SOOO Frustrated with booking meet and greets!

I've seen a couple different people post that they could not get tickets pre-cruise. I haven't heard anyone report back if they were then able to get them on board. It sounds like they are issuing tickets by person not by room now, so I wonder if that's part of the problem.

It all sounds a bit complicated, and I guess any new system is going to have bugs. :( We go in just under a month now, so I will try and let you know how we do on our return with getting tickets on embarkation morning!

Just to let you know... we were denied tickets on our cruise when I tried to get tickets at the desk on-board, all spots filled... so it does happen and my daughter was crushed.

Were you fairly early to the desk to ask for tickets? I've read that there are tickets available onboard, but, maybe it's only the spots that didn't "sell" during the online process.

I hope that is not the case. Since not everyone is aware you need to pre-book these meets and greet. I would hope that there are a set number available for pre-booking, then a small number available on top of that for on-the-day collection. Of course, the information is on the navigator, so everyone has access to it, so if you are not early they will eventually be gone. What I don't understand is why there aren't enough sessions for everyone on board. Is it not better to be able to schedule everyone in at least once, then those that don't want to do it can decline, and those tickets can be first-come-first-serve for anyone who wants to go again? I guess there must be some logic behind it :( Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed.

That's why I asked when they went to get tickets. If they went immediately upon boarding the ship (as used to be the case for everyone), and there were no tickets available, then I'd hazard a guess that only those meet & greets that were pre-booked were scheduled. If they waited until later, there may have been a few tickets still available and they just missed out. As could (and did) happen when it was being done the "old way".

I was just wondering, since I'd read reports from some on recent cruises that there were tickets available onboard.

I just got off the Fantasy and everything worked out. I also got on the site our first chance 75 days out and booked what we wanted with no issue. Weeks later, the character meet & greets were added as an online booking option but I never knew it. By the time I checked a few weeks ago I could not get enough tickets for the Character Breakfast, Frozen meet & greet, and the Princess Gathering was completely sold out.

When I called I got help from DCL securing enough tickets for the breakfast... but no luck in the meet & greets.

I planned to check onboard once we made it, hoping more tix would be released that day.

To my very pleasant surprise, however, tickets were released online about 3-4 days prior to sailing. Suddenly many times and tickets for both meet & greets were available and I was able to get exactly what I wanted easily.

Stay positive. I was supper frustrated and stressed, too, as my posts on here show, but I kept checking and finally had all I needed days before we set sail.

That sounds more positive! I am checking daily to make sure nothing has appeared. However, I will make sure I have a look when we reach WDW in the week leading up to the cruise! :)

This was incredibly frustrating for us last christmas. There were no tickets for santa but every time (there were only three times) santa came out the line was from the atrium to parrot cay and a cm had cut it off just like in wdw. No fun telling little kids they cannot see santa on their "Merrytime" cruise because dcl has rationed santa. Why wasn't santa available for all paying customers? In the promotional video Santa is all over the cruise. Not ours.

That is really bad and sad for your children! I am totally for the whole ticketing thing, to reduce the queues and the waits and spread out the meet & greet opportunities, but unless it is going to be a paid for addition to cruising, then it should be available to everyone. Every stateroom should be allocated a meet & greet reservation and then you choose your day and time. It should only be the day and time that run out, not the actual tickets to the meet & greet. :(

No, unfortunately we had a late PAT (1:30pm) This was when online booking meet-and-greets wasn't a thing. I really was surprised they didn't have anything at all available for the whole 4 days though :(

My recent cruise that ended last week, many couldn't book online, but reports on our active cruise meets social media site informed me, everyone who wanted a slot, got one on embarkation, upto the muster drill time st 4 pm.

Thanks.

I don't know what the problem was with the cast member who assisted me, I should have gone to someone else to confirm I guess. I'll know better next time.

This can occur on the ship, always worth a second opinion, we were on the Magic, one port adventure was cancelled recently, so I was in the " area" where meet and greets were being organised at 12.30 onwards.

I saw a male CM, who gave me incorrect and misleading information, it was said with conviction I actually was taken in. A friend saw a female CM minutes later who helped and booked an available port adventure, that the male had said wasn't available minutes earlier!

Normally I am not taken in with me experience this time I was, anyway, his name was on my end of cruise comment card.
