OK, I have had a point and shoot HP 620 and been very pleased with my results. It has something wrong with it and now I have been looking around. A friend of mine reccomended the Sony P200 to my DH and he has bought (ordered) it for me. Will I love this? I am not very camera savvy, but I do like playing with my photos with Movie Maker. Thanks for any help.

I don't know how much he paid for it but for the US$400 MSRP, you will get a far better camera from a Canon S2 IS. At least with the S2 IS you'll get image stabilization and 12x optical zoom (whereas with Sony, no image stabilization and only 3x optical zoom).

oh okay... not too bad then.

I know it's a gift... but can you exchange it? Without looking/sounding ungrateful, of course. Especially since an S2 IS is only $70 more.

PS: I don't know your budgeting, I don't know how your husband will react. I should just shut up.

I'm hoping that someone with this camera will read and respond. :confused3
Actually, my budget doesn't allow for spending more at this time. Between saving for a Disney trip, (Orlando) a Sea World trip (San Antonio) and two conferences one in DC and the other Portland w/i the next four months, oh, I forgot to mention prom for my two 17 year olds, I'd say that spending more on a camera really is out of the question.

But I do need one before Prom which is coming up in a couple of weeks. Geesh, wish I had a money tree :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks anyway.

The reviews I read on this camera are quite good. I think you will be very happy with it.

Up until dec I always had Sony's and I was always pleased with my photos. I'm actually a little disappointed in my S2IS. I like it, and the zoom is fabulous but my photos aren't automatically better. I just think I'm not a very good photographer. lol

Okie dockie, I just picked up my camera today. It's currently charging all up. I can't wait to practice, but I wanted to tell about my Great News!!!
It came with a bonus starter kit. A nice bag, a tripod, lens cleaner, and is valued at $49.00. For Free
