Hello and welcome to our first dining report, I have always thought about doing one since I mostly lurk but from here on im jumping with both feet in. As for the both of us (Sora) Jessica and (OneWingedAngel) Ruben.

Cast:
Jessica (Sora)-I'm 29 years old Administrative Assistant for a plastic distribution company. I have lived on Long Island my entire life. I've been a Disney fan since before I can remember. I have a special place in my heart for Figment. I met Ruben in 2003 online and we've been together ever since. We became DVC owners together in 2006.

Ruben (OneWingedAngel)-He's 27 years old works in Medical Records for a cardiology practice. Lover of video games (Kingdom Hearts), anime, and sneakers. Ruben's love for Disney was sparked once we started making trips.

We have both loved Disney for as long as we have been together. He even proposed on December 11th 2007 at Artist Point. We had planned one extra "special" night while we were in Disney. We got dressed up and went to Artist Point. We ate dinner and right after we ordered desert, I saw a bunch of waiters and waitresses headed for our table. I was a bit puzzled. They placed a pillow of flowers with a glass slipper on the table.

Inside the glass slipper was an engagement ring. Ruben took the ring out of the slipper and got down on one knee in the restaurant and proposed in front of everyone. We headed off to the Magic Kingdom after that where he showed me the brick he had bought for us a few months before.

Well there is a little background on why were heading back to the obvious place for us to have our honeymoon. Even though we get these puzzled looks from everyone saying "your going back again???". But im sure all Disney nuts go through this.

Excited to be the first one on board. You guys are adorable! Can't wait to read more!

What a magical proposal! Can't wait for your reviews and have a wonderful wedding!

Congratulations! Beautiful story, beautiful couple! Looking forward to reading more!

thank you everyone! We are both so excited to FINALLY be getting married and heading back to Disney. We haven't been back since this past fall and that was a very short trip.

We usually like to surprise each other each trip with something for Disney Florist. We also have a few traditions that we like to follow. We always go to DTD on the first and last day. Always eat at the Earl. Almost always get a sandwich for the plane ride home.

Very sweet proposal story!! Looking forward to your reports. Enjoy your special day! Wishes for a long & happy life together!!:goodvibes

Ruben and I have been getting so excited! It's 24 days to the wedding and 27 days till Disney!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
At night we've been looking through dining reports and drooling over all the food pics!

Our flight time has a changed a little bit so I might see if I can move up our Kona reservation. Ruben and I tend to like to land and hit the ground running. In the past we have taken 3 day trips (flying down Friday and flying back on Sunday) and getting all 4 major parks done. Typically we do this for Food and Wine. We have gone the past 3 years. We love trying all the kiosks and also going to MNSSHP. We said we wouldn't be going as paying for this wedding put a strain on us, but almost every year we say the same thing and find a way to sneak down for a few days. Typically when we do those super short trips we get the quick service which is nice because when we take longer trips we typically stick to table service.

We have always talked about eating at two places but never have....Ohana's and Beaches and Cream. I'm not a huge ice cream person but those sundaes at Beaches and Cream look delish! We've made reservation for Ohana's in the past but something has always come along and we've had to change our plans. We once again aren't making it to Ohana's but just maybe we'll make it to Beaches and Cream.

I'm really excited to go back to the Yachtsman. We went two trips ago (when we stayed at Beach Club Villas) we ate there for the first time. It was seriously THE best steak I've ever had in my life. I'm hoping this trip proves the same.

The only restaurat that is new to us this trip is Citricos. If the menu on this site proves correct I can't wait to try the Arancini, which is the risotto. I first tried risotto was at Le Cellier and Ruben and I are both hooked!

We have a few places we visit every trip, Le Cellier for dinner, Kona for breakfast, Earl of Sandwich lunch and its definitely becoming a tradition that we go to Gardenview Lounge for tea.
We both plan to be taking lots of pics and I might even be able to update from the World. I'm bringing my laptop and if I have time, I'll definitely share a few pictures while I'm still there.

Congratulation! May you live happily ever after at your new home. I will be waiting for all your reviews :cheer2:

Thank you so much! It feels like we have been engaged forever and that our wedding would never come. And now we are under 30 days and I can't believe it. It still doesnt feel real!

