each other when these are put out?

They would only let my DH and I buy 5 packs. They said 5 per party.. I certainly had my own method of payment. I know if I would have pushed it they couldn't have stopped me but I decided I really didn't need $120 in cards anyway. They were very closely watching these. It isn't like these packs are anything that special. I'm shocked that can't seem to keep up with demand!!!

I found out through another forum, not completely sure I can mention it here though so I won't.

I follow a SotMK blog on twitter... they're pretty reliable with their news. :)

The sad thing is that this booster set is made so you can play at home. So who is able to buy the boosters? Locals. Who are probably tired of the game and the cards and all of that. Those of us who don't live in the Orlando area have one place to buy the boosters: eBay. Every eBay listing I've seen is selling the boosters for more than twice the selling price, and sometimes it's SIX times more! I'm sure this isn't what Disney wants, but through the scarcity of the boosters they have dictated it. So I sit here at home, wanting to play, but can't without mortgaging the house. I can't even get common cards without going to eBay. Thanks to some online friends I was able to get some cards of my own (many thanks!), but most people don't have that option.

I'll be at WDW in early Oct, and I bet I still won't be able to get boosters. I hope I'm wrong.

They're planning to sell them on the DisneyStore online so eventually this will not be an issue. I doubt the scarcity is intentional. It just takes time to get supply ramped up. I refuse to buy these on eBay. I'll just wait it out.

I'd suspect that this has to be a deliberate creation of scarcity on Disney's part. Seems like maybe they've gone TOO SCARCE, though... ;)

It sure seems like it. I can't imagine marketing research and supply and demand were that poorly thought out that they sold out twice within two hours of putting them on the shelves.

This "local" has been to the MK 4 different times to see if they were in stock. Each time we came home empty handed. We refuse to buy from ebay too. I know eventually they will get enough in stock to score a pack.

If it's not intentional, then they appear to have missed the mark a bit.

Have the trading pins been released? I haven't seen any of them either.

That's great about eventually selling them online. :)

I disagree that it takes a company like Disney time to ramp up production, though. This is very easily avoided - it's a matter of gauging interest level, timing of advertising with rollout, etc. Especially after the first 2-hour sellout, if they truly were caught off guard the first time. It's either deliberate or incredible mismanagement.

You can look back at my past posts... I rarely criticize Disney this strongly (not that this is all that important, at all, in the grand scheme of things!)... we love all things Disney and I more often than not have the pompoms out :cheer2:!

In the end, Disney rarely gets it wrong for long. They'll straighten this out. :goodvibes

But Daddy, I want a pony NOW!
