Hey you dallasites, or whatever you call yourselves these days, where are the Rangers :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :goodvibes :goodvibes

Be careful! They might ask us about the Texans! :scared1:

Go Astros!!!

No, I will actually be at the last game ever at Busch--Thursday night. Since they are tearing it down as soon as the Cards' season ends, it seems to me like the workers better get the wrecking ball ready for Monday morning, sonce the Cards' season will be over by then. And, they won't get a chance to come back and play again.

Bwahahahahahahahaha

Kind of like when the Arena, Checkerdome came down. My sister still has, I think, a couple of seats attached to her game room wall, and they have moved a couple of times with them.

A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away,

I worked as a Costello Usher. The guys(and gals) in the blue outfits (not the red ones) with the hats. I worked the ticket lines, then up on the upper levels, and then, for a couple of years, down on the field, right past the third base dugout. Now that was a fun summer. For ome reason, they didn't understand that my black boots looked no different than black shoes (they finally relented)(home from school) so, I was allowed to wear them.

I remember school getting out early for the 82 series. A classmate was bat boy that year, and then the next went out to LA to bat boy for the Dodgers during their series.

Where did I go to school--a Bi-State bus ride away from where I lived, in South County/Sunset Hills area. I went there from 6 through 12, all boys, wore ties two quarters of the year. Can you guess?

Texans who (Oh those guys who I have tickets to that I can't get anybody to take, and, while its fun to tailgate, its tough to sit through.

But, go Horns!

Chaminade

Yep:

To many clues

Best school around though. Sure made me what I am today. Without them, I hate to think about it.

Now, fes up, where did you go!

The clue that gave it away was all boys 6th grade. Most start in 7th. ;)

My high school isn't around anymore. St Mary's Academy (all girls) out in O'Fallon, MO. I know quite a few Chaminade guys - even went to your prom.

Ah, I was gonna guess Vianney. I don't even think I know where Chaminade is.

Chaminade is on Lindbergh. North of 40. South of Olive. On the west side of the road.

Not that I have even been there..... ;)

I am racking my brain here, Beth. Is Lafayette off of 109? Still trying to get my bearings since so much changed while we were gone!

Rosary High School and graduated from Riverview Gardens High School, AKA, ReferView.

Don't worry I went to Smokeville or Tokeville when it was actually OAKVILLE. For anyone that doesn't know that is in S. County.

Now I live in O'Fallon

I moved away from O'Fallon in April. So far so good here in Texas. We keep :rotfl2: at the Texans for their weather. They keep "dying" of heat (no humidity most of the time when it is 100) and "freezing" when it is in the 60's/70's.

I telling you, move to North Texas for endless summer.....geesh. It was so nice here today.

So, Geetey, when were you at the prom. I will tell my age, I am an 84 grad. Went to 83 and 84 prom. Dated girls from cor jesu, lindbergh, nerinx(?), duburg, was there another down south?, But, my stomping grounds were mostly south, although most of my friends from school were mostly west.

I was the last class of 6th grade, until just recently. I was also the only pefect attendance for 7 years. (My mother insisted that I get some kind of award, although I seemed to take what I learned there, and apply it in college, whereas I never did in High school. :cool1:

It is fun to think about the old days. If I thought I could have the same lifestyle, as I do here, there, I would move back. But, I just don't think its possible. Whats more, what would I do with my boots and hats. I do wish I could send my boys to Chaminade. Wife has said absolutely no boarding though, so, maybe St. Thomas or Jesuit.

But, back to St. L. My older sister, who went to Cor Jesu, dated a couple of Chaminade guys, partly because of my presence out there, and for other reasons, and then my little sis, who went to Viz, married a Chaminade guy, and, in fact, just had their first, tonight, after many years of trying. :cheer2: It is so funny how much alike we are. Scary in fact.

I am trying to think of the things I used to enjoy, besides cruising White Castle, on Lindbergh and by So. County Mall. There was the drive in on Lemay Ferry???? That was a fun spot. Then, there was Arena bowl, after Steamer games, COCO's after things at school, Schneidhorsts for dance dinners, or the MAC downtown, (I got lost coming out of there once, got late to the dance)

And, so many others. Necking in Jefferson Barracks park, watching the submarines :earboy2:

OK, so I am done with going through my childhood. But, I am going back to see the Cardinals lose.

Yes. Clayton Rd ends at 109 and it's right on the corner.

Ya can't really cruise on Lindberg anymore - cops everywhere! But I graduated in 97 and it was still something we did ;) Drive in is gone :(
Jefferson Barracks is still popular - there is a great big Walmart that backs up to the cemetary now which is really sad. Not sure where you watch submarines ;)

You are a disgrace to your city - watching the Cardinals lose. And here I thought you could take the man out of St. Louis, but could never take the Cardinal out the man.

Wow! So many memories! Another displaced St. Louisan here. (Living in Northern Nevada- Tahoe area now) I went to Cor Jesu and married a St. Mary's guy. Dated a few guys from the other all-boys schools but picked the good old-fashioned South Side boy.
I remember cruising Lindbergh... Got caught out after curfew... Still miss White Castle and Imos (although that I now order mail-order... not quite as good but gets the job done!) Oh my G*d! Steamers games! "Ain't no stopping us now...." My husband actually coached Jeff Cacciatore's nephew in track at St. Mary's. St. Louis is a VERY small world! What, no mention of "Uncle Bills???"

I was lucky enough to see the Cards spank the Padres in game 3 on Saturday night. The Padres fans were actually very nice about it. Even took our photo with the scoreboard in the background and wished us luck...

GO CARDS!!!

The last time I went to Uncle Bills (on Kingshighway) there was a GIANT cockroach on the wall next to our table. We high-tailed it right out of there and never went back. It's IHOP for me now.

I don't eat at Uncle Bills either.

Now Ted Drewes - that is a place I still find any excuse to go to!