Thank you so much. I'm so excited to be marrying my best friend. I really wanted to get married in Disney but my grandmother wont fly and I thought itd be a lot to ask of everyone to take on such a big expense.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon!!!! Also HOLLA!!! from a fellow Long Islander! I got married last year, and we Disneymooned as well. You'll always be hearing "you're going back AGAIN?!" for the rest of your lives! We get it all the time! Your ADRs look great, can't wait to read all about your amazing honeymoon!! AND that proposal story is sooo sweet! I got a little tear reading it! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Hey Allegra...We've actually "spoken" before on the wedding board;););). I'm under the same name on there. I sent you an FM about your trip report awhile back. We ALWAYS hear "you're going back again???" And everyone was super surprised that our wedding isn't at all Disney-fied. The only thing remotely Disney is our honeymoon and the DJ is going to have a Mickey Ear in lights on the floor.

Hiiiii!! I thought it was you!!! But for some reason I thought you were an 09 bride. I'm stupe! SOOOO EXCITED FOR YOU MAMA!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

As the trip is approaching faster and faster, we have been getting more excited. We have been going over the menus and thinking about what we are getting.

We decided to add yet another meal! We are crazy I know but we arent sure at what point we are getting back to the World. We decided to add Yak and Yeti for the 1st day. We are doing a late afternoon lunch. It will also help break up the day and get us out of the heat.

We dined at Yak and Yeti two trips ago and really enjoyed it. I remember I got the ribs the last time and enjoyed them a lot. I'm probably getting them again. I know last time I got the eggrolls as my app, but i think this time i'm getting the chicken wings. We both loved the fried wontons as a desert.

My mom made Dole Whips this past weekend so that definitely got us into the spirit more.

Since our first trip, we have used the passporter. We fill it out everytrip and keep all our receipts. Every night we tally to see how much money we've spent and it really keeps us on track.

Aww, you guys are so cute. I loved your proposal story, too. You are marrying a smart guy. Who could say no to that? :goodvibes

While everyone says the days leading up to your wedding are the craziest....no one said anything to me about the days after. I'm still trying to reorganize my life, unpack and finish laundry.

The wedding was truley the best day of my life. Almost everything went according to plan. But in true fashion, when I checked out of the hotel after the wedding, I left my camera battery charger behind. So unfortunately I wasnt able to find one for purchase so my pics are kinda lacking from disney.

I will give a review of each place and fill it with pics later.

We had 3 reservations planned:
Kona Cafe-breakfast
Yak & Yeti-Lunch
Yachtsman Steakhouse-dinner

However our plane was delayed. We should have landed in Florida at 8:30 AM instead we got there at 11:30 AM. We ended up landing, checking into the hotel and off to Animal Kingdom. It was soooo hot. And we were hungry so almost immediately we headed off to Yak & Yeti. DH ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna and I got the Thai Chili Chicken Wings . They were both very good. I would definitely order it again.
For our entrees DH got MalAsian Seafood Curry and I got the baby back ribs. I had the baby back ribs the last time I was there and I would definitely order them again. I'm a big rib fan. They were very tender and the sauce was delicious. DH really enjoyed the seafood curry. I tasted some of the rice with the curry sauce and i thought it had great flavor.
For desert I got the Fried Wontons and DH opted for just a scoop of ice cream. I love them fried wontons. I was really looking foward to it and it didnt disappoint at all.

We would definitely go to Yak & Yeti again.

Yachtsman Steakhouse

I have looked foward to Yachtsman since we last dined there. I think it was in 2008, but I'm not certain. We arrived a few minutes early and we were seated promptly. They brought out our drinks and some bread with butter. The apps are a little iffy for me as I dont really like seafood so I decided to try Black and Blue Beef Tartare and DH had the Seared Maine Diver Scallops. Beef tartare was not for me. But DH had the rest and he thought it was delicious. He really enjoyed his scallops.
For entrees we both got the Porterhouse but we subbed out the fries for the gratin potatoes. That meat is to die for. I'm always puzzled when people say they dont like Yachtsman. To date, they have the best steak on property.
For desert I ordered the Signature Banana Napoleon and he got the The Yachtsman Sundae. I love bananas and this did not disappoint. Since it was our honeymoon they brought us a special treat. It was a platter that had two pieces of chocolate with salt and two piece of some fruit candy. I ate the chocolate and DH had the fruit candy.

We wrapped up our leftovers and headed back to our resort. I would DEFINITELY go back to Yachtsman again. It was delicious.
